As China proposes to achieve carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, as well as the huge pressure on the power grid caused by the load demand of the energy supply stations of electric vehicles (EVs), there is an urgent need to carry out comprehensive energy management and coordinated control for EVs’ energy supply stations. Therefore, this paper proposed a two-step intelligent control method known as ISOM-SAIA to solve the problem of the 24 h control and regulation of green/flexible EV energy supply stations, including four subsystems such as a photovoltaic subsystem, an energy storage subsystem, an EV charging subsystem and an EV battery changing subsystem. The proposed control method has two main innovations and contributions. One is that it reduces the computational burden by dividing the multi-dimensional mixed-integer programming problem of simultaneously optimizing the 24 h operation modes and outputs of four subsystems into two sequential tasks: the classification of data-driven operation modes and the rolling optimization of operational outputs. The other is that proper carbon transaction costs and carbon emission constraints are considered to help save costs and reduce carbon emissions. The simulation analysis conducted in this paper indicates that the proposed two-step intelligent control method can help green/flexible EV energy supply stations to optimally allocate energy flows between four subsystems, effectively respond to peak shaving and valley filling of power grid, save energy costs and reduce carbon emissions.

The cascaded energy storage system has received extensive attention in areas such as new energy consumption, maintaining stable operation of the power grid, and supporting black start due to its advantages such as high access voltage level, large single unit capacity, and fast dynamic response rate. This paper aimed to improve the fault ride-through capability of the cascaded energy storage system, and proposed a fault ride-through control method. Firstly, the mathematical model of the cascaded energy storage system was established, and then the rapid detection method of the abnormal state of the power grid and the fault ride-through method were analyzed, and finally the simulation analysis was performed. The feasibility and correctness of the control method can be seen from the experiments.

Peak-shaving is a very efficient and practical strategy for a day-ahead hydropower scheduling in power systems, usually aiming to appropriately schedule hourly (or in less time interval) power generations of individual plants so as to smooth the load curve while enforcing the energy production target of each plant. Nowadays, the power marketization and booming development of renewable energy resources are complicating the constraints and diversifying the objectives, bringing challenges for the peak-shaving method to be more flexible and efficient. Without a pre-set or fixed peak-shaving order of plants, this paper formulates a new peak-shaving model based on the mixed integer linear programming (MILP) to solve the scheduling problem in an optimization way. Compared with the traditional peak-shaving methods that need to determine the order of plants to peak-shave the load curve one by one, the present model has better flexibility as it can handle the plant-based operating zones and prioritize the constraints and objectives more easily. With application to six cascaded hydropower reservoirs on the Lancang River in China, the model is tested efficient and practical in engineering perspective.

With the rapid development of the world economic construction and the shortage of energy, it has become a hot research issue to realize the electrification of the vehicle driving system and improve energy efficiency. Most of the electric construction machinery power systems are characterized by low speed and high load. The coordinated driving of multiple motors can increase the output torque and improve the transmission efficiency of the machine on the basis of a compact layout. A novel configuration of electric construction vehicles based on multi-motor and single-speed and its driving torque distribution control method is presented in this paper. The detailed mathematical model is established and the simulation analysis is carried out based on it. The results show that the proposed multi-motor driving system with the control strategy can improve the overall efficiency in the condition of ensuring the driving force when the parameter matching and motors choosing reasonably.

A sliding mode controller for semi-active suspension system of a quarter car is designed with sliding model varying structure control method. This controller chooses Skyhook as a reference model, and to force the tracking error dynamics between the reference model and the plant in an asymptotically stable sliding mode. An equal near rate is used to improve the dynamic quality of sliding mode motion. Simulation result shows that the stability of performance of the sliding-mode controller can effectively improve the driving smoothness and safety.
