The guanidine derivative N-{[(7-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-2-(p-tolyl)-6,7-dihydro-2H-imidazo[2,1-c][1,2,4]triazol-3(5H)-ylidene)amino](phenylamino)methylene}benzamide (3) has been obtained by the reaction of one measure of N-{[7-(4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)-2-(p-tolyl)-6,7-dihydro-2H-imidazo[2,1-c][1,2,4]triazol-3(5H)-ylidene]carbamothioyl}benzamide (2) with one measure of aniline in the presence of mercury(II) chloride and triethylamine in anhydrous dimethylformamide. The structure of product 3 was confirmed by 1H and 13C-NMR, infrared spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.

Three new 1,3,4,5-tetrahydro-2H-1,5-benzodiazepin-2-one oximes were synthesized and characterized by the methods of 1H- and 13C-NMR, IR and elemental analysis. Along with previously described compounds bearing one additional methyl group on the 5th nitrogen atom, the new compounds were characterized in bulk by UV?Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy in various solvents. The influence of the nature of the organic solvent on the spectra of the title compounds was investigated and is discussed.

In present work, we have reported the synthesis and characterisation of novel hexahydrospiro[indoline-3,3′-pyrrolizine]-2-one derivatives in good to excellent yields via [3+2] cycloaddtion reaction in regioselective manner. These compounds were synthesized via multicomponent reaction of substituted 3-cinnamoyl-4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one, isatin, L-proline at room temperature. All the synthesized hexahydrospiro molecules were characterized by 1H and 13C NMR, IR spectra, mass spectra and elemental analysis. Regioselectivity in synthesized molecules were also explained on the basis of secondary orbital interactions. A simple and facile methodology is developed which has great importance in synthetic chemistry.

The complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, conductivity measurements, as well as infrared, electronic, 1H- and 13C-NMR spectral studies.

The ligand, 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-stearoylpyrazol-5-one (HSPy), and its La(III) and W(VI) complexes were synthesized and characterized spectroscopically using elemental analysis, UV-visible, IR, 1H and 13C NMR. Physical properties such as colour, melting points, conductivity measurements and solubility profile were also investigated. La(III) and W(VI) reacted with the ligand in the metal-ligand mole ratios of 1:3 and 1:2 to form neutral complexes of diaquo-trischelate La(SPy)3.2H2O and dioxoaquo-bischelate, WO2(SPy)2.H2O respectively.

New ring-trisubstituted propyl cyanophenylpropenoates, RPhCH=C(CN)CO2C3H7 (where R is 2-bromo-3-hydroxy-4-methoxy, 5-bromo-2,3-dimethoxy, 5-bromo-2,4-dimethoxy, 6-bromo-3,4-dimethoxy, 2-chloro-3,4-dimetoxy, 5-chloro-2,3-dimetoxy, 4-bromo-2,6-difluoro, 3-chloro-2,6-difluoro, 4-chloro-2,6-difluoro) were prepared by the piperidine catalyzed Knoevenagel condensation of ring-trisubstituted benzaldehydes and propyl cyanoacetate and characterized by CHN elemental analysis, IR, 1H and 13C-NMR. The propenoates formed copolymers with styrene in solution with radical initiation (ABCN) at 70°C. The copolymers were characterized by nitrogen elemental analysis, IR, 1H and 13C-NMR, DSC. Decomposition of the copolymers in nitrogen (TGA) occurred in two steps, first in the 200-500ºC range with residue (4.2 -8.1% wt.), which then decomposed in the 500-800ºC range.

A novel family of water-soluble π-conjugated hexaazatrinaphthylenes-based dendritic architectures constructed by hexaketocyclohexane and 1,2,4,5-benzenetetramine units is developed in a microwave-assisted organic synthesis (MAOS) approach. The structures and purity of these compounds are verified by 1H and 13C-NMR, MALDI-TOF MS, UV-vis, elemental analysis, DSC, AFM, STM and cyclic voltammetry.

Three substituted monodentate salicylaldimines namely 5-chloro-N-[(2- methoxy) phenyl] salicylaldimine [I],  5-chloro-N-[(4-chloro)phenyl]salicylaldimine [II] and 5-chloro-N-[(2-methyl-5-chloro)phenyl] salicylaldimine [III] were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, UV, 1H and 13C NMR. Theoretical calculations were also performed on the optimized structures of the compounds. The IR, NMR and UV spectra of the compounds were calculated and the results compared with the corresponding experimental spectra to augment the structural elucidation. The calculated IR, NMR and UV values were in agreement with the experimental results. The total antioxidant capacities of the compounds were determined by phosphomolybdenum assay.

Anew bidentate ligand butyl-(1-methyl-3-phenyl-propyl)-dithiocarbamate (bm?pdtc) was prepared, as the sodium salt. In the reaction of hexaaminecobalt(III) chloride with Nabm?pdtc, the corresponding tris[butyl-(1-methyl-3-phenyl-propyl)-dithiocarbamato]cobalt(III) [Co(bm?pdtc)3]?complex was prepared. The complex was characterized by elemental analysis, infrared, electronic absorption, 1H and 13C-NMR spectroscopy.
