This article concerns research on washing effectiveness of a high-pressure washing device. Three types of investigations were carried out: Laboratory tests on washing of crushed-stone and gravel aggregate, as well as pilot-scale tests on crushed-stone aggregate. Laboratory tests were conducted for four changeable parameters and pilot-scale investigations for three parameters. All tests were performed based on factorial experiment procedure. For each type of material there was built a model based on multiple regression method. Results of investigations showed that operating pressure in the washer has the highest effect on obtained washing effectiveness, measured as a degree of dust impurities’ removal from feed. The second parameter with the highest impact on washing process effectiveness was the maximum particle of feed, and its relationship to the obtained washing effectiveness appeared inversely proportional. For the crushed-stone aggregate the susceptibility of washing also appeared significant in models.

Social skills play an instrumental role in individuals’ life. It helps individuals to communicate and maintain social relationships. Presently, the smartphone has completely changed the mode of social communication, and social skills may play a crucial role in this regard. Thus, the aim of the present study is to investigate the association between social skills and perceived smartphone usage (both positive and negative usage). The perceived negative usage of the smartphone has been assessed in terms of smartphone addiction. Sample of the present study comprised of (n=509) adult participants. Pearson’s product moment correlation (r) and multiple regression method was employed to assess the relationship between the proposed variables. Findings of the study demonstrated that social skills are significantly related with both perceived positive usage of smartphone and smartphone addiction. Social expressivity and emotional control emerged as significant predictors for both positive usage of smartphone and smartphone addiction. The findings of the study may have important implications for bringing awareness among the individuals regarding the role of social skills for effective usage of smartphone as well as for future researches in this direction. Keywords: social skill, perceived positive smartphone usage, smartphone addiction, emotion expressivity, emotional control

Low dosage kinetic hydrate inhibitors are employed as alternatives to expensive thermodynamic inhibitors to manage the risk of hydrate formation inside oil and gas pipelines. These chemicals need to be tested at appropriate conditions in the laboratory before deployment in the field. A high pressure micro differential scanning calorimeter HP-μDSC VII (Setaram Inc.) containing two 50 cc high pressure cells (maximum operating pressure 40 MPa; temperature range –40 to 120 °C) was employed to observe methane hydrate formation and decomposition in the presence of hyperactive antifreeze protein from Rhagium mordax (RmAFP) and biodegradable synthetic kinetic inhibitor Luvicap Bio. A systematic capillary dispersion method was used, and this method enhanced the ability to detect the effect of various inhibitors on hydrate formation with small quantities. The presence of RmAFP and Luvicap Bio influence (inhibit) the hydrate formation phenomena significantly. Luvicap Bio (relative strength compared to buffer: 13.3 °C) is stronger than RmAFP (9.8 °C) as a nucleation inhibitor. However, the presence RmAFP not only delays hydrate nucleation but also reduces the amount of hydrate formed (20%–30%) after nucleation significantly. Unlike RmAFP, Luvicap Bio promoted the amount of hydrate formed after nucleation. The superior hydrate growth inhibition capability and predictable hydrate melting behavior compared to complex, heterogeneous hydrate melting with Luvicap Bio shows that RmAFP can be a potential natural green kinetic inhibitor for hydrate formation in pipelines.

The purpose of this research is to provide empirical evidence about the effect of operating cash flow, sales volatility, cash flow volatility, operating cycle, and book tax difference on earnings persistence. The company used in this research is manufacturing company listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2016 until 2020. Samples of this research were selected based on the purposive sampling method and resulted in 43 companies, therefore the data used for this research amounting to 215 data. The data obtained from these samples were analyzed using multiple regression method. The result of this research show that operating cycle have influence on earnings persistence. While operating cash flow, sales volatility, cash flow volatility, and book tax difference have no influence on earnings persistence.

Soil radon data were recorded at two selected sites along Mat fault in Mizoram (India), which lies in the highest seismic zone in India. The study was carried out during July 2011 to May 2013 using LR-115 Type II films. Precursory changes in radon concentration were observed prior to some earthquakes that occurred around the measuring sites. Positive correlation was found between the measured radon data and the seismic activity in the region. Statistical analysis of the radon data together with the meteorological parameters was done using Multiple Regression Method. Results obtained show that the method employed was useful for removing the effect of meteorological parameters and to identify radon maxima possibly caused by seismic activity.

From an analysis of the rise and fall off time of solar cycles 4 to 22, a recurrence tendency of 7 cycles is observed in the rise time and, apparently, of 9 cycles in the fall off time. The envelope of these times presents a decreasing amplitude of oscillation. According to this behaviour, the rise and fall length of future solar cycles until cycle 25 can be inferred qualitatively. These values are compared with those obtained with a multiple regression method showing a good agreement.

The spillover effect of economic activity from one area to another is due to the inter-sector linkages, which have implications for economic growth. This study examines and presents empirical evidence on the effects of economic growth in the districts of Siak, Pelalawan, Kampar, Kuantan singingi, and Bengkalis, which have spatial impacts on the economic growth of Pekanbaru City. Through quantitative methods with secondary data from the Regency / City Central Statistics Agency in Riau Province, the data used is the Gross Regional Domestic Product from 2010 to 2019, then analyzed using the Multiple regression method. The study results show that Kampar, Kuantan singingi, Pelalawan, and Siak districts have a significant effect on the economic growth of Pekanbaru City, while Bengkalis does not affect. Not all of the natural resources owned by each district can provide a spillover effect of growth. However, a dominant sector in absorbing labor will provide a spillover effect of economic growth from one region to another. Keyword: Regional Spillover Effect. Economic Growht, Multiple Regression. The Minas-Rio Project is the biggest project from Anglo American in the world and considers Vertimill in the regrinding circuit to adequate the particle size distribution to feed slurry pipeline that will pump the ore from Conceição do Mato Dentro in Minas Gerais State to Acu Port in Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil. A Vertimill pilot test campaign was carried out at Metso's pilot plant facility located in York city, Pennsylvania State, USA, to provided information to sizing the industrial grinding circuit. The main objective of this work is proposing a way to simulate the industrial Vertimill using the population balance model, normally used to simulate ball mills. The simulations were based on the selection and breakage functions determined from the laboratory tests using a batch ball mill. The simulations were performed using a Vertimill model implemented in the ModsimTM plant-wide simulator. The results of simulations shows that was possible to simulate the pilot tests, with good accuracy, considering simple laboratory tests with small quantities of samples.
