Carbon is one of the most abundant elements on Earth. In addition to the well-known crystallographic modifications such as graphite and diamond, other allotropic carbon modifications such as graphene-based nanomaterials and carbon nanotubes have recently come to the fore. These carbon nanomaterials can be designed to help deliver or target drugs more efficiently and to innovate therapeutic approaches, especially for cancer treatment, but also for the development of new diagnostic agents for malignancies and are expected to help combine molecular imaging for diagnosis with therapies. This paper summarizes the latest designed drug delivery nanosystems based on graphene, graphene quantum dots, graphene oxide, reduced graphene oxide and carbon nanotubes, mainly for anticancer therapy.

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes/reduced graphene oxide (MWCNT/rGO) hybrid films have attracted increasing massive attention due to their unique advantages such as high conductivity, superior mechanical property and thermal properties. In this work, a novel, facile and low cost method was developed to fabricate the MWCNT/rGO flexible ultrathin hybrid films with the thickness of about 55 nm. These hybrid films can be fabricated repeatedly through layer-by-layer exfoliation on the surface of liquids, and transferred to various substrates. The devices based on MWCNT/rGO hybrid films offer a unique platform for integrating carbon nanomaterials for advanced electronics, energy, and sensor applications.

Abstract We have designed and verified a new structure for ohmic contacts to p-GaN based on a layer of carbon nanotubes (CNT), reduced graphene oxide (r-GO) and metallic layers of Cr, Pd and Au, namely in configurations Au/Cr/r-GO/CNT/p-GaN and Au/Pd/r-GO/CNT/p-GaN. The effects have been studied of the annealing temperature and the gas ambient upon the electrical properties of the contacts. Annealing of the Au/Pd/r-GO/CNT/p-GaN structure in air at 500°C for 1 minute resulted in linear I - V curves measured between planar electrodes on the p-GaN. Hence, addition of r-GO to the CNT interlayer between p-GaN and the metallization layer is a highly promising procedure for further improvements of the ohmic contacts to p-GaN.

A simple and facile method for the simultaneous preparation of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) having different emission colours, viz., yellow, green and blue, and reduced graphene oxide (RGO) utilized respectively for bio-imaging and supercapacitor applications is demonstrated.

Herein, we report the field emission properties of NiFe2O4/reduced graphene oxide/carbon nanotubes (NGC) and compared them with the field emission properties of NiFe2O4/carbon nanotubes (NC) and NiFe2O4/reduced graphene oxide (NG).
