The literary framework of Solomon Ibn Gabirol’s Fons Vitae is a conversation between a master and a disciple. In this article, the nature of the disciple’s questions will be analyzed in order to explain the advantages of the dialogical process in Ibn Gabirol’s thought. The literary framework of Judah ha-Levi’s Kitāb al-Khazarī is similar to that of Fons Vitae. Ha-Levi’s composition is built as a conversation that allegedly took place between the king of the Khazars and a Jewish scholar (ḥaver). Analysis of the king’s responses to the ḥaver shows that the king did not fully understand the ḥaver’s lessons, in which the deep meaning of Judaism is taught. In this article, the king’s responses will be analyzed and, likewise, the question of Judah ha-Levi’s intention in using this literary sophistication. As is shown in this article both famous Andalusian poets and thinkers, R. Judah ha-Levi and R. Solomon Ibn Gabirol, masters of linguistic phrasing and style, used the dialogical form not only as an opportunity to present their world views, but also as a method by which to critique their own philosophies.

Color in human life has a very important role. With color, humans can identify something that appears in front of them. There is a strong relationship between color and one’s emotions that can even cause a feeling that is unique to a person. Karo bridal jewelry uses gold as a whole, from bracelets, necklaces to earrings worn by the bride and groom. This study focuses on the role of gold in Karo bridal jewelry in influencing the perception of the bride and groom in living a new household. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The results showed that the perception of the gold color in the Karo people, especially the bride and groom, had a very deep meaning, namely the value of responsibility, the value of hard work, the value of honesty and the value of prosperity expected in domestic life. The perception of value that arises from the gold color of jewelry reflects that both the bride and the extended family must be able to become role models who have luxurious and effective symbols such as gold.ABSTRAK Warna di dalam kehidupan manusia memiliki peranan yang sangat penting. Dengan warna manusia dapat mengidentifikasi sesuatu yang tampak dihadapannya. Terdapat keterkaitan kuat antara warna dengan emosi seseorang yang bahkan dapat menimbulkan suatu perasaan yang khas dari diri seseorang. Perhiasan pengantin Karo menggunakan warna emas secara keseluruhan mulai dari gelang, kalung sampai dengan anting yang dikenakan oleh kedua pengantin. Penelitian ini memfokuskan peran warna emas pada perhiasan pengantin Karo dalam mempengaruhi persepsi pengantin dalam menjalani rumah tangga yang baru. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persepsi warna emas pada masyarakar Karo khususnya kedua pengantin memiliki arti yang sangat dalam yaitu nilai tanggung jawab, nilai kerja keras, nilai kejujuran serta nilai kemakmuran yang diharapkan dalam kehidupan rumah tangga. Persepsi nilai yang timbul dari warna emas perhiasan mencerminkan kedua pengantin dan keluarga besar harus mampu menjadi panutan yang memiliki simbol mewah dan tepat guna seperti emas. Kata Kunci : Emas; Perhiasan; Pengantin Karo

This chapter reviews the constructivist approach to Hindu–Christian conflict that is recognized with the instrumentalists and discusses the important role of material interests while acknowledging that religion really does matter. It explains how religion provides to proponents of Hindutva a convenient organizing principle that unites disparate local conflicts. It also explores the unifying banner that serves the interests of the largely upper-caste Hindu leaders of the Sangh Parivar that enables them to unify Hindus against a common, external enemy. The chapter describes the Hindu–Christian conflict in India that is often framed by proponents of Hindutva as a clash of incompatible world views. It refers to Hindus associated with the Sangh that perceive in the universalizing religion of Christianity as an implicit rejection of their view that religions are and should be ethnic.

In this response to the contributions in this special issue dedicated to his latest book In vredesnaam, Gijs Dingemans first indicates several major recent changes in the world views of western societies. Next, he indicates how the role of churches and religions has changed over the last 25 years, from ‘dominance’ to ‘dialogue’. Finally, he analyzes how a theological position that puts the concept of the covenant central stage can embark on a fruitful dialogue with our present-day society whose intellectual under-pinnings must be seen in theories of a contractual agreement of free individuals rather than in outdated theories of a natural law.

This article shows that there are at least two key hermeneutical tensions in evangelical feminist interpretation of the Bible. The first hermeneutical tension concern the issue of readers' prejudices. Feminists remind us that readers are always disposed to read texts against the background of their own expectations, customs, and world views. And the second hermeneutical tension, namely the tension over the nature of the actual practices of the first century church. Evangelical feminists have tended to give different answers depending on the passage that they are interpreting. In sum, feminism in its hermeneutical principles alerts us to the role of reader prejudice and social background in understanding texts. KEYWORDS: Hermeneutic, feminist, prejudice, Christian

Подчеркивается значение лингвокультурологического аспекта в лингвистических исследованиях, в частности, в сопоставительных исследованиях родтсвенных языков, как кыргызский и турецкий языки. В данной работе с помощью лингвокультурологического анализ концепта «эл/калк-el/halk/millet» (народ) выявляются сходтво и различие в кыргызском и турецком мировоззрениях. Сравниваются фразеологизмы, устойчивые выражения и пословицы двух родственных языков, отражающие концепт ««эл/калк-el/halk/millet». Также в статье рассматривается место концепта «эл/el» в кыргызской и турецкой культурах в рамках категории «свой-чужой». Целью данной работы является отметить важность учёта мировоззрения и культуры в сопостовительно-сравнительных лингвистических исследованиях на примере концепта «эл/el» в турецком и кыргызском языках. The article deals with the issue of the language and culture relations, goals, objectives, object and subject of linguo cultural studıes. The importance of studying the language in the cultural aspect is emphasized where cultural peculiarities must be taken into consideration in comparative studies in the Kyrgyz and Turkish languages in particular. In this paper, using linguistic-cultural analysis of the concept of ««эл/калк-el/ halk/millet» « (people), the similarities and differences in the Kyrgyz and Turkish world- views are revealed. Examples of set expressions and proverbs of two languages reflecting the concept of «el / el» are picked up and their meanings are interpreted. The article also discusses the role of the concept of «el / el» in the category of «friend or foe». The purpose of this work is to point out the importance of taking into account the worldview of two cultures in comparative research comparing the concept of ««эл/калк-el/halk/millet» « in the Turkish and Kyrgyz languages. This study examines community service effects on adolescents’ prosocial behaviors as mediated through experiences made during service. Based on theoretical assumptions by Youniss and Yates, we suggest that personal agency experiences and being confronted with situations that can challenge the own world views (ideology experiences) serve as mediators. The data were collected in a two-wave longitudinal study surveying 2,408 German adolescents aged between 14 and 15 years. Based on true intraindividual change models, the results support the expected mediation of service effects on prosocial behaviors through agency, but not ideology experiences. The findings suggest that community service affects prosocial behaviors through a behavioral pathway.

AbstrakUpacara Larungan merupakan salah satu tradisi peninggalan leluhur yang diwujudkan dengan melarungkan sesaji ke Telaga Ngebel. Tradisi ini dilaksanakan setiap satu tahun sekali pada tanggal 1 Suro atau 1 Muharram. Tujuan dilaksanakannya larungan ini adalah sebagai ungkapan rasa syukur kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa atas berkah yang telah diberikan. Upacara larungan tersebut memiliki makna mendalam bagi masyarakat Ngebel, karena masyarakat percaya akan datangnya malapetaka apabila tidak melaksanakannya.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: (1) partisipasi masyarakat dalam upacara larungan, (2) kearifan lokal upacara larungan dapat mewujudkan harmonisasi sosial masyarakat, (3) peran pemerintah desa dalam mencegah konflik dengan memanfaatkan kearifan lokal upacara larungan.Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah Pemerintah Desa Ngebel, tokoh masyarakat Desa Ngebel dan masyarakat Desa Ngebel. Pengumpulan data dikumpulkan dengan teknik wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah data reduction, data display, dan conclusion drawing/verification. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) partisipasi masyarakat Desa Ngebel dalam upacara larungan tergolong aktif dibuktikan dengan keikutsertaan masyarakat dalam rangkain kegiatan yang sudah disusun oleh panitia pelaksana; (2) nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam upacara larungan antara lain: nilai religi, nilai hiburan, nilai kekerabatan, nilai keindahan dan nilai simbolik. Kearifan lokal dalam upacara larungan memiliki kekuatan untuk menumbuhkan rasa persatuan sehingga membuat persaudaraan masyarakat semakin kuat yang menjadikan masyarakat dapat hidup damai dan harmonis; (3) nilai kearifan lokal dalam upacara larungan yang menjunjung semangat persatuan dimanfaatkan pemerintah desa dan stakeholders dalam menyelesaikan konflik yang timbul di masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Kearifan Lokal, Upacara Larungan, dan Harmonisasi AbstractUpacara Larungan is one of the ancestral heritage that is realized by washed away the offerings to Telaga Ngebel. this tradition is carried out once every year on the 1st of Suro or 1st Muharram. The purpose of doing this ban is as an expression of gratitude to the all-powerful God for the blessings that have been given. The upacara larungan has deep meaning for Ngebel society, because people believe it will come disastrous if not implement it.This study aims to describe: (1) community participation in upacara larungan, (2) local wisdom of upacara larungan can realize social harmonization of society, (3) role of village government in preventing conflict by exploiting local wisdom of upacara larungan.This research uses qualitative research with descriptive method. The data sources used are Ngebel Village Government, Ngebel village community leaders and Ngebel Village community. Data collection was collected by interview, documentation and observation techniques. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, display data, and conclusion drawing/verification.The results of the study showed (1) the participation of Ngebel Village communities in the upacara larungan is classified as actively evidenced by the participation of the community in the series of activities that have been prepared by the organizing committe; (2) the values of local wisdom contained in the upacara larungan include: religious value, entertainmen value, kinship value, beauty value and siymbolic value. Local wisdom in the upacara larungan has the power to foster a sense of unity that makes the community fraternity stronger that makes the people can live in peace and harmony; (3) the value of local wisdom in the upacara larungan that upholds the spirit of unity utilized by the village government and stakeholders in resolving conflicts arising in the community. Keywords:Local Wisdom, Upacara Larungan, and Harmonization
