Ultrasonic power and data transfer through multilayered curved walls was investigated using numerical and experimental analysis. The acoustic channel used in this paper was formed by two concentric pipes filled with water, aiming for applications that involve powering and monitoring sensors installed behind the pipe walls. The analysis was carried out in the frequency and time domains using numerical and experimental models. Power and data were effectively simultaneously transferred through the channel. A remote temperature and pressure sensor was powered and interrogated throughout all the layers, and the power insertion loss was 10.72 dB with a data transmission rate of 1200 bps using an amplitude modulated scheme with Manchester coding. The efficiency of the channel was evaluated through an experimental analysis of the bit error rate (BER) with different values of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), showing a decrease in the number of errors compared with detection without Manchester coding.

In the current era, due to the widespread availability of the Internet, it is extremely easy for people to communicate and share multimedia contents with each other. However, at the same time, secure transfer of personal and copyrighted material has become a critical issue. Consequently, secure means of data transfer are the most urgent need of the time. Steganography is the science and art of protecting the secret data from an unauthorised access. The steganographic approaches conceal secret data into a cover file of type audio, video, text and/or image. The actual challenge in steganography is to achieve high robustness and capacity without bargaining on the imperceptibility of the cover file. In this article, an efficient steganography method is proposed for the transfer of secret data in digital images using number theory. For this purpose, the proposed method represents the cover image using the Fibonacci sequence. The representation of an image in the Fibonacci sequence allows increasing the bit planes from 8-bit to 12-bit planes. The experimental results of the proposed method in comparison with other existing steganographic methods exhibit that our method not only achieves high embedding of secret data but also gives high quality of stego images in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR). Furthermore, the robustness of the technique is also evaluated in the presence of salt and pepper noise attack on the cover images.

Special attention is currently paid to the solution of issues related to telecommunication equipment operating in the aquatic environment. The traditional underwater systems for the exchange of information in hydroacoustic fields are being replaced by open systems for its optical transmission and reception, based on laser technologies. This is due to the need to broadcast high-resolution video data, among which, for example, there can be either a visual display of underwater systems in dynamics, or the results of monitoring objects of underwater infrastructure in real time, or something else, taking into account the requirements of the Customer. The transmission channel of such a large amount of information, provided it is read with a specified quality, must have a bandwidth of more than 1 Mbit / s. Such a high transmission rate cannot be realized in underwater sonar systems, the technical capabilities limit of which does not exceed 10 ... 50 kbit/s. In a similar situation, given the parameters of the communication channel, the carrier frequencies of the optical range are 1014 Hz, which provides a dynamic bandwidth range about 1012…1013Hz. Taking into account the condition of quasimonochromaticity, the use of hydroacoustic means for transmitting video data becomes problematic, since the technical implementation of such a task will take too long. In view of the above, the advantage of underwater wireless optical communication systems is their high broadband, which will provide a high data transfer rate. The article substantiates the expediency of using open optical communication systems for creating high-speed underwater information telecommunications, among which the most preferable are laser systems.

Now a days, most of the data is transmitted between two devices using Wireless network. Although this has made it easier to transmit data, it also has its disadvantages. One of its disadvantage being the irregular data transfer due to the presence of congestion in the intermediate nodes. This paper proposes an idea to overcome the said disadvantage by developing a priority based proactive buffer management for the wireless network through the use of buffer which will be maintained at the source. The buffer is used to regulate the transmission rate of the data packets in accordance with the congestion level which is present in the transmission path. For faster transmission, the data packets having high priority are transmitted while the data packets having lower priority are dropped thereby reducing the quantity of data packets being transmitted, hence overcoming the problem of congestion.

The active introduction of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology is now beginning to be widely used in wireless transmission systems, television, radio communication, and radio broadcasting. The efficiency of using a dedicated frequency band at a constant high transmission rate allows you to combat interference arising from the transmission of a useful information on the radio channel. A method of improving quality of information transmission in communication systems with orthogonal frequency multiplexing is described. It is shown that with an increase in the number of receiving and transmitting antennas, the noise immunity increases significantly. An experiment was carried out to change the number of receiving-transmitting antennas and the signal-to-noise ratio, and the dependence of the appearance of an error on the number of transmitting antennas was obtained. The work investigated the software model of MIMO OFDM (modulators and demodulators). As a result of the analysis, the dependence of the appearance of the error frequency on the probability of the error was obtained. This showed that the use of OFDM and MIMO places increased demands on channel estimation.

Polarization is one of the physical characteristics of optical waves, and the polarization-division-multiplexing (PDM) scheme has gained much attraction thanks to its capability of achieving high transmission rate. In the PDM-based quantum key distribution (QKD), the key information could be encoded independently by the optical fields E x and E y , where the 2-dimensional modulation and orthogonal polarization multiplexing usually result in two-fold channel capacity. Unfortunately, the non-negligible polarization-dependent loss (PDL) caused by the crystal dichroism in optical devices may result in the signal distortion, leading to an imbalanced optical signal-to-noise ratio. Here, we present a polarization-pairwise coding (PPC) scheme for the PDM-based continuous-variable (CV) QKD systems to overcome the PDL problem. Numerical simulation results indicate that the PDL-induced performance degradation can be mitigated. In addition, the PPC scheme, tailored to be robust against a high level of PDL, offers a suitable solution to improve the performance of the PDM-based CVQKD in terms of the secret key rate and maximal transmission distance.

The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is an important idea in developing intelligent transportation systems and self-driving cars. Vehicles with various wireless networking options can communicate both inside and outside the vehicles. IoVs with cognitive radio (CR) enable communication between vehicles in a variety of communication scenarios, increasing the rate of data transfer and bandwidth. The use of CR can meet the future need for quicker data transport between vehicles and infrastructure (V2I). Vehicles with CR capabilities on VANET have a different appearance than regular VANET vehicles. This paper aims to develop effective spectrum management for CR-equipped automobiles. An improved channel decision model has been proposed with proven outcomes to boost the pace of transmission, eliminate end-to-end delays, and minimize the number of handoffs. Many high-bandwidth channels will be used in the near future to communicate large-sized multimedia content between vehicles and roadside units (RSU) for both entertainment and safety purposes. Co-operative sensing promotes energy-constrained CR vehicles for sensing a wide spectrum, resulting in high-quality communication channels for requesting vehicles. Our research on the CR-VANET focuses on channel decision instead of spectrum sensing and it differs from previous studies. We used the DAHP–TOPSIS model under multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA), a sub-domain of operations research, to boost profits, i.e., transmission rate with less computing time. We constructed a test-bed in MATLAB and carried out several analyses to demonstrate that the suggested model performs better than other parallel MCDA models because there has been a limited amount of research work conducted with CR-VANET
