A fuzzy collaborative approach is proposed in this study to assess the suitability of a smart health practice, which is a challenging task, as the participating decision makers may not reach a consensus. In the fuzzy collaborative approach, each decision maker first applies the alpha-cut operations method to derive the fuzzy weights of the criteria. Then, fuzzy intersection is applied to aggregate the fuzzy weights derived by all decision makers to measure the prior consensus among them. The fuzzy intersection results are then presented to the decision makers so that they can subjectively modify the pairwise comparison results to bring them closer to the fuzzy intersection results. Thereafter, the consensus among decision makers is again measured. The collaboration process will stop when no more modifications are made by any decision maker. Finally, the fuzzy weighted mean-centroid defuzzification method is applied to assess the suitability of a smart health practice. The fuzzy collaborative approach and some existing methods have been applied to assess the suitabilities of eleven smart health practices for a comparison. Among the compared practices, only the fuzzy collaborative approach could guarantee the existence of a full consensus among decision makers after the collaboration process, i.e., that the assessment results were acceptable to all decision makers.

Existing fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) methods usually aggregate the fuzzy pairwise comparison results produced by multiple decision-makers (DMs) rather than the fuzzy weights estimations. This is problematic because fuzzy pairwise comparison results are subject to uncertainty and lack consensus. To address this problem, a partial-consensus posterior-aggregation FAHP (PCPA-FAHP) approach is proposed in this study. The PCPA-FAHP approach seeks a partial consensus among most DMs instead of an overall consensus among all DMs, thereby increasing the possibility of reaching a consensus. Subsequently, the aggregation result is defuzzified using the prevalent center-of-gravity method. The PCPA-FAHP approach was applied to a supplier selection problem to validate its effectiveness. According to the experimental results, the PCPA-FAHP approach not only successfully found out the partial consensus among the DMs, but also shrunk the widths of the estimated fuzzy weights to enhance the precision of the FAHP analysis.

Intuitionistic fuzzy preference relations (IFPRs) have the natural ability to reflect the positive, the negative and the non-determinative judgements of decision makers. A decision making model is proposed by considering the inherent property of IFPRs in this study, where the main novelty comes with the introduction of the concept of additive approximate consistency. First, the consistency definitions of IFPRs are reviewed and the underlying ideas are analyzed. Second, by considering the allocation of the non-determinacy degree of decision makers’ opinions, the novel concept of approximate consistency for IFPRs is proposed. Then the additive approximate consistency of IFPRs is defined and the properties are studied. Third, the priorities of alternatives are derived from IFPRs with additive approximate consistency by considering the effects of the permutations of alternatives and the allocation of the non-determinacy degree. The rankings of alternatives based on real, interval and intuitionistic fuzzy weights are investigated, respectively. Finally, some comparisons are reported by carrying out numerical examples to show the novelty and advantage of the proposed model. It is found that the proposed model can offer various decision schemes due to the allocation of the non-determinacy degree of IFPRs.

Due to continuous increase in the data in this way, it is important to study and manage these datasets by adjusting the requirements so that the necessary information can be obtained.The aim of this paper is to analyze some of the analytic methods and tools. Which can be applied to large data. In addition, the application of Big Data has been analyzed, using the Decision Maker working on big data and using enlightened information for different applications.

In studying naturalistic human decision-making, it is important to understand how emotional states shape decision-making processes and outcomes. Emotion regulation techniques can improve the quality of decisions, but there are several challenges to evaluating these techniques in a controlled research context. Determining the effectiveness of emotion regulation techniques requires methodology that can: 1) reliably elicit desired emotions in decision-makers; 2) include decision tasks with response measures that are sensitive to emotional loading; and 3) support repeated exposures/trials with relatively-consistent emotional loading and response sensitivity. The current study investigates one common method, the Balloon Analog Risk Task (BART), for its consistency and reliability in measuring the risk-propensity of decision-makers, and specifically how the method’s effectiveness might change over the course of repeated exposures. With the PANASX subjective assessment serving for comparison, results suggest the BART assessment method, when applied over repeated exposures, is reduced in its sensitivity to emotional stimuli and exhibits decision task-related learning effects which influence the observed trends in response data in complex ways. This work is valuable for researchers in decision-making and to guide design for humans with consideration for their affective states.

The generalized interval-valued trapezoidal fuzzy best-worst method (GITrF-BWM) provides more reliable and more consistent criteria weights for multiple criteria group decision making (MCGDM) problems. In this study, GITrF-BWM is integrated with the extended TOPSIS (technique for order preference by similarity to the ideal solution) and extended VIKOR (visekriterijumska optimizacija i kompromisno resenje) methods for the selection of the optimal industrial robot using fuzzy information. For a criteria-based selection process, assigning weights play a vital role and significantly affect the decision. Assigning weights based on direct opinions of decision makers can be biased, so weight deriving models, such as GITrF-BWM, overcome this discrepancy. In previous studies, generalized interval-valued trapezoidal fuzzy weights were not derived by using any MCGDM method for the robot selection process. For this study, both subjective and objective criteria are considered. The preferences of decision makers are provided with the help of linguistic terms that are then converted into fuzzy information. The stability and reliability of the methods were tested by performing sensitivity analysis, which showed that the ranking results of both the methodologies are not symmetrical, and the integration of GITrF-BWM with the extended TOPSIS method provides stable and reliable results as compared to the integration of GITrF-BWM with the extended VIKOR method. Hence, the proposed methodology provides robust optimal industrial robot selection.

This paper is based on a study of 391 family-business-owning couples where the husband is the business owner. The purpose of the study was to examine the work involvement of the wife in the business, the business tensions, and the impact of those tensions on family business success. Fifty-seven percent of wives worked in the business, 47% of whom were paid. Forty-two percent of wives were considered major decision makers. Having more than one decision maker in the business impacted certain types of inclusion tension. Business and family success outcomes varied by level of tensions. There was initial evidence of a threshold where business tensions begin to affect business success negatively.

Objectives:This study is an attempt to demystify and clarify the idea of cost in health economics and health technology assessment (HTA).Methods:Its method draws on standard concepts in economics. Cost is a more elusive concept than is commonly thought and can be particularly elusive in multidisciplinary territory like HTA.Results:The article explains that cost is more completely defined as opportunity cost, why cost is necessarily associated with a decision, and that it will always vary according to the context of that decision: whether choice is about inputs or outputs, what the alternatives are, the timing of the consequences of the decision, the nature of the commitment to which a decision maker is committed, who the decision maker is, and the constraints and discretion limiting or liberating the decision maker. Distinctions between short and long runs and between fixed and variable inputs are matters of choice, not technology, and are similarly context-dependent. Harms or negative consequences are, in general, not costs. Whether so-called “clinically unrelated” future costs and benefits should be counted in current decisions again depends on context.Conclusions:The costs of entire health programs are context-dependent, relating to planned rates of activity, volumes, and timings. The implications for the methods of HTA are different in the contexts of low- and middle-income countries compared with high-income countries, and further differ contextually according to the budget constraints (fixed or variable) facing decision makers.

This research aims to evaluate and rank the Circular Supply Chain (CSC) enablers for the effective implementation of CSC management. From the literature and input received from industrial experts, 30 CSC enablers are identified. Further, the selected CSC enablers are classified into seven main categories. This research employs the Pythagorean fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (PF-AHP) technique to prioritize the selected CSC enablers based on pairwise comparison of criteria and sub-criteria. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated with the help of responses received from an Indian manufacturing industry. The result reveals that global climate pressure and ecological scarcity of resources is the most significant enabler and the environment management certifications and systems is the least important enabler. The result of the present study will assist the practitioners / decision makers in implementing CSC in manufacturing organizations by adopting the ranking obtained in a systematic way.

AbstractSolving multiobjective optimization problems with interactive methods enables a decision maker with domain expertise to direct the search for the most preferred trade-offs with preference information and learn about the problem. There are different interactive methods, and it is important to compare them and find the best-suited one for solving the problem in question. Comparisons with real decision makers are expensive, and artificial decision makers (ADMs) have been proposed to simulate humans in basic testing before involving real decision makers. Existing ADMs only consider one type of preference information. In this paper, we propose ADM-II, which is tailored to assess several interactive evolutionary methods and is able to handle different types of preference information. We consider two phases of interactive solution processes, i.e., learning and decision phases separately, so that the proposed ADM-II generates preference information in different ways in each of them to reflect the nature of the phases. We demonstrate how ADM-II can be applied with different methods and problems. We also propose an indicator to assess and compare the performance of interactive evolutionary methods.

e18054 Background: Lymphomas that present initially as a neck mass can be challenging to diagnose as their onset is often insidious, frequently without classic symptoms, and fine-needle aspiration has limited utility for diagnosis. Understanding their clinical presentation may facilitate recognition and diagnosis, essential for timely treatment of aggressive lymphoma subtypes. Methods: Using data from a large integrated healthcare delivery system, adults aged 18-89 years without known previous cancer who were referred to Head and Neck Surgery for evaluation of a “neck mass” in 2017 were identified. Among the subset of 205 patients found to have malignancy, 76 had lymphoma (N = 69) or leukemia (N = 7) and 129 had a non-lymphoma/leukemia malignancy. The demographic characteristics of patients with and without lymphoma/leukemia were compared. Among the 69 with lymphoma, tumor histology and stage were examined. Differences between subgroups were compared using Chi-squared, Fisher’s exact, Student’s t-test, F-tests, and Tukey’s range tests for pairwise comparison. Results: Among 205 patients identified with a malignant neck mass, 76 (37%) were diagnosed with lymphoma/leukemia. Patients with lymphoma/leukemia were more likely to be female (47% vs. 27%, p = 0.003) and under age 50 years (36% vs. 13%, p = 0.001). There were no statistically significant differences in race, smoking status, or BMI between the two groups. Among the lymphoma/leukemia subset, 18 (24%) had Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), 13 (17%) had Follicular Lymphoma (FL), and 25 (33%) had Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (HL). The HL subset was significantly younger than both the FL and DLBCL subsets (mean age 41.6 years vs. 62.2 and 66.6, p < 0.001). A range of findings was seen when examining sex (72%, 44% and 46% male), race/ethnicity (60%, 72% and 69% non-Hispanic White), smoking status (36%, 33% and 62% current/former) and tumor stage at presentation (52%, 50% and 69% late stage (III-IV)) for HL, DLBCL and FL subtypes, respectively, but the differences were not statistically significant in these smaller subsets. Conclusions: Significant differences in baseline characteristics exist between lymphoma and non-lymphoma patients presenting with a malignant neck mass. Notably, the lymphoma subset was younger and, except for those with HL, did not demonstrate a male predominance. Within the lymphoma subset, HL patients were significantly younger than patients with other lymphoma subtypes. Further studies in a larger population identifying demographic differences by cancer subtype may inform efforts to prevent diagnostic delays in head and neck lymphoma. Characterizing the diagnostic pathway is also needed to quantify room for improvement in the treatment approach of patients with neck mass considered at higher risk for lymphoma.
