In the current paper, ion transport parameters in poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) based solid polymer electrolyte were examined using Trukhan model successfully. The desired amount of lithium trifluoromethanesulfonate (LiCF3SO3) was dissolved in PVA host polymer to synthesis of solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs). Ion transport parameters such as mobility (μ), diffusion coefficient (D), and charge carrier number density (n) are investigated in detail using impedance spectroscopy. The data results from impedance plots illustrated a decrement of bulk resistance with an increase in temperature. Using electrical equivalent circuits (EEC), electrical impedance plots (ZivsZr) are fitted at various temperatures. The results of impedance study demonstrated that the resistivity of the sample decreases with increasing temperature. The decrease of resistance or impedance with increasing temperature distinguished from Bode plots. The dielectric constant and dielectric loss values increased with an increase in temperature. The loss tangent peaks shifted to higher frequency region and the intensity increased with an increase in temperature. In this contribution, ion transport as a complicated subject in polymer physics is studied. The conductivity versus reciprocal of temperature was found to obey Arrhenius behavior type. The ion transport mechanism is discussed from the tanδ spectra. The ion transport parameters at ambient temperature are found to be 9 × 10−8 cm2/s, 0.8 × 1017 cm−3, and 3 × 10−6 cm2/Vs for D, n, andμ respectively. All these parameters have shown increasing as temperature increased. The electric modulus parameters are studied in an attempt to understand the relaxation dynamics and to clarify the relaxation process and ion dynamics relationship.

Ionic conductivity of the polyethylene oxide-LiClO4 (PEOnLiClO4) solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) films with an EO:Li ratio (n) of 10, 12, 15, as well as the hybrid composite solid polymer electrolyte (CSPE) films of PEOnLiClO4 containing 50 wt% of cubic-Li7La3Zr2O12 (LLZO) sub-micron sized particles, have been studied by varying Li-salt content in the films. The complex AC dielectric permittivity and conductivity data obtained from electrical impedance measurements were fitted using a generalized power-law, including the effects of electrode polarization applied at low AC frequencies to obtain various relaxation times. In addition to increased mechanical and thermal robustness, the CSPE films show higher values of ionic conductivity, >10−4 S/cm at room temperature compared to those of SPE films with n = 12 and 15. On the contrary, the ionic conductivity of CSPE with n = 10 decreases by a factor of three compared to the corresponding SPE film due to increased polymer structural reorientation and Li-ion pairing effects. The Vogel–Tammann–Fulcher behavior of the temperature-dependent conductivity data indicates a close correlation between the ionic conductivity and polymer segmental relaxation. The PEO12LiClO4-LLZO film shows the lowest activation energy of ~0.05 eV.

In the present work, solid polymer electrolyte using poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) and magnesium perchlorate (Mg(ClO4)2) in different compositions has been prepared by the solution-casting technique method. Surface feature of films was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) measurement. X-ray diffraction (XRD) was used to determine the complexation of the polymer with the salt. The electrophysical characteristics were measured and analyzed as dependent on the concentration, nature of the solid polymer electrolyte component and ambient temperature. A maximum ionic conductivity value of ∼10–4 S/cm at 303 K is obtained for PVA0.6/(Mg(ClO4)2)0.4 composite. The ionic transference number of Mg+2 mobile ions has been estimated by a dc polarization method. The result reveals that the conducting species are predominantly ions.

The solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) composed of Poly (ethylene oxide) (PEO) with sodium trifluoromethanesulfonate (NaCF3SO3) salt has been prepared by solution casting technique. The conductivity and dielectric of the solid polymer electrolyte systems were studied within the broad frequency range of 50 Hz–1 MHz and within a temperature range of 30 ˚C to 100 ˚C. The samples were prepared by various salt concentrations ranging from 2 wt% to 22 wt%. The sample containing 18 wt% of NaCF3SO3 salt exhibit the highest ionic conductivity of 1.091 x 10-5 Scm-1 at 30 ˚C. The conductivity of the SPEs has been found to depend on the salt concentration that was added to the sample. When higher salt concentration was added, ionic conductivity decreased due to the association of ions. The temperature of conductivity from 30 ˚C to 100 ˚C of SPEs was found to obey the Arrhenius rule. The dielectric permittivity decreased rapidly towards high frequencies due to the electrode polarization effects.
