The present study investigated the synthesis of mesoporous hollow carbon spheres (MHCS) and magnetic mesoporous hollow carbon spheres with core-shell structures (Fe3O4@MHCS). Two acetylcholinesterase sensors (acetylcholinesterase/mesoporous hollow carbon spheres/glassy carbon electrode (AChE/MHCS/GCE) and acetylcholinesterase/core-shell magnetic mesoporous hollow carbon spheres/glassy carbon electrode (AChE/Fe3O4@MHCS/GCE) based on mesoporous carbon materials were prepared. Under the optimum conditions, using Malathion as the model compound, the developed biosensors showed a wide detection range, low detection limit, good reproducibility, and high stability. The AChE/MHCS/GCE electrochemical sensor response exhibited two good linear ranges at the incubation time of 10 min at the Malathion concentration ranges of 0.01 to 100 ppb and 100 to 600 ppb, with a detection limit of 0.0148 ppb (S/N = 3). The AChE/Fe3O4@MHCS/GCE electrochemical sensor that was operated with an incubation time of 12 min at the malathion concentration ranges between 0.01–50 ppb and 50–600 ppb had a detection limit of 0.0182 ppb (S/N = 3). Moreover, the AChE/MHCS/GCE and AChE/Fe3O4@MHCS/GCE biosensors were effective for the detection of real samples, and were demonstrated to be suitable for the field-testing of organophosphorus pesticide (OP) residues.

In this work, a simple and sensitive electrochemical method sensor was developed to determine salbutamol based on magnetic NiFe2O4nanoparticles modified glassy carbon electrode. It was found the anodic peak current of salbutamol was linear with the concentration of salbutamol from 2.0 μM to 60 μM with a detection limit of 1.0 μM (S/N=3). The developed method was successfully applied to determine salbutamol content in pork samples with satisfactory results.

A Cu/TiO2 nanocomposite modified glassy carbon electrode (Cu/ /TiO2/GCE) was fabricated to detect methyldopa by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and different pulse voltammetry (DPV) methods. Compared with bare GCE, the Cu/TiO2/GCE exhibited excellent electrochemical activity for the oxidation of methyldopa. Using DPV technique, the calibration curves for methyldopa were found linear in the concentration range of 0.5?800.0 ?M and the detection limit (S/N = 3) was calculated to be 0.23 ?M. Additionally, the prepared electrochemical sensor of Cu/TiO2/GCE demonstrated a practical feasibility in methyldopa tablets and in urine samples analysis.

Background:: new and selective electrochemical sensor was developed for the determination of levocetirizine dihydrochloride, which is an antihistaminic drug. Method:: The investigation was performed by using cyclic, differential pulse and square wave voltammetric methods on the β-cyclodextrin modified glassy carbon electrode. It is thereby planned to obtain information about levocetirizine determination and its mechanism. Result:: The efficiency of experimental parameters including pH, scan rate, and accumulation potential and time on the anodic response of levocetirizine dihydrochloride was studied. By employing the developed method and under optimized conditions, the current showed linear dependence with a concentration in the range between 2 × 10-8 M and 6 × 10-6 M in pH 2.0 Britton Robinson (BR) buffer. Conclusion:: The achieved limits of detection and quantification were found as 3.73 × 10-10 M and 1.24 × 10-9 M, respectively. In addition, the possibility of applying the developed sensor for real sample analysis was investigated, so β-cyclodextrin modified glassy carbon electrode was used to determine levocetirizine dihydrochloride in Xyzal® tablet dosage form. Finally, this sensor was successfully applied to the real sample as a selective, simple, reproducible, repeatable electrochemical sensor.

The rapid quantification of capsaicinoids content is very important for the standardization of pungent taste degree and flavor control of soy sauce and pot-roast meat products. To rapidly quantify the capsaicinoids content in soy sauce and pot-roast meat products, an electrochemical sensor based on β-cyclodextrin/carboxylated multi-wall carbon nanotubes was constructed and the adsorptive stripping voltammetry method was used to enrich samples in this study. The results showed that the excellent performance of the established electrochemical sensor was mostly because β-cyclodextrin caused the relative dispersion of carboxylated multi-wall carbon nanotubes on the glassy carbon electrode surface. Capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin had similar electrochemical behavior, so the proposed method could determine the total content of capsaicinoids. The linearity of capsaicinoids content was from 0.5 to 100 μmol/L and the detection limit was 0.27 μmol/L. The recovery rates of different capsaicinoids content were between 83.20% and 136.26%, indicating the proposed sensor could realize trace detection of capsaicinoids content in sauce and pot-roast meat products. This work provides a research basis for pungent taste degree standardization and flavor control in the food industry.
