In this paper, first, using interpolative Kannan type contractions, a new fixed point theorem has been proved. Then, by applying sequentially convergent mappings and using subadditive altering distance functions, we generalize contractions in complete metric spaces. Finally, we investigate some fixed point theorems which are generalizations of Kannan and Reich fixed points.

Motivated by a problem concerning multi-valued mappings posed by Reich [S. Reich, Some fixed point problems, Atti Accad. Naz. Lincei Rend. Cl. Sci. Fis. Mat. Natur. 57 (1974) 194-198] and a paper of Jleli and Samet [M. Jleli, B. Samet, A new generalization of the Banach contraction principle, J. Inequal. Appl. 2014:38 (2014) 1-8], we consider a new class of multi-valued mappings that satisfy a ?-contractive condition in complete metric spaces and prove some fixed point theorems. These results generalize Reich?s and Mizoguchi-Takahashi?s fixed point theorems. Some examples are given to show the usability of the obtained results.

AbstractIn this paper, we introduce the notion of an F-weak contraction and prove a fixed point theorem for F-weak contractions. Examples are given to show that our result is a proper extension of some results known in the literature

The purpose of this paper is to present some fixed point theorems for multivalued contractions of rational type. We extend the results of I. Cabrera, J. Harjani and K. Sadarangan, A fixed point theorem for contractions of rational type in partially ordered metric spaces, Annali dellUniversita di Ferrara, DOI 10.1007/s11565-013-0176-x, to the case of multivalued operators.

In this paper we present the results on the existence of fixed points of system of mappings in generalized metric spaces generalizing the result of Diaz and Margolis. Also the “local fixed point theorems” of a system of such mappings both in generalized and ordinary metric spaces are stated. Banach fixed point theorem and many others are consequences of our results.

A class ofα-admissible contractions defined via altering distance functions is introduced. The existence and uniqueness conditions for fixed points of such maps on complete metric spaces are investigated and related fixed point theorems are presented. The results are reconsidered in the context of partially ordered metric spaces and applied to boundary value problems for differential equations with periodic boundary conditions.

AbstractIn this paper, we introduce a generalization of cyclic (μ, ψ, φ)-weakly contraction via a new function and derive the existence of fixed point for such mappings in the setup of complete metric spaces. Our results extend and improve some fixed point theorems in the literature.

AbstractWe prove a fixed point theorem for cyclic orbital generalized contractions on complete metric spaces from which we deduce, among other results, generalized cyclic versions of the celebrated Boyd and Wong fixed point theorem, and Matkowski fixed point theorem. This is done by adapting to the cyclic framework a condition of Meir-Keeler type discussed in [Jachymski J., Equivalent conditions and the Meir-Keeler type theorems, J. Math. Anal. Appl., 1995, 194(1), 293–303]. Our results generalize some theorems of Kirk, Srinavasan and Veeramani, and of Karpagam and Agrawal.

AbstractIn this paper we discuss the existence and uniqueness of fixed points for mappings satisfying several (nonlinear-combinations) contractive inequalities of rational type controlled by altering distance functions. Our results extend several fixed point results in the literature.
