This study investigates the assessment methods used in Irish immersion schools to identify students for additional teaching support. An overview is provided of the percentage of students receiving additional teaching support in this context and whether there is a higher rate of students accessing additional teaching support in Irish immersion schools than English-medium schools. The challenges of assessment through Irish as a second language are evaluated. In addition, this study investigates the language used by educational professionals when assessing and/or providing interventions for these students. A quantitative research approach was adopted for this investigation, with a random stratified sample of 20% (N = 29) of Irish immersion schools in the Republic of Ireland completing an online questionnaire. SPSS was used to analyse the data. The findings of the present research contribute to the limited body of knowledge available on the types of assessment used in immersion education to identify students for additional teaching support. These findings are significant as there has been limited research undertaken on this aspect in immersion education and the findings of this study may have implications for immersion education contexts in other countries.

Chemistry is an experimental discipline that uses experimentation as one of its most important research methods. Laboratory work and other practical work are therefore also essential in chemistry lessons. Chemistry demonstrations are used by teachers as an educational approach that can increase students’ interest in chemistry and motivate them to learn chemical concepts with understanding. However, if the students are actively involved in the chemistry demonstration, it can be just as effective as or even more effective than students’ learning through experiments. The purpose of this research is to examine teachers’ opinions about the impact of chemistry demonstrations on students’ interest and chemistry knowledge. Based on a quantitative research approach, 81 primary and secondary school teachers from different regions of Slovenia participated in this study. Participating teachers completed an online questionnaire on their perceptions of the impact of chemistry demonstrations on students’ interest and performance in chemistry classes and on the quality of students’ knowledge of chemistry. The results show that regardless of the years of teaching experience and the frequency of performing chemistry demonstrations, the participating teachers consider such demonstrations to have a positive effect on the motivation and performance of the students in chemistry and on the quality of the students’ knowledge of chemistry.

The primary aim of this study is to investigate commercial banks employee’s interactions in the advent and eminence of social media, thus, depict the major influence which is made by social media in two commercial banks (ABSA and Standard Bank) workflow. This study has employed a quantitative research approach whereby structured questionnaires were distributed respectively to two commercial banks’ employees. A self-developed and administered questionnaire was distributed to a population size of 194 employees with 102 returned and completed successfully, thereby generating a response rate of 53%. Findings in this study revealed the extent to which social media has changed workflow in commercial banks (54% agree, 23% were undecided, and 24% disagreed). Among other major findings that this study reflected, social media among commercial banks employees’ has totally transformed channels of communication (60% agreed, 25% were undecided, and 24% disagreed). Despite the positive advancements revealed in this study, social media has not allowed openness of emotions among commercial banks employees’ (49% agreed, 28% were undecided, and 24% disagreed). This study is expected to contribute to the body of knowledge, as there is a paucity of published studies on commercial banks employee’s interactions in the advent of social media. This study will also help the bank managers to intensify online team management and supervision. The aim of this study was to explore the requirements of the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology (MCAST) library users and to propose an adequate solution to their academic needs. The present study also examines the current scenario at MCAST in relation to the usage and awareness of e-resources. A quantitative research approach was adopted for this study with a survey as a research instrument. This paper is based on a previous investigation conducted to better understand user satisfaction and associated issues. Like in any other area, librarianship and innovation walk hand in hand. In this case, digitalisation can be seen as both a challenge and an opportunity. MCAST Library is no exception. Prior to 2020, there was already a demand for more electronic resources in response to the addition of new courses. A thorough search was then conducted by the library team to find a solution to the users’ requirements. The selection of the ideal database was mainly based upon two variables. Firstly, its proper coverage of all the institutes was ensured. Secondly, the presence of new resources that are not duplicated in the databases available to MCAST at that time was confirmed. Following the analysis of feedback and comments obtained through an online questionnaire, the library focused on IEEE Xplore as it satisfied most of the requirements. Following the successful initial trial runs and the report of subsequent usage, the IEEE database was acquired. The provision of electronic resources indicates a boost in quality research amongst MCAST students, faculty, and researchers.

Orientation: Organisational  identification  (OI)  refers to individuals  perceiving  that  they belong  to and  are one with  their  organisation.  Limited  research  has  been conducted  on university students’ levels of OI within the South African context.Research purpose: The aim of the study was to determine the level of OI amongst students at a post-merged university in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa.Motivation for the study: Levels of OI amongst students at a post-merged university could be low, as a result of students not yet adopting the values of the merged university. Yet, no such study has been undertaken at this university since the merger.Research design, approach and method: Mixed methods were used in this study, consisting of qualitative  research  (N = 16)  for  which  focus  group  discussions  were  used,  as  well as quantitative  research  (N =  603)  for  which  an  online questionnaire  was  sent  to  the student sample.Main  findings: The  level  of  OI  amongst  the  students  was found  to  be  high.  Furthermore, students’  race,  campus, university  tenure  and  residence  have  a  significant influence  on students’ levels of OI. Black students identified more with the university than other races and students who studied longer at this university had lower levels of OI. Residence students had a greater level of OI than those who stayed off-campus.Practical/managerial implications: Students should be encouraged to adopt the core values of this university to ensure that OI levels increase. In order to improve OI, university management should  implement  action  plans  for those  student  segments  who  have  exhibited  low  levels of OI.Contribution/value-add: This  research  contributes  to  the current  body  of  knowledge concerning OI which is under-researched within a post-merged university context.

In the era of industrialization, the role of company's global strategy has a significant role in surviving in a competitive environment. The global strategy has the major weapon to compete with the competitors and achieve a higher level of performance. In this direction, the awareness of global strategy among employees has key importance. However, in most companies, the level of awareness among the employees is low, which has a negative effect on the global strategy. This study aims to examine the level of awareness among employees concerning the company's global strategy. This study selected large enterprises from Poland. Data were collected from the employees of large enterprises from Poland. A cross-sectional research design was used in the present study under a quantitative research approach. In this research, first-hand data was collected from one point in time. A total of 200 questionnaires were used to collect data and distribute it to employees, of which 82 valid responses were received for data analysis. It is an important investigation that is not documented in previous studies. Particularly, large enterprises from Poland were not considered by the previous studies. This study significantly contributed to the body of knowledge. Along with the theoretical implications, the current study also has practical implications. Results of the study highlighted valuable insights for the large enterprises to enhance the company's global strategy through employee awareness. It is also evident from the results that awareness about the global strategy could promote the employee motivational level. Therefore, employees want to adopt the global strategy. Employees also highlighted that global strategy is important for brand building, innovation, and expansion to the new market. According to the employees, the major benefits of the global strategy include increasing the product quality, increasing sales, brand recognition promotion, increasing the profit, increasing the customers, gaining competitive advantage, and reducing the cost. Thus, to achieve higher performance through global strategy benefits, a company must have well planned global strategy. Therefore, the study's findings have valuable importance for the practitioners to promote large enterprises in Poland.

There are frequent failures in the project delivery in time and increasing the waste in Oman construction industry. Lean Construction (LC) principles which is lean thinking in design and construction process may be a possible solution. Hence, the paper is aimed on exploring the status of the LC practices and its impact on Omani Construction Industry (OCI). The paper presents barriers, potential benefits, and the measures of suitability and acceptability of LC principles. A quantitative research approach was adopted and research data was collected using an online questionnaire survey in Oman. The data was analysed and results are presented in tables and charts followed by critical discussions. The survey found that one-third of the construction professionals have a good awareness and half of then having a higher level awareness about LC practices. More than one third of the construction organisations are adopting LC principles with a high consensus on the suitability and acceptability, and they recognised that time commitment are necessary for the successful implementation and achieve benefits. The study concludes that the reduction in project delivery time and construction at site waste is the key advantage of implementing LC priciples in design and construction stages in the omani construction industry.

Abstract The current study aimed to identify the most and the least important situational properties of second language willingness to communicate (L2WTC) in an EFL context. After reviewing the related literature, 24 influencing factors were identified and then they were prioritized. Ninety TEFL experts participated in the study to answer the research questionnaire. A quantitative research approach applying paired comparison questionnaire was employed. Data analysis was done using Excel spreadsheet for sorting data and calculating the mean and WinQSB software for solving linear programming model. The results showed that, among the selected variables, "the size of the group", "familiarity with topics under discussion", and "interlocutors and familiarity with them" were determined to be the first most important situational variables which highly influence L2WTC. The findings also showed that "attitudes toward the learning situation", "course evaluation criteria" and "alignment with the classroom norms" were the least important factors influencing L2WTC. The significance of the study lies in its theoretical contributions and pedagogical implications it has for the field of second language teaching and learning.

The study was conducted in order to assess the issues affecting the implementation of inclusive education practices in selected secondary schools in the Omaheke region of Namibia.To achieve the objective, a quantitative research approach was followed. The population of the study was made up of secondary school teachers in the Omaheke region. Data was collected using questionnaires which were administered to a stratified sample of 90 secondary school teachers. The data was analysed by means of descriptive statistics in the form of frequencies and percentages. The results indicated that the implementation of inclusive education was hampered by various issues such as  inappropriate policy development issues, teacher attitudes, lack of teacher training, inadequate support and resources, as well as curriculum issues.

Present study aims to review the factors that have an affect over the buying intention of Malaysian students towards Samsung smartphones. Key purpose is to review the effect of factors like reliability, price, product features and brand recognition on the intention of buying among students in Malaysia with respect to Samsung smartphones. To acquire the data needed to carry out the research, an empirical study was done using the quantitative research approach. An online questionnaire was created that includes combination of close ended and 5 point likert scale questions. The questionnaire was dispersed to 200 respondents from a research sample that was created by adopting simple random method of sampling. Data for this study that obtained from sample was then processed and analyzed using statistical tests in SPSS. The findings were discussed and conclusions were drawn.

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) play a vital role in the economies of countries throughout the world. They contribute to the creation of jobs, economic upliftment as well as the gross domestic product (GDP). It is of great concern however to note that the majority of SMEs fail within their first few years of operation which could be due to many factors such as management skills, finance, access to markets and appropriate technology. With the National Development Plan’s objective to create 11 million jobs by 2030, it is crucial that the government provides assistance needed by SMEs to achieve this goal. Although government assistance may be evident, SMEs and their perceptions regarding this assistance is unclear. The purpose of this paper was therefore to investigate the perception of SME owners of the various government assistance and initiatives that are offered to them. The authors feel that the findings will be universally applicable to SMEs in most countries. The study followed a quantitative research approach, whereby a self-administered online questionnaire was used to collect primary data. The results indicate that SMEs feel that local government and municipalities are not doing enough to support and assist them.
