High-quality, all-inorganic CsPbBr3/Cs4PbBr6 composite perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) were obtained with all-solution-processing at room temperature, and a photodetector (PD) with high detectivity was realized based on CsPbBr3/Cs4PbBr6 NCs. The detectivity (D*) of the proposed PD is 4.24 × 1012 Jones under 532 nm illumination, which is among the highest levels for PDs based on all-inorganic perovskite NCs. In addition, a high linear dynamic range (LDR) of 115 dB under 1 V bias was also realized. Furthermore, the underlying mechanism for the enhanced performance of the proposed PD was discussed. Our work might promote the preparation of high-performance PDs based on dual-phase all-inorganic perovskite nanocrystals.

Abstract We have developed two enzyme analyzers for use in "high-performance" liquid chromatography. In both systems two detectors are used, placed after the column effluent has been combined with assay reagent. In one system, an absorbance detector is placed before and after a post-column reaction coil. Peaks observed at one detector are subtracted from those at the other, to produce a two-point measurement of enzyme activity. The linear dynamic range was 17--1700 U/L for lactate dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.27). In the other system, two reaction coils were used and a single fluorescence detector was placed at the end of each coil. These coils were kept at different temperatures, and an automated switching valve diverted equal amounts of column effluent and reagent into both coils. The fluorescence readings were then subtracted to produce a differential measurement of enzyme activity. The linear dynamic range was 20--1000 U/L. We used both systems to chromatographically analyze lactate dehydrogenase isoenzymes, and could separately determine both the distribution and activity of sample isoenzymes.

A sample cell for observing the Shpol'skii effect at 77 K is described and analytically assessed. The cell employs fiber-optic light guides to transport excitation and emission radiation. The system is compact, inexpensive, and simple to construct from commercially available laboratory components, and it alleviates several problems inherent in conventional refrigerated-cell designs. Detection limits for anthracene, coronene, and pyrene obtained with the sample cell are 8.8 × 10−8 M, 8.4 × 10−7 M, and 3.5 × 10−7 M, respectively. The linear dynamic range for each compound is 2 to 3 orders of magnitude.
