Since Internet-based resources provides various and practical forms of English learning materials, Internet-based resources English learning is a common way for the younger generation. However, not like adult learning, university students need stronger motivation to learn English from Internet-based resources. This study surveyed Chinese college students in Central China to reveal the relationship between cultural intelligence, hedonic motivation, English self-efficacy, online experience quality, and willingness to continue learning online English. Using online media platforms and convenient sampling methods, a total of 385 questionnaires were collected. The data analysis was divided into three phases, descriptive analysis, measurement model evaluation, and structural equation model examination. The results showed Internet quality of experience significantly impacted English continuous learning intention. Cultural intelligence, English self-efficacy, and hedonic motivation all influenced significantly on Internet quality of experience and hedonic motivation had the strongest impact. In addition, the mediation effects of Internet quality of experience to these three factors and Internet-based resources English continuous learning intention all existed. Finally, the research results show cultural intelligence, English self-efficacy, and hedonic motivation were all examined significantly impacting Internet quality of experience statistically. English learning hedonic motivation is the most influencing factor. Therefore, English learning material should be attractive, fun, and enjoyable. This is what the teachers should think of and emphasize when to recommend learning material for students.

This research adopts the questionnaire survey method and selects 208 freshmen from the Guangxi Arts University as the research objects. The research studies the English self-efficacy and mobile learning situation of art college students and understands students’ views on using mobile devices/platform to assist in their learning of the English language. Results found that all students have mobile phones which allow teachers and students to use them for English learning. Besides, most art college students have a low sense of English self-efficacy, including low self-confidence, low enthusiasm in English learning, and average level of solving English learning difficulties. In addition, more than half of the students agree with the use of mobile devices/platforms to assist in English learning. Only a small number of people oppose it. This finding lays a preliminary foundation for later empirical research on using mobile learning to cultivate the English self-efficacy of art students.

The World Health Organization Quality of Life-100 (WHOQOL-100, Power, Harper, Bullinger, & WHO1QLG), the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (Zhang, 1993), and the Self-Rating Depression Scale (Zhang, 1993) were used to determine whether Chinese college students from only child and sibling child families rated perceptions of their quality of life differently. Small to moderate significant differences were found when comparing only students to sibling students on the WHOQOL-100 with no significant differences on measures of anxiety and depression. These results suggest that only students do not differ greatly from sibling students in terms of their overall perceptions of their quality of life. A unique characteristic of this study was that it targeted older college students born after implementation of the one-child-per-family policy in China. Also, self-rating instruments were used to gain a greater holistic understanding of the emotional well-being, physical state and social functioning of students. Several psychosocial and economic reasons, including methodological issues related to this study's findings, were discussed.

We examined the influence of college students' coping styles on perceived self-efficacy, through the mediating effect of general self-efficacy, in managing inferiority. A sample of 206 college students completed a Coping Style Questionnaire, the Regulatory Emotional Self-Efficacy Scale of Chinese college students, and a general self-efficacy scale. The results showed the following: (a) there were significant correlations among the problem solving, self-blame, and fantasy coping styles, and general self-efficacy and perceived self-efficacy in managing inferiority; (b) the problem solving and self-blame coping styles indirectly predicted perceived self-efficacy in managing inferiority by general self-efficacy, and general self-efficacy played a partial mediating role between the problem solving and self-blame coping styles and perceived self-efficacy in managing inferiority; and (c) gender played a moderating role between coping style and perceived self-efficacy in managing inferiority. The results are important for counseling to enhance regulatory emotional self-efficacy.

Background:Researchers have studied exercise determinants primarily from cognitive and social psychology perspectives, which typically give minimal attention to the body as a physical and biological entity. With the belief that tapping into multidimensional variables would potentially help us better understand motivation in exercise, we designed this study to examine the influences of self-efficacy, body mass, and cardiorespiratory fitness level on Chinese college students’ leisure-time exercise motives.Methods:208 college students completed measures of self-efficacy and exercise motives during regular physical education classes. Their body mass and cardiorespiratory fitness level data were derived from the latest annual physical training test. Multiple regression analyses were conducted to investigate the effects of self-efficacy, body mass, and cardiorespiratory fitness on exercise motives.Results:Cardiorespiratory fitness level and self-efficacy in exercise significantly contributed to both psychological and interpersonal motives. Body mass was the only significant predictor for body-related motives. However, analyses of health and fitness motives did not result in any significant predictors.Conclusion:Physical and psychological variables have both independent and specialized functions on exercise motives. Future motivational studies in exercise should pay greater attention to ecological approaches that account for physical, psychological, and social factors.
