Social distancing became a must during the pandemic, which not only had implications for people’s social lives, but also for their learning. Collaborative work was almost impossible, especially in the classroom, despite a great need for this approach. For example, in their translation classes, the learners needed to collaborate with their peers, assisting each other in translating texts. Thus, the use of breakout groups is proposed in this study, although there is no guarantee that learners will accept this online approach. Consequently, the current research looks at learners’ acceptance of breakout groups on Blackboard in a translation class. To examine their acceptance, an existing scale was used, developed by Davis (1989) to measure two factors of technology acceptance: perceived usefulness and ease of use. A sample of 54 students on a Translation course at Al-Imam Mohammed Ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, participated in this study. The results show that the learners found breakout groups on Blackboard to be useful and easy to use.

The purpose of the study is to examine the factors that impact the intention of Saudi citizens to use a mobile government smartphone application (Absher). Saudi Arabia seeks to invest and develop the infrastructure of the government’s mobile services, to be one of the leading countries in the region. Smartphone applications backed by mobile technologies have changed mobile services use which permit anywhere at any time access. Drawing on technology acceptance theories and relevant literature, this study developed and tested a structural model that integrates factors perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived privacy and trust in order to investigate the predictors of Absher use intention in the Saudi Arabia. The proposed model is tested using structural equation model (SEM) on data collected using an online questionnaire. Statistical analysis revealed that intention to use Absher was significantly associated with perceived trust, security and privacy, ease of use, and usefulness. Drawing on the technology acceptance model and trust theory, this study develops and empirically examines a model for users' intention to use mobile government services. This study contributes to the marketing literature by examining the impact of PU, PEOU and trust on mobile government services acceptance in developing countries.

Fast development in mobile phones has enabled higher educational institutions to adapt and initiate mobile technologies. It can also make way for learning using mobile devices and systems. This chapter investigated the present state of student and faculty perception towards m-learning at open and distance educational institutes (ODEIs) in Pakistan. The chapter presents a conceptual model based on technology acceptance model, which explains the factors influencing student and faculty perception towards m-learning acceptance. Since m-learning acceptance mainly depends on personal attitude, this study focuses on individual context. Primary data from students and faculty (N=612) was collected. The SEM results indicate that skill readiness (SK) and self-efficacy (SE) influence perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU), where these two factors along with prior experience (PE) positively influence behavioral intension (BI) to accept mobile learning. Furthermore, the results of this study specifically provide factors which positively influence BI either directly or indirectly.

Background: The employment of IT in healthcare reflects a need to meet the increasing demands of patients and to upgrade the quality and productivity of the provided services. However, the literature demonstrates many failures in systems and IT technology implementation. One of the reasons behind these failures is users’ resistance. The ministry of health (MOH) in Saudi Arabia (SA) has prioritized the embracing of new technologies that could improve the healthcare services, such as electronic medical record (EMR) systems. On the other hand, studies that address the acceptance and use of hospital information systems (HIS) and EMRs in SA from patients’ standpoint are scarce. The aim of this study was to explore patients’ acceptance of an EMR system by proposing a model adapted from the technology acceptance model (TAM) and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT). Methods: An online questionnaire was used where questions were based on the proposed model constructs (facilitating conditions (FC), perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), attitude (ATT), and behavioral intention (BI)). 116 patients responded to the questionnaire. The model was then tested to identify the factors that affect patients’ intention to use the online services of the EMR. Results: The analysis of the research model suggested that (1) FCs influenced the degree of system’s PEOU. (2) PEOU affected the EMR’s PU. (3) PU affected patients’ ATT toward using the EMR. (4) A positive effect is found between ATT and BI to use EMR. Conclusion: The study has implications for healthcare IT acceptance research and efforts in SA, as to date patients’ perspectives have received little attention. The research also makes a theoretical contribution as it validated the proposed model.

This research focuses on the factors that influence Fintech products and services adoption among bank customers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The extended technology acceptance model (TAM) was employed to determine attributes affecting the adoption of Fintech in Saudi Arabia perspective. The online survey was conducted to collect information on demographic factors and their intentions to adopt FinTech products and services. 300 responses were gathered and their intention to adopt FinTech products are measured by using five Likert Scale to which respondents were required to indicate their agreement or disagreement on perceived ease of use (PEoU), perceived usefulness (PU), social influence (SI), and security concern (SC). The result shows that PU and SI significantly influenced the adoption of FinTech. The findings of this research would be valuable to policy-makers in Saudi Arabia by helping them to determine the variables that have a significant effect on the process of adoption and establish some future potential guidelines for FinTech firms to boost their intention to embrace FinTech in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The main aim and objective of this study is to understand the effectiveness of MALL during Covid-19 in the Pakistani context through the insights gathered from the views of EFL learners at the higher education level. The theoretical framework employed in the research is the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) proposed by Davis (1986). The framework employed in the study is of TAM; its two factors were mainly focused, which are perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU). The purpose of this model in the paper is to understand the behavior and attitude of the learners towards mobile technology. This research is mixed in its nature as it encompasses both qualitative and quantitative research designs. The data have been gathered from fifty students of the undergraduate and postgraduate level of English Department at the Women University Multan. The results of the study have revealed that the factors of PEOU and PU have been found to be working in this study as the learners’ views about the smartphones indicate it.

Companies are now recognizing that their employees require a spectrum of mobile applications in order to achieve maximum efficiency at the workplace. Mobile applications such as WeChat, Twitter and WhatsApp via smartphones have become influential tools and extensively used by employees at the workplace. This state-of-the-art technology in communication has penetrated various fields, including routine administrative jobs at the workplace. The objective of this research is toinvestigate the acceptance of the WhatsApp mobile application for formal use among support staff at The Commission of the City of Kuching North, Sarawak (DBKU). Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and behavioral intention of the users in using WhatsApp are the variables measured for job performance. The researchers utilized convenience sampling, whereby a total of 105 employees from two departments participated in the investigation. Data was collected using a set of selfadministered questionnaires which was adapted from Davis. The findings revealed that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of WhatsApp as a means of communication were significant for job performance at DBKU. The employees felt more competent during their formal interaction at the workplace as less effort was needed while using WhatsApp. The existence of features which were user-friendly and easy operational functions helped to create positive attitudes when utilizing the application. Faster feedback, ease of use, and convenience were some of the reasons for the employees’ willingness to use WhatsApp for communication at the workplace.

Tech-friendliness in this new era is an important quotient considered and the persons’ acceptance towards the technology frequency matters a lot. But still the frequency varies from person to person, this brought in the concept of Technology Acceptance Model given by Fred Davis in 1989. The theory of TAM is based on two theories that are Theory of Reasoned Action and Theory of Planned Behavior, TAM is extended version of these two. Green Banking is a new technology introduced by the banks that focuses on the growth of Sustainable development and Banking system too. Thus, banks ask their customers to use it or practice it in their daily life transactions. But every customer has their own point of view on the usage of Green banking. Thus, the research aims to understand the customers’ perception towards the Green Banking for this TAM is used. The research states that Perceived risk is the primary factor that is followed by perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use that impacts the decision to use green banking. Thus, the behavioral intention results in actual use of green banking usage for which people are trying to accept the new technology. So, the banks have earned points for creating awareness among their customers but still they have to work hard and clarify their customers’ problems and vanish that hitch that is stopping them to use green banking easily.

With the rapid growth of information technology, electronic money has played an important and central role in the e-payment. Development of electronic money is able to create a trend less-cash society, which is a society’s behavior using non- cash transactions by utilizing the simplicity offered through electronic transactions. The purpose of this research is to determine the factors affecting the intention to use electronic money. We designed a questionnaire and used it to survey a simple random sampling of people who use of e-money in DKI Jakarta. The actual samples used for the study are 125 respondents. We analyzed the data using Structured Equation Modeling to evaluate the strength of the hypothesized effects. The result of the analysis showed that perceived ease of use has no significant effect on attitudes towards the use of e-money. Perceived ease of use has a significant effect on the perceived usefulness of e-money. Perceived usefulness has no significant effect on the intention to use e-money. Perceived usefulness has a significant effect on attitudes towards the use of e-money. Attitude has a significant effect on the intention to use e-money. Subjective norm has a significant effect on the intention to use e-money. Perceived behavioral control has no significant effect on the intention to use e-money. Google classroom can work in unidirectional process as it can serve the teachers’ strategies and styles on one hand and students’ perception, understanding, and effective participation in different classroom skills on the other hand. The ac-ceptance of Google classroom is affected by different factors. Some of them are still not clearly specified and discussed in previous research; therefore, they need further investigation. Based on the previous assumption, this study is an attempt to examine the factors that affect the students’ acceptance of Google classroom at Al Buraimi University College (BUC) in Oman. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was adopted to formulate the hypotheses of the current study. The data was collected through an online questionnaire with 337 respondents. The Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) approach was used to assess both the measurement and structural models. The results of the study prove that both the perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU) positively influence the behavioral intention, which in turn influence the actual usage of Google classrooms. This study helps the decision makers of the higher educational institutions to have a better understanding of the effectiveness of us-ing Google classroom by their students. It is assumed that it helps in measuring the level of students’ acceptance to the previously mentioned technology.

E-learning is a method of delivering knowledge using information technology and electronic media for the remote users. The advantages of e-learning method can be fully achieved with the postgraduate studies as majority of the postgraduate students are engaged in learning while they are working and also geographically dispersed due to the family and work life thus physically appearing for the lecture sessions are difficult to them. This paper attempts to develop a framework to measure the postgraduate students’ perceived technology acceptance by developing a modified version of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) which replaces perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use in the original model of TAM with relative advantage and complexity and incorporate other variables of trialability, observability, compatibility, psychological wellbeing and social influence of the students. The developed model is validated using 30 postgraduate students from Sri Lanka and thus this model can be used in future researchers to measure the perceived e-learning acceptance of postgraduate students.
