The use of avatars in the psychological treatment of some chronic diseases is in their infancy, and it represents a growing field of research with many possibilities for innovation. However, there is a lack of studies seeking to determine if avatar-based therapies could improve mental health in chronic care settings. In fact, to the best of our knowledge, this is the first systematic review addressing this research topic. The objectives of this study were to review the scientific literature on those studies involving avatar-based therapies for chronic patients, as well as different ways to develop them and their efficacy on mental health outcomes. Two main questions were addressed: (1) Are avatar-based strategies useful to improve mental health in chronic patients? (2) Which is the best way to develop avatar-based strategies regarding chronic diseases? A systematic review of the peer-reviewed literature was conducted in March 2021. The results were, not only useful for establishing suitable ways to develop avatar-based strategies to improve mental health in chronic care, but also for providing an ad hoc taxonomy regarding this research topic. Five modalities were established according to technological complexity and avatar presentation. Most of the studies were effective (61.1%) in enhancing mental health in chronic care.

The work sought, through a systematic review research, to study the production on mental health of health workers in the post covid-19 pandemic. Thus, a review of the narrative was carried out, which is characterized by critical analysis of the bibliographic production of the research topic, considering the period chosen for the study. A total of 987 works were found, 891 were excluded because 96 of which the abstracts were read, 19 were selected for the sample that actually dealt with the mental health of health professionals and only 11 were selected to compose the study because it was about post impacts. pandemic. The results showed that the mental health of health workers has always been a reality due to the precariousness of the system, however, it was aggravated by the health emergency and the sociopolitical and economic context and an ongoing necropolitics in the country.

Abstract Aim: To analyze scientific literature on the development and implementation of the Chronic Care Model (CCM) in treating chronic diseases in the Italy context. Besides, to evaluate the effects of the activities carried out by the operators participating in the CCM on clinical care. Background: Italy is the second country globally for longevity, with 21.4% of citizens over 65 and 6.4% over 80. The CCM fits into this context, a care model aimed primarily at patients suffering from chronic diseases, especially in emergencies, as the recent COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Cinahl, and Cochrane Library scientific databases were consulted, and the records selected as relevant by title and abstract by nine independent scholars, and disagreements were resolved through discussion. Finally, the studies included in this review were selected based on the eligibility criteria. Results: Twenty potentially relevant studies were selected, and after applying the eligibility criteria and screening by the Critical Appraisal Skills Program tool, eight included in this review. The studies showed the effectiveness of CCM for managing patients with heart failure in primary care settings and significant improvements in clinical outcomes, the reduction of inappropriate emergency room access for chronic patients, and the improvement of patients’ overall health with diabetes. The CCM organizational model is effective in improving the management of metabolic control and the main cardiovascular risk factors. Furthermore, this modality also allows doctors to dedicate more space to patients in the disease’s acute phase. Conclusion: The CCM, with its fundamental pillars of empowering self-management of care, could represent a valid alternative to health management. The managers of health services, especially territorial ones, could consider the CCM for the improvement of the treatments offered.

BACKGROUND Mental disorders are normally diagnosed exclusively on the basis of symptoms, which are identified from patients' interviews and self-reported experiences. To make mental health diagnoses and monitoring more objective, different solutions have been proposed such as Digital Phenotyping of Mental Health (DPMH), which can expand the ability to identify and monitor health conditions based on the interactions of people with digital technologies. OBJECTIVE This article aims to identify and characterize technically the sensing applications and public datasets for DPMH. METHODS We performed a systematic review of scientific literature and datasets. We searched digital libraries and dataset repositories to find results that met the selection criteria. RESULTS After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, 31 articles and 8 datasets were selected for data extraction, in which we summarized their characteristics and identified trends and research opportunities. CONCLUSIONS Results evidenced growth in proposals for DPMH sensing applications in recent years as opposed to a scarcity of public datasets. This systematic review provides in-depth analysis regarding solutions for DPMH.

Due to the pandemic caused by the COVID-19, we are forced to maintain a social distance, relying on technology such as the use of robots for both commercial and educational activities. This document is a systematic review of scientific literature using Prism methodology and aims to determine the best characteristics for the development of educational robots in children on infectious disease care. We obtained 50 articles associated to the research topic collected from databases such as IEEE Xplore, Scielo, Scopus and WoS. The results were synthesized in different tables and graphs separated in approaches of: robotics in education, robotics in relation to humans, education in diseases, robotics in health and digital applications in education, where the first one is the most treated in the articles found.
