The static stability of hexapods motivates their design for tasks in which stable locomotion is required, such as navigation across complex environments. This task is of high interest due to the possibility of replacing human beings in exploration, surveillance and rescue missions. For this application, the control system must adapt the actuation of the limbs according to their surroundings to ensure that the hexapod does not tumble during locomotion. The most traditional approach considers their limbs as robotic manipulators and relies on mechanical models to actuate them. However, the increasing interest in model-free models for the control of these systems has led to the design of novel solutions. Through a systematic literature review, this paper intends to overview the trends in this field of research and determine in which stage the design of autonomous and adaptable controllers for hexapods is.

AbstractAnalyzing single particle trajectories is a prominent issue in understanding complex dynamics such as nanoparticle-cell interactions. Existing methods treat data points as isolated “atoms” and use predefined mechanical models to “frame” their complicated relationship. Herein, we propose a “historical evolution” based model-free strategy. It allows spatiotemporal heterogeneity embedded in a trajectory to self-emerge as consecutive colored segments before any model assumption, provide both an overall picture and local state transitions on the particle movement with minimum information loss, and inspire further model-based investigation. We demonstrate with simulations and experiments that the underlying mechanisms of various time-series and motion states of single nanoparticles on live cell membranes could all be revealed successfully. Since complexity studies at different levels of molecules, particles, cells, human beings, vehicles, and even stars could all be reduced to analyzing spatiotemporal trajectories of “single particles”, this presuppositionless approach will help fundamental researches on many important systems.Impact StatementA preprocessing strategy for single particle trajectory analysis is established by providing an intuitive global pattern from “historical experiences” of the particle without predefining any mechanical models.

Animal-assisted interventions (AAI) are a unique class of complementary medical treatments that can improve a patient’s quality of life, both physically and psychologically. Part I of this two-paper systematic literature review series focused on the study methods and quantitative results of researchers in this field. We continue this in-depth review here in Part II by discussing the common theories associated with AAI in the context of cancer. Of all the factors at work in human-animal interactions, researchers explicitly cite compatible animal personality, physical touch, physical movement, distraction/entertainment, and increased human interaction as the mechanisms responsible for the positive clinical outcomes observed in AAI. In various combinations, these mechanisms group under broader theoretical frameworks that attempt to fully explain the AAI context as it relates to cancer care. The social support hypothesis and the conception of a human-animal bond are the most referenced overarching frameworks. The cognitive activation theory of stress, the science of unitary human beings, and the self-object hypothesis are also referenced. We briefly consider other relevant theories commonly noted in the human-animal interactions literature that have the potential to clarify aspects of cancer-related AAI. We also discuss the neurobiological transduction mechanisms needed to connect theoretical frameworks and their mechanisms directly to the observed clinical outcomes. To advance the field, researchers should consider overarching theories with testable hypotheses when designing studies, and use consistent terminology when reporting results. This review lays a foundation for progress towards a unified theoretical framework and for effective treatment of the whole cancer patient.

In recent years, the software development methodology evolves from the traditional approach to agile software development. This paper attempted to conduct a systematic literature review (SLR) regarding the improved agile software development to tackle its weakness based on recent research papers. Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) as Systematic Literature Review Method (SLR). SLR is the review method which uses some protocols in order to minimize bias in the reviews. The improved of agile software methodology mostly regarding code reusability, usability, project quality, estimation, software delivery, usability, user responses and requirements delivery, communication between members, usability, practical activities, communication between team and stake holder, usability, workflow (learning), problem identification and effort estimation.

Purpose When plans fail, the form of making it happen leads to improvisation in practice, which is not sufficiently approached yet in the project management (PM) field. The main reason for the lack of research is that improvisation is predominantly seemed in a negative perspective. Due to the relevance of improvisation in the PM field, the purpose of this paper is to investigate how and why improvisation is applied in the PM context. This research address two questions: which are the key topics and studies linked with improvisation in the PM context?: how do the origin factors and the purpose influence improvisation in PM context? Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review was carried out through the merging of bibliometric analysis and content analysis. The systematic literature review aims to identify and synthesize the research on the theme, applying structured, transparent and replicable procedures for each phase of the process. These studies focus mainly on the identification of literature standards based on publication reviews. The sampling process follows the flow summarized in Figure 1. The searching process was based on two selected databases, the Web of Science and Scopus. The search strings applied were: (improvisation OR bricolage) AND “project management.” Findings The evolution of publications has shown the existence of a growing interest in the articles relating to improvisation and PM in recent years. The literature on improvisation in the PM context, allows to identify the key related constructs, origin factors and purposes. It also identifies the core relation among these constructs. The understanding of the effect of origin factors on the key related constructs was achieved. Improvisation appears not only as a strategy for adapting when dealing with urgent demands, but also as a team skill. Research limitations/implications As a limitation related to the research methods adopted, their exploratory nature is acknowledged, implying some subjectivity in the content analysis of the surveyed sample. The databases, search strings and selection criteria may also have narrowed the research sample. This study shows a lack of research on knowledge management, experience and resilience that can be a drive for future research. Other interesting insights for future research are that some origin factors are more related with some related constructs than others. Practical implications As practical implications, project practitioners can better understand how improvisation is related to PM. The results can bring insights to professionals such as to explore improvisation in uncertainty and complex environments, and to improve aspects like adaptation, intuition and innovation needs. Improvisation can be understood as a way to improve project results considering that it is a mechanism of management in the face of the inherent environment pressure and is related to ones who have experience and is not necessarily a consequence of lack of planning. Originality/value This paper contributes to the current literature in two ways. First, there is in-depth understanding of the literature on improvisation in the PM context, which allows to identify the key related constructs, origin factors and purposes. Moreover, it identifies the core relation among these constructs. Second, understanding of the effect of origin factors on the key related constructs was achieved.

Changes in the lifestyles of human beings keep up with science and technology in tandem with the growth of science and technology. As in all fields, expectations are influenced by the advancement of science and technology for the use of emerging technologies in educational environments. By empowering the physical world with virtual information, Augmented Reality (AR) creates new opportunities for education. The impact of uncertainty and scientific advances in the field of application has modified the definition of “AR Technology” to “AR Environments”. Within the scope of this study, it is aimed to analyze scientific studies on game-based learning and the use of AR in educational activities systematically. In this context, the “education area”, “the level of education of the participant”, “dependent variables”, “data collection tools”, “research methods used”, “type of AR used”, “software used in the development phase of the application”, factors such as “advantages and limitations towards the use of AR in a learning environment” are taken into consideration. In line with the purpose of the research and the specified criteria, a total of 53 scientific studies, which were scanned from scientific journals published in Turkey and abroad between 2016 and 2020, were analyzed using the systematic literature review method. As a result, findings regarding the effects of the game and AR-based learning environments in the learning processes for students are discussed. In addition, several recommendations for the creation and use of new educational games and AR applications have been created, which will help the gaps in AR studies and students' learning processes in terms of potential study.

The understanding and respect are gathered through travel to places, observing and appreciating the culture, living style of the natives. It has been discussed in many tourism summits, conferences, forums, and symposiums about the contribution of tourism towards peacebuilding in the world. Many scholars have also investigated the impact of tourism on creating and maintaining peace in selected conflicted areas. The purpose of this chapter is to examine the significance of tourism in sustainable peacebuilding across the globe through a systematic literature review approach to accomplish the objectives of the study. It presents the concept of peace tourism, the Global Peace Index's domain of militarisation, safety and security in society, national-international conflicts, global leaders, analysis of some countries in tourism development, and sustainability through peace tourism.
