The continuous development of spacecraft with large flexible structures has resulted in an increase in the mass and aspect ratio of launch vehicles, while the wide application of lightweight materials in the aerospace field has increased the flexible modes of launch vehicles. In order to solve the problem of deviation from the nominal control or even destabilization of the system caused by uncertainties such as unknown or unmodelled dynamics, frequency perturbation of the flexible mode, changes in its own parameters, and external environmental disturbances during the flight of such large-scale flexible launch vehicles with simultaneous structural deformation, rigid-elastic coupling and multimodal vibrations, an improved adaptive augmentation control method based on model reference adaption, and spectral damping is proposed in this paper, including a basic PD controller, a reference model, and an adaptive gain adjustment based on spectral damping. The baseline PD controller was used for flight attitude control in the nominal state. In the non-nominal state, the spectral dampers in the adaptive gain adjustment law extracted and processed the high-frequency signal from the tracking error and control-command error between the reference model and the actual system to generate the adaptive gain. The adjustment gain was multiplied by the baseline controller gain to increase/decrease the overall gain of the system to improve the system’s performance and robust stability, so that the system had the ability to return to the nominal state when it was affected by various uncertainties and deviated from the nominal state, or even destabilized.

A sliding mode controller for semi-active suspension system of a quarter car is designed with sliding model varying structure control method. This controller chooses Skyhook as a reference model, and to force the tracking error dynamics between the reference model and the plant in an asymptotically stable sliding mode. An equal near rate is used to improve the dynamic quality of sliding mode motion. Simulation result shows that the stability of performance of the sliding-mode controller can effectively improve the driving smoothness and safety.

A semiactive seat suspension control method is proposed in this study and applied to attenuate the vibration of the commercial truck seat for enhancing its ride comfort. The semiactive seat suspension system with a magnetorheological damper behaves with undesirable nonlinear properties. The proposed controller is a typical nonlinear controller, which takes the ideal sky-hook controller as the reference model and forces the tracking error vector. The controller has achieved great performance of attenuating vibration and is robust to parameter uncertainties and external disturbances. The relaxation oscillation phenomenon and convergence were also analyzed by the contribution of the phase portrait. As the phase portrait depicted, the sky-hook controller, a weakly nonlinear system, could be approximated by the equivalent linear approximate model. However, the proposed controller, the sky-hook sliding mode controller, is a strongly nonlinear system, which could not be linearized by the regular perturbation theory, and the criterion is given by the phase portrait. The experiment results showed good agreement with the simulation results, and some other matters encountered were also analyzed in the process of application.

Servo systems of NC machine tools must minimize trajectory control tracking error by preventing machine resonance and trajectory error between forward and backward paths by improving symmetry. To address such issues, we propose two-degree-of-freedom control using a reference model and a servo control method with the mechanical-characteristics-compensator to compensate for machine vibration. Results of experiments confirmed the effectiveness of our proposed control.

This paper presents a method of utilizing a non-contact position sensor for the tilting and movement control of a rotor in a rotary magnetic levitation motor system. This system has been studied with the aim of having a relatively simple and highly clean alternative application compared to the spin coater used in the photoresist coating process in the semiconductor wafer process. To eliminate system wear and dust problems, a shaft-and-bearing-free magnetic levitation motor system was designed and a minimal non-contact position sensor was placed. An algorithm capable of preventing derailment and precise movement control by applying only control without additional mechanical devices to this magnetic levitation system was proposed. The proposed algorithm was verified through simulations and experiments, and the validity of the algorithm was verified by deriving a precision control result suitable for the movement control command in units of 0.1 mm at 50 rpm rotation drive.

With the increasing relevance of the Internet of Things and large-scale location-based services, LoRa localization has been attractive due to its low-cost, low-power, and long-range properties. However, existing localization approaches based on received signal strength indicators are either easily affected by signal fading of different land-cover types or labor intensive. In this work, we propose SateLoc, a LoRa localization system that utilizes satellite images to generate virtual fingerprints. Specifically, SateLoc first uses high-resolution satellite images to identify land-cover types. With the path loss parameters of each land-cover type, SateLoc can automatically generate a virtual fingerprinting map for each gateway. We then propose a novel multi-gateway combination strategy, which is weighted by the environmental interference of each gateway, to produce a joint likelihood distribution for localization and tracking. We implement SateLoc with commercial LoRa devices without any hardware modification, and evaluate its performance in a 227,500-m urban area. Experimental results show that SateLoc achieves a median localization error of 43.5 m, improving more than 50% compared to state-of-the-art model-based approaches. Moreover, SateLoc can achieve a median tracking error of 37.9 m with the distance constraint of adjacent estimated locations. More importantly, compared to fingerprinting-based approaches, SateLoc does not require the labor-intensive fingerprint acquisition process.

The flat-plate momentum test bench is a widely used experimental device in the verification of the momentum law of fluid mechanics, and its error characteristics are of positive significance for theoretical research and engineering innovation and expansion. The SPH-FEM coupling algorithm and spectrum analysis method are used to calculate and analyze the displacement response and spectrum characteristics of the characteristic points of the sensor under different jet loads. Based on them, the cause, classification, law, scope, influence and control method of the measurement error of the system are discussed and analyzed with the application of the error theory and the lateral effect theory of strain gauges; combined with physical experiments, the relevant analysis methods and conclusions are verified. The results show that the measurement error of the system includes linear error and periodic error. Structural deformation in the direction of jet impact is the main source of linear error; linear error increases with the increase of jet loads. Meanwhile, periodic vibration in non-jet direction is the main cause of periodic error, and the periodic error decreases with the increase of jet loads.

To solve the shortcomings of existing control methods for an electromagnetic direct drive vehicle robot driver, including large speed tracking error and large mileage deviation, a new adaptive speed control method for the electromagnetic direct drive vehicle robot driver based on fuzzy logic is proposed in this paper. The electromagnetic direct drive vehicle robot driver adapts an electromagnetic linear motor as its drive mechanism. The control system structure is designed. The coordinated controller for multiple manipulators is presented. Moreover, an adaptive speed controller for the electromagnetic direct drive vehicle robot driver is proposed to achieve the accurate tracking of desired speed. Experiments are conducted using a Ford FOCUS car. Performances of the proposed method, proportional–integral–derivative, and fuzzy neural network are compared and analyzed. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control method can accurately track the target speed, and it can inhabit the change of speed caused by interference under different test conditions, and it has small mileage deviation, which can meet the requirements of national vehicle test standards.

This paper addressed the formation control problem of surface unmanned vessels with model uncertainty, parameter perturbation, and unknown environmental disturbances. A formation control method based on the control force saturation constraint and the extended state observer (ESO) was proposed. Compared with the control methods which only consider the disturbances from external environment, the method proposed in this paper took model uncertainties, parameter perturbation, and external environment disturbances as the compound disturbances, and the ESO was used to estimate and compensate for the disturbances, which improved the anti-disturbance performance of the controller. The formation controller was designed with the virtual leader strategy, and backstepping technique was designed with saturation constraint (SC) function to avoid the lack of force of the actuator. The stability of the closed-loop system was analyzed with the Lyapunov method, and it was proved that the whole system is uniformly and ultimately bounded. The tracking error can converge to arbitrarily small by choosing reasonable controller parameters. The comparison and analysis of simulation experiments showed that the controller designed in this paper had strong anti-disturbance and anti-saturation performance to the compound disturbances of vessels and can effectively complete the formation control.

Aiming at the problems such as switch impulsion, insurmountability for influence caused by nonlinearity in one tank gun control system which adopts double PID controller to realize the multimode switch control between high speed and low speed movement, the system math model is built up; And then, Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) method based on nonroutine reference model is brought in and the adaptive gun controller is designed. Consequently, the compensation of nonlinearity and multimode control are implemented. Furthermore, the Tracking Differentiator (TD) is affiliated to the front of controller in order to restrain the impulsion caused by mode switch. Finally, the validity of control method in this paper is verified by simulation.
