Subsidiaries typically start out as a company division. As the company expands its product lines, the regions it operates in, or the customers it serves, the company is likely to combine the related research and development, procurement, production, and sales departments into a relatively discrete organizational structure. As such, the head of the division is often of equal importance as the company president. In particular, when the product has a competitive advantage, the head of the division has more authority in the company’s future operational planning. Thus, when a company has a multidivisional organizational structure, the heads of those divisions typically have considerable responsibilities. In this study, literature data were combined with a fuzzy Delphi expert questionnaire survey to determine the constructs and criteria for assessing candidates for division manager. Subsequently, the fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL) and the fuzzy DEMATEL-based analytic network process were used to identify the causal relationships between criteria and their weights, and the fuzzy technique for the order of preference by similarity to ideal solution was used to rank the solutions to approximate the company’s optimal candidate for division manager and provide the ideal decision-making solutions, which may offer companies with the reference of selecting the senior executives.

Every company has management providing wages or rewards to employees. This is because employees are one of the resources that are used as a driving force in advancing a company. Besides, many companies provide rewards to their employees with the aim of motivating employees to help more. There is management problem in PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital for determining the number of rewards obtained by employees because many variables are determined. Therefore, the need of management information system can facilitate the Management of the PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital in determining decision making for providing rewards. One method that is often used in implementing decision support systems is Multiple Attribute Decision Making (MADM), focusing TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference with Similarities to Ideal Solutions). By the implementation of the decision support system, PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital can carry out the selection process more efficiently.The test results by matching the employee data results at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital obtained 95.83% accuracy so that this system can help the PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital in determining employee rewards.

In today’s changing environment two properties are required to service namely good relation with customers and service quality. Nowadays no organization can get great achievement unless it can attract sufficient customers providing better service quality is important for service firms. This paper proposes a novel combined approach utilizing group decision making process to evaluate and rank criteria influencing the customer relationship management and service quality of four banks in Iran based on fuzzy decision making trial and evaluation laboratory (Fuzzy DEMATEL) and fuzzy analytic network process (Fuzzy ANP). Defuzzification of decision makers’ judgments is handled by Converting Fuzzy data into Crisp Scores (CFCS) method. Fuzzy DEMATEL is applied to deal with inner dependencies among criteria. Fuzzy ANP is used to compute final ranking of four banks as an empirical example. An empirical study is presented to illustrate the application of the proposed method.

With the deepening reform of the power market, the external environment of China’s power industry is going through a huge change. China’s traditional power generation groups (TPGGs), with assets all over the country, are, due to a lack of market awareness about energy policies, facing serious challenges in developing competitive advantages, improving power transaction modes, optimizing profit models, and even realizing basic corporate strategies. In this study, we focus on identifying the key factors influencing sustainable development in an unprecedented market environment for TPGGs, so as to achieve overall sustainable development for the whole power generation sector in China. A hybrid framework based on Multiple-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) was proposed to recognize the key influencing factors under vague rule conditions. We developed a novel method combining three different MCDM methods with triangular fuzzy numbers (TFNs), fuzzy Delphi, fuzzy Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), and Analytic Network Process (ANP), to cover uncertainty and make the problem-solving approach closer to the actual problem. A series of analyses indicate that the final 14 factors covering the five dimensions are considered to be important factors in the sustainable development of TPGGs. Based on the results, it can be said that “Gross energy margin” and “Pricing bidding strategy” dominate the impacts of TPGG’s sustainable development. Finally, we give some advice relating to practical measures to help TPGGs achieve sustainable development in the market-oriented industry environment.

The aim of this applied research is to focus on real-life application of multiple attribute decision making (MADM) methods and their adaptation in a way which can be acceptable for business practice. The study will apply the group decision making methods on a Balanced Scorecard (BSC) as a type of performance measurement and strategic decision making. The study is mainly concerned with multiple criteria decomposition method of analytic network process (ANP) method, WINGS technique and entropy. This group of methods had been already applied in several business domains. However, majority of the implementation was only presented as an example how it could work in practice, but they were not investigated from the perspective of how much information they could provide to the management. In this paper, proposed methods will be used to determine which criteria are most important for the company within the Balanced Scorecard and results of all methods will be compared. The aim of this study is, by utilizing group MADM approach, to discover the areas of the BSC which must be improved so that a total performance increases.

This paper proposes a cross-entropy measure between dual hesitant fuzzy sets (DHFSs) as an extension of the cross-entropy measures of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Then the cross-entropy measure between DHFSs is applied to multiple attribute decision making under dual hesitant fuzzy environments. Through the weighted cross-entropy measure between each alternative and the ideal alternative, we can obtain the ranking order of all alternatives and the best one. The decision-making method based on the cross-entropy measure of DHFSs can deal with dual hesitant fuzzy multiple attribute decision making problems and can automatically take into account much more information than existing hesitant (or intuitionistic) fuzzy decision-making methods and the differences of the evaluation data given by different experts or decision makers. Finally, a practical example about investment alternatives is given to demonstrate the application and effectiveness of the developed approach.

We first define an accuracy function of hesitant fuzzy elements (HFEs) and develop a new method to compare two HFEs. Then, based on Einstein operators, we give some new operational laws on HFEs and some desirable properties of these operations. We also develop several new hesitant fuzzy aggregation operators, including the hesitant fuzzy Einstein weighted geometric (HFEWGε) operator and the hesitant fuzzy Einstein ordered weighted geometric (HFEWGε) operator, which are the extensions of the weighted geometric operator and the ordered weighted geometric (OWG) operator with hesitant fuzzy information, respectively. Furthermore, we establish the connections between the proposed and the existing hesitant fuzzy aggregation operators and discuss various properties of the proposed operators. Finally, we apply the HFEWGεoperator to solve the hesitant fuzzy decision making problems.

PurposeInternational collaboration is a crucial requirement of entrepreneurship, particularly in developing emerging economies. This collaboration seems so necessary in the food industry as a major contributor to environmental, social and economic problems. This paper aims to identify, analyse the influential network relationship and prioritise the key success factors (KSFs) of international collaboration formation in the entrepreneurial food industry with a case study on Iran's emerging economy.Design/methodology/approachTo identify a list of KSFs, a qualitative method, literature review, is initially used. A quantitative method, fuzzy-Delphi, then is employed to finalise the main KSFs based on the entrepreneurial food industry experts' opinion. To analyse the causal relationship, and prioritise the KSFs, a fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (DEMATEL)-analytic network process (ANP) methodology, i.e. FDANP, is applied. At the first stage, the cause–effect diagram of KSFs is extracted using fuzzy DEMATEL and then, the KSFs weights and priorities are evaluated using a fuzzy ANP.FindingsThe results illustrate that the characteristics of effective development workers are the leading dimension of a successful international collaboration that directly affects other dimensions. On the other hand, increased marketing and trading is the most important KSF that is directly related to international entrepreneurial collaboration team capabilities and professionalism. The leading and casual role of team members also plays a vital role in strategic and communication issues affecting the collaboration success, e.g. market research and new product development. Availability of financial resources and the ability of partners in continuous financing is also a crucial and required factor for a successful collaboration.Originality/valueUsing an extensive review of the literature to extract the KSFs of international entrepreneurial collaboration and finalising them using a fuzzy-Delphi method and examining the cause-effect relations between them, as well as prioritising the KSFs are the main contributions of this paper.

The Company is one of the jobs that was founded to reduce unemployment. The progress of a company is determined by the human resources that exist within the company. So, the selection of workers will join the company need to be selected first. The hardest thing in making a selection factor is the effort to eliminate the subjectivity of the personnel manager so that every choice made is objective based on the criteria expected by the company. To help determine who is accepted as an employee in the company, we need a method that can provide a valid decision. Therefore, we use Fuzzy Multiple Attribute Decision Making with Simple Additive Weighting method (SAW) to decide to make in human resource recruitment. This method was chosen because it can provide the best alternative from several alternatives. In this case, the alternative is that the applicants or candidates. This research was conducted by finding the weight values for each attribute. Then do the ranking process that determines the optimal alternative to the best applicants who qualify as employees of the company. Based on calculations by the SAW obtained the two highest ranking results are A5 (alternative 5) and A1 (alternative 1), to obtain two candidates received.

The use of new, digitally enabled innovations, such as building information modeling (BIM), raises issues such as the delineation of a competent leader. Even though BIM-based competency assessment models have become essential tools for maximizing the potential values of BIM implementation, the current competency models provide limited focus on leadership aspects that facilitate and enhance the BIM implementation efforts. This paper seeks to identify the specific competencies required for BIM implementation and examines the relationships between these competencies. Thirty-two experts from around the globe investigated a total of 15 leadership competencies under three categories pertaining to intellectual, managerial, and emotional leadership. Fuzzy Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) was implemented to examine the cause-and-effect relationships among the BIM leadership competencies and fuzzy analytic network process (ANP) was performed to weigh those competencies. Findings show that the intellectual competencies act as the cause group, while managerial and emotional competencies are the effect groups. Moreover, the involving leadership is found to be the more suitable leadership style for BIM professionals, given the current capability and maturity levels of BIM implementation, in order to deal with the required changes throughout the BIM implementation process. This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge in the BIM domain to examine the associated leadership competencies by using the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) technique. The results of this research show the relative importance of criteria and sub-criteria, which contributes to further improvement of BIM leadership.

The Maclaurin symmetric mean (MSM) was originally introduced by Maclaurin. The prominent characteristic of the MSM is that it can capture the interrelationship among the multi-input arguments. However, the researches on MSM are very rare, especially in fuzzy decision making. In this paper, we investigate the MSM operator and extend the MSM operator to interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy environment and develop the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy Maclaurin symmetric mean (IVIFMSM) operator. Some desirable properties and special cases of IVIFMSM operator are discussed in detail. Based on IVIFMSM operator, an approach to multiple attribute decision making problems with interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy information is developed. Finally, an illustrative example for online advertising publisher evaluation is given to verify the developed approach and to demonstrate its practicality and effectiveness.
