In the present paper, a wavelet method is proposed to study the impact of electronic media on economic situation. More precisely, wavelet techniques are applied versus classical methods to analyze economic indices in the market. The technique consists firstly of filtering the data from unprecise circumstances (noise) to construct next a wavelet denoised contingency table. Next, a thresholding procedure is applied to such a table to extract the essential information porters. The resulting table subject finally to correspondence analysis before and after thresholding. As a case of study, the KSA 2030-vision is considered in the empirical part based on electronic and social media. Effects of the electronic media texts about the trading 2030 vision on the Saudi and global economy has been studied. Recall that the Saudi market is the most important representative market in the GCC continent. It has both regional and worldwide influence on economies and besides, it is characterized by many political, economic and financial movements such as the worldwide economic NEOM project. The findings provided in the present paper may be applied to predict the future situation of markets in GCC region and may constitute therefore a guide for investors to decide about investing or not in these markets.

The development of SMEs and home industries in Indonesia is so rapid, considering that most of the business scope is in this sector. However, the development of these SMEs has not been accompanied by progress in infrastructure, good governance, knowledge, and skills, so that the improvement in the business performance of these SMEs tends to be stagnant. Besides, changes in people's consumption patterns in the industrial era 4.0 caused a shift in the shopping lifestyle from people who shop directly at outlets and malls, to people who prefer the online shop. If UKM does not seize this opportunity, then its existence will be eroded by the times. Therefore, SMEs must be able to be proactive and improve its competitiveness by mastering ICT technology. This technology, such as social media (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.) plays an essential role in the promotion and marketing efforts. The primary purpose is to show the impact of knowledge transfer between universities (tutors) and UKM Dewi-Dewi (as trainees). The method used is to compare the proportions of participants' answers before and after the training. The results obtained indicate an increase in understanding of E-commerce, which is 80% to 96% or double that before training was held. Therefore, there is a need for further assistance so that the benefits of E-commerce training can be felt.Keywords: Dewi-Dewi UKM, Training, E-Commerce

Abstract Introduction Effective August 2018, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) required that nicotine addiction warnings be placed on ads for nicotine containing e-liquids. As per FDA comments, this provision pertains to visual ads communicated via social media, raising questions about compliance within the large e-liquid promotion community on Instagram. Aims and Methods This study examines use of warnings on promotional Instagram posts before and after provisions took effect on August 10, 2018. Netlytic was used to gather a sample of 500 promotional #eliquid and #ejuice posts from: May 2017, October 2017, March 2018, August 2018, and September 2018. The 1500 prewarning and 1000 postwarning posts were coded using content analysis. Changes in products and marketing strategies were also considered. Post volume was tracked monthly between May 2017 and February 2020. Results In the prewarning period, nicotine warning statements were absent on all posts. Following August 10, 2018, FDA compliant warnings were present on 13.6% of posts. Among US-based posts, 36.4% used the warnings, with warnings more common on posts made by e-liquid brands (52.3%) and posts promoting e-liquids with nicotine (40.0%). Promotional strategies and products did not significantly change. The share of posts made by US Instagram users decreased by 11%, although total post volume continued to grow. Conclusions Many e-liquid promotion posts on Instagram remained noncompliant with nicotine warnings after FDA provisions took effect. The large volume of international users also limited the impact of FDA-mandated warnings on the social media environment. Implications Further guidance and enforcement are needed to ensure that US e-liquid marketers on visual social media platforms adhere to current provisions, particularly for individual social media users who are sponsored by industry. The inherently global span of social media also indicates the importance of a shared approach to marketing regulations. Further work is needed to assess enforcement strategies viable for the social media environment.

BackgroundApps can potentially support asthma self-management; however, attracting downloads and encouraging on-going adherence are challenging.ObjectivesWe observed the impact of different recruitment strategies and app features on adoption and continued use.MethodsPractice nurses in five practices in Lothian/Oxford approached adults with active asthma to try out a prototype app. We also advertised the app via social media (Asthma UK; AUK Centre for Applied Research). We observed patients’ download and retention rates and sent pre- and post-trial questionnaires. We sampled 15 patients for interviews before and after using our app for 1 month to explore motivations, triggers and barriers to adoption and usage. Interviews were transcribed and analysed thematically with reference to the Fogg behaviour model.ResultsSocial media attracted 87 users, but only 15 (17%) used the app for 30 days. Practices recruited 24 patients, 13 (54%) continued for 30 days. Successful adoption was dependent on ease of downloading and sufficient motivation. Some patients needed technological assistance with downloading the app and starting to use the features. Adherence was dependent on motivation derived from a sense that the healthcare professional and/or researcher was interested in the results, and that using an app to support their self-management could improve their asthma control.ConclusionSocial media attracted more downloads in a short time. However, most patients stopped using the app within a month. Practices attracted fewer downloads, but patents adhered longer to the app. Dual promotion strategies (social media with practice support) may be the optimal approach to encourage adoption and adherence to telehealth.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of customers' attitudes towards traditional and social media marketing on brand trust and purchase intention. Reviewing the extant literature unveiled that the subject of traditional versus social media marketing in the airline market is not sufficiently studied. Thus, we studied the mentioned subject in Turkey because the aviation sector has shown noteworthy improvements due to a significant increasing volume of e-commerce, not only on the passenger side but also on the cargo side as well. On the other hand, thanks to the passenger demand growth since starting the recent century, the Turkish airline industry leads a giant contribution to the enlargement of the global economy due to the increasing number of connections and falling air transport costs. Data was gathered in Istanbul airports from 341 passengers of the airlines of Turkey to compare the impact of traditional and social media marketing on brand trust and purchase intention of customers and analyzed by using structural equation modeling. The findings reveal that in recent years digital marketing and online advertising campaigns has been more effective than traditional marketing for augmenting brand trust and purchase intention of the passengers.

Purpose Emerging as a black swan event that stifled the global economy, COVID-19 is the first social media (SM) pandemic. In an unsocial age due to social distancing, SM relevance is intuitively magnified during a pandemic. This study aims to investigate the direct and moderating impact of Twitter on the Australian stock market during the COVID-19 info-pandemic. Design/methodology/approach As a natural experiment, a time-series regression measures the effect of the COVID-19 virus, proxied by the active cases and the marginal impact of SM user attention and sentiment on the Australian stock market. Findings Results show that SM user attention and sentiment to COVID-19 related fear topics are significant in explaining market returns and in predicting their volatility. It demonstrates that SM plays a role between COVID-19 and Australian stock market performance by amplifying the pandemic impact. Originality The study goes beyond a purely empirical investigation of the catalyst (i.e. the pandemic), thus contributing to current theoretical debates on the impact of SM on investor behaviour. Practical implications Policymakers and market participants could benefit from the empirical findings of this research in the case of analogous epidemics.
