Peer-to-peer (P2P) architecture is increasingly gaining attention as a potential solution for the scalability problem facing the Internet of Things (IoT). It can be adopted for the fog computing layer to sustain the massive flow of data from constrained IoT nodes to the cloud. The success of a P2P-based system is entirely dependent on the continuity of resource sharing among individual nodes. Free riding is a severe problem that contradicts this main principle of P2P systems. It is understood that peers tend to consume resources from other peers without offering any in return. This free riding behavior can decrease system scalability and content availability, resulting in a decline in performance. Significant efforts have been made to hinder this behavior and to encourage cooperation amongst peers. To this end, we propose AFMIA, an Adjusted Free-Market-Inspired Approach that considers resources as goods that have dynamic prices based on the amount of supply and demand. Peers have wealth that can be increased by providing resources and spent by consuming them. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm can successfully improve fairness without compromising on success rates.

Although the original intent of the peer-to-peer (P2P) concept is to treat each participant equally, the heterogeneity is an inherent characteristic of P2P systems. In this paper, according to the previous researches in P2P resource sharing networks, we first conclude and classify the heterogeneity in P2P networks, and then analyze each type of P2P systems that utilize heterogeneity in P2P network. The above analysis and conclusion will become a good guidance to design new resource locating algorithm which takes advantage of heterogeneity in P2P networks.

Resource sharing is the dominant peer-to-peer (P2P) application on the Internet, allowing users to easily contribute, search and obtain content. A key weakness of most existing P2P systems is the lack of anonymity. In this paper, we present an anonymous p2p resource sharing system, and this system has three desirable features as follows. First, the proposed P2P system makes it impossible for third parties to identify the participants involved. Second, the proposed P2P system can guarantee that only the content receiver knows the content. Third, the proposed P2P system can allow the content publisher to plausibly deny that the content originated from him or her.

To further implement decentralized renewable energy resources, blockchain based peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading is gaining attention and its architecture has been proposed with virtual demonstrations. In this paper, to further socially implement this concept, a blockchain based peer to peer energy trading system which could coordinate with energy control hardware was constructed, and a demonstration experiment was conducted. Previous work focused on virtually matching energy supply and demand via blockchain P2P energy markets, and our work pushes this forward by demonstrating the possibility of actual energy flow control. In this demonstration, Plug-in Hybrid Electrical Vehicles(PHEVs) and Home Energy Management Systems(HEMS) actually used in daily life were controlled in coordination with the blockchain system. In construction, the need of a multi-tagged continuous market was found and proposed. In the demonstration experiment, the proposed blockchain market and hardware control interface was proven capable of securing and stably transmitting energy within the P2P energy system. Also, by the implementation of multi-tagged energy markets, the number of transactions required to secure the required amount of electricity was reduced.

With the emergence of wireless devices, service delivery for ad-hoc networks has started to attract a lot of attention recently. Ad-hoc networks provide an attractive solution for networking in the situations where network infrastructure or service subscription is not available. We believe that overlay networks, particularly peer-to-peer (P2P) systems, is a good abstraction for application design and deployment over ad-hoc networks. The principal benefit of this approach is that application states are only maintained by the nodes involved in the application execution and all other nodes only perform networking related functions. On the other hand, data access applications in Ad-hoc networks suffer from restricted resources. In this thesis, we explore how to use Cooperative Caching to improve data access efficiency in Ad-hoc network. We propose a Resource-Aware Cooperative Caching P2P system (RACC) for data access applications in Ad-hoc networks. The objective is to improve data availability by considering energy of each node, demand and supply of network. We evaluated and compared the performance of RACC with Simple Cache, CachePath and CacheData schemes. Our simulation results show that RACC improves the lay of query as well as energy usage of the network as compared to Simple Cache, CachePath and CacheData.

There are fads in development economics,1 and the latest today, at least in the North, is what may be called laissez-faireism. This states the belief that a retreat from government activism in economic affairs is the major means of improving the quality of a country's performance. It is seen as ‘central to the solution of a lot of the problems we see around the world’.2Such a strategy stresses the benefits of reliance on markets, on profit incentives, and on the growth of private sectors. Free-market pricing is crucial not only for products (in Africa, particularly agricultural products), but also in factor markets and in international transactions. Wages should be allowed to find their own level, as determined by supply and demand. Exchange rates should also be permitted to approach their natyral levels, for artificially over-valued exchange rates are especially damaging. Tariffs and other forms of protection should be cut back. Countries should turn away from inward-looking import-substitution towards outward-looking export-orientation. 3
