The COVID-19 global pandemic has resulted in a large number of people suffering from emotional problems. However, the mechanisms by which intolerance of uncertainty (IU) affects negative emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic remain unclear. This study aimed to explore the mediating role of pandemic-focused time and the moderating role of perceived efficacy in the association between IU and negative emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic based on the uncertainty-time-efficacy-emotion model (UTEE). 1131 participants were recruited to complete measures of COVID-19 IU, pandemic-focused time, perceived efficacy, negative emotions and demographic variables during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results showed that COVID-19 IU was significantly and positively associated with negative emotions, and this link could be mediated by pandemic-focused time. Moreover, the direct effect of COVID-19 IU on negative emotions was moderated by perceived efficacy. Specifically, the direct effect of COVID-19 IU on negative emotions was much stronger for individuals with lower levels of perceived efficacy. The current study further extended the previous integrative uncertainty tolerance model. Furthermore, the study suggested that policy makers and mental health professionals should reduce the general public’s negative emotions during the pandemic through effective interventions such as adjusting COVID-19 IU, shortening pandemic-focused time and enhancing perceived efficacy.

The global pandemic raised several social and economic challenges worldwide. Executing lockdown and closure of educational institutions became only options to mitigate these challenges, leading to educational barriers for billions of students worldwide. In such a situation, the acceptance, adoption and integration of ICT informally supported the learning process. However, policymakers, instructors and critics anticipated adverse consequences due to a fast shift from conventional to eLearning system. In this regard, the current research scrutinized the intervening role of gender in eLearning acceptance during Covid-19 outbreak. Additionally, this study also examines the impact of eLearning acceptance on students’ academic performance under Media System Dependency Theory. Data was gathered from n= 300 participants currently enrolled in n= 3 public sector universities in Islamabad, Pakistan. Results from quantitative data analysis indicated moderately significant gender differences concerning eLearning acceptance during the Covid-19. Similarly, findings also revealed a significant positive correlation between female students and conventional learning, male students and eLearning acceptance. Here the inferential statistics also highlighted the positive impacts of eLearning on students’ academic performance during Covid-19. The study concludes that gender is moderately hindering eLearning acceptance during the Covid-19 pandemic. Even though eLearning positively influences educational performance, stakeholders need to reconsider the current policies and ensure web-based as equally acceptable for all.

The current research is aimed at studying the relationship between trait anxiety and intolerance of uncertainty, with its both facets: the inhibitory and the prospective anxiety and to establish whether or not the general self-efficacy plays a mediating role between the trait-anxiety and intolerance of uncertainty. Results show that a partial mediation takes part when general self-efficacy mediates the relationship between the intolerance of uncertainty, inhibitory anxiety, but a limited mediation when general selfefficacy interferes in the relationship between the trait-anxiety and intolerance of uncertainty, perspective anxiety. The main benefit of this paper is to demystify the impact of self-efficacy especially in unexpected, unknown situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is empirical evidence regarding the interrelationships between materialism, negative emotions, and addictive buying. The aim of this study was to clarify the direction of the relationships among these variables. Specifically, the main objective was to explore the possible mediating roles of anxiety and depression in the link between materialism and addictive buying. Path analysis results, using a sample of 685 women, generally supported the suitability of the proposed model in which anxiety and depression mediated the effects of the materialism dimensions, “importance” and “success,” on addictive buying, and that depression also mediates the influence of the “importance” and “happiness” dimensions. Moreover, a direct effect of the importance dimension on addictive buying was found.

The present study aimed to investigate the impact of self-generated thoughts (daydreaming) on symptoms of anxiety among university students. Furthermore, mediating role of rumination was also studied. A sample of 300 university students aged 18-28 years and with minimum education of 14 years was collected through purposive sampling technique from different universities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Self-report measures including Day-Dreaming Frequency Subscale of Imaginal Process Inventory (Singer & Antrobus, 1970) Ruminative Response Scale (Treynor, Gonzalez, & Nolen-Hoeksema, 2003), and Beck Anxiety Inventory (Beck, Epstein, Brown, & Steer, 1988) were administered to measure study variables. Results yielded self-generated thoughts as a significant positive predictor of anxiety symptoms, whereas rumination was found to significantly predict anxiety in positive direction. Moreover, rumination mediated the relationship between self-generated thoughts and symptoms of anxiety. Female students scored significantly higher on daydreaming, rumination, and anxiety symptoms as compared to male university students. This study will be helpful for mental health professionals to gain a better understanding that how daydreaming can have an impact on individual’s cognition and thus can raise more awareness about dangers associated with excessive daydreaming.

Drawing on the 2012 American National Election Studies (ANES) panel data, this study explores the influence of the consumption of partisan information sources on affective polarization and investigates the mechanism underlying this relationship. The results show that exposure to pro-party television sources strengthens affective polarization among partisans. The polarizing effects of pro-party sources are mediated by the discrete negative emotions (i.e., anger and fear) toward presidential candidates. The study discusses the impact of selective exposure on deliberative and participatory democracies.

Dunia Fantasi (Dufan) located in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol is one leading recreational unit with specific characteristics as a theme park. A research was done towards with service quality and implementation of experiential marketing applied in Dufan using path analysis. Experiential marketing was studied to have a direct effect, positive and significant impact on customer attitude variables. The basic objective of this research is to determine the effect of service quality and implementation of experiential marketing to customer attitude and its impact on customer intention of Dufan. Data collection was conducted through questionnaire given to Dufan visitors. From the results of data analysis we found that service quality has not significantly influenced customer’s attitude. The study revealed that the direct effect between experiential marketing and customer intention is 'strong’. As a subsequent finding, service quality has not given a significant effect on customer intention. However, experiential marketing was found having an indirect influence on customer intention mediated by attitude, in which the results of the study suggested that the indirect effect is 'strong'. Eventually, customer attitude has a direct positive and significant impact on customer intention variables. The direct influence of customer attitude to customer intention in Fantasy World,was 'strong'.

The purpose of the current paper is to provide a conceptual framework for studying the impact of organizational change on employee job involvement while communication, emotions and psychological contract plays mediating role in this relationship. The current study conceptualize that organizational change followed by effective communication generate the positive emotions which ultimately increase the employee job involvement where as organizational change with ineffective communication causes negative emotions which results in low employee job involvement. The study also founds that organizational change may break the psychological contract between employee and employer which reduces the employee job involvement.

Purpose- The primary purpose of the study is to determine the impact of organizational justice (OJ) on employee sustainability. Along with that, it also describes how organizational commitment mediates this direct relationship. This study includes all dimensions of OJ which are distributive, procedural and interactional (interpersonal & informational) within the context of a developing country (Pakistan). Design/Methodology- This study has considered employees working in the banking sector of Pakistan. Two hundred ten questionnaires were received back from employees. Regression analysis was used to analyze direct relationships between variables, while smart partial least squares (PLS) were used for mediation analysis. Findings- Results demonstrated that all hypothesis were accepted and it was also confirmed that organizational commitment (OC) mediates the direct relationship between OJ and employee sustainability (ES). Originality/value- Multidimensional construct of organizational justice was tested in this study, in the context of a developing country (Pakistan), to address the research gap.
