Microinverters are an essential part of the photovoltaic (PV) industry with significant exponential prevalence in new PV module architectures. However, electrolyte capacitors used to decouple double line frequency make the single-phase microinverters topologies the slightest unit in this promising industry. Three-phase microinverter topologies are the new trend in this industry because they do not have double-line frequency problems and they do not need the use of electrolyte capacitors. Moreover, these topologies can provide additional features such as four-wire operation. This paper presents a detailed discussion of the strong points of three-phase microinverters compared to single-phase counterparts. The developed topologies of three-phase microinverters are presented and evaluated based on a new classification based on the simplest topologies among dozens of existing inverters. Moreover, the paper considers the required standardized features of PV, grid, and the microinverter topology. These features have been classified as mandatory and essential. Examples of the considered features for classifications are Distributed Maximum Power Point Tracking (DMPPT), voltage boosting gain, and four-wire operation. The developed classification is used to identify the merits and demerits of the classified inverter topologies. Finally, a recommendation is given based on the classified features, chosen inverter topologies, and associated features.

At present the multi-stage transformation topology are more used in photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected system, although the control of this structure is relatively simple but the conversion efficiency is difficult to improve due to increase in transformation series. The single stage topology has a simple topology with high reliability and efficiency because of low power consumption, but control algorithm is more complex because of its power convert main circuit without DC-DC. This paper describes a method for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in the single-stage and single-phase PV grid-connected system. In the paper, the nonlinear output characteristics of the PV including I-V & P-V are obtained in changed solar insulations or temperature based on MATLAB, and the MPPT algorithm which is based on the particle swarm optimization (PSO) method is also described. The simulation model of the single-stage and single-phase PV grid-connected system is built , and simulation results show the MPPT algorithm has excellent dynamic and static performances ,which verifies the PSO method is effective for MPPT in the single-stage and single-phase PV grid-connected system.

This paper mainly presents the fault analysis of Photovoltaic (PV) grid power system. The fuzzy logic controller (FLC) based intelligent maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithm has been employed in this work. Moreover, the hysteresis controller has been implemented for inverter control. Simulation results based on MATLAB/SIMULINK justify the effectiveness of the proposed PV power system under different fault operating conditions.

In India, solar energy meets consumer energy demand and majority of the plants are grid connected. Solar power is mainly depending on two factors, which are sun ray’s incident angle and change of environment conditions. The Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) of photovoltaic (PV) module is necessary to maximize the extraction of PV power under partial shading conditions. The main aim of this paper is to highlight the design and implementation of 5MW solar plant with different power tracking techniques. In addition, the detailed explanation of various materials used to design the PV module is illustrated. This paper also describes the two types of solar rating panels that are used to get high power conversion efficiency as well as continuous power supply along with that the plant cost, monthly and yearly power production and corresponding efficiency is calculated.

Solar power is widely available around the globe but efficient transfer of solar power to the load becomes a challenging task. There are various methods in which the power transfer can be done, the following work proposes a method for efficient tracking of solar power.  MPPT [ maximum power point tracking] algorithm applied on three phase voltage source inverter connected to solar PV array with a three phase load. MPPT is applied on inverter rather than conventionally applying MPPT on DC-DC converter. Perturb and Observe method is applied in the MPPT algorithm to find the optimal modulation index for the inverter to transfer maximum power from the panel. Sine pulse width modulation technique is employed for controlling the switching pattern of the inverter. The algorithm is programmed for changing irradiation and temperature condition. The system does not oscillate about the MPP point as the algorithm set the system at MPP and does not vary till a variation in irradiation is sensed.  The proposed system can be installed at all places and will reduce the cost, size and losses compared to conventional system.

There exist many single-phase photovoltaic generations in modern power distribution network, and these distributed sources may be in a certain extent affect the symmetry of voltage. To investigate the impact of photovoltaic generation on quality problem of distribution network, mathematical and digital model of photovoltaic power generation are built in this paper, and the maximum power point tracking control is simulated based on incremental conductance method.
