In the framework of an exactly soluble model, one considers a typical problem of the interaction between radiation and matter: the dynamics of population in a multilevel quantum system subject to a time dependent perturbation. The algebraic structure of the model is taken richly enough, such that there exists a strong argument in favor of the fact that the behavior of the system in the asymptotic of long time has a universal character, which is system-independent and governed by the functional property of the time dependence exclusively. Functional properties of the excitation time dependence, resulting in the regimes of resonant excitation, random walks, and dynamic localization, are identified. Moreover, an intermediate regime between the random walks and the localization is identified for the polyharmonic excitation at frequencies given by the Liouville numbers.

We generalise the epidemic Renormalization Group framework while connecting it to a SIR model with time-dependent coefficients. We then confront the model with COVID-19 in Denmark, Germany, Italy and France and show that the approach works rather well in reproducing the data. We also show that a better understanding of the time dependence of the recovery rate would require extending the model to take into account the number of deaths whenever these are over 15% of the cumulative number of infected cases.

Composite structures consisting of precast and cast in‐situ concrete elements are increasingly common. These combinations demand a mechanical model which takes into account the time‐dependent behaviour and analysis of the different ages of the connected concrete components. The effect of creep and shrinkage of the different concrete components can be of relevance for the state of serviceability, as well as for the final state. The long‐time behaviour of concrete can be described by the rate‐of‐creep method, combined with a discretisation of time. The internal forces are described for each time interval using a system of linear differential equations, which can be solved by Laplace‐transform.
