In this paper, the improvement of the cascaded prediction method was presented. Three types of main predictor block with different levels of complexity were compared, including two complex prediction methods with backward adaptation, i.e., extension Active Level Classification Model (ALCM+) and extended Ordinary Least Square (OLS+). Our own approach to implementation of the effective context-dependent constant component removal block is also presented. Additionally, the improved adaptive arithmetic coder with short, medium and long-term adaptation was presented, and the experiment was carried out comparing the results with other known lossless audio coders against which our method obtained the best efficiency.

Indonesia has a significant and growing shortfall of housing. Existing supply is in poor condition and demand is rising for new units. Meanwhile, people's purchasing power to buy a house is still relatively low. Government overcomes added stock housing availability by collaborating with private developers to help meet the demand for housing needs. Islamic banks can provide funds to buy houses for the community. This study analyzes the effect of third-party fund (TPF), margin of homeownership financing (PPR), inflation, and household income on Islamic financing for homeownership. The analytical model used in this research is the ordinary least square with the Error Correction Model (ECM) method. The Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method in this study is used to see the relationship between the short-term and long-term effects of the independent variables on the dependent variable. The analytical tool used in this research is Econometric Views (EViews 10 Standard Edition for Windows). The study results show that in the short term, the TPF, PPR margin, inflation, and household income variables have a significant positive effect on homeownership financing in Islamic banks in Indonesia. The long term TPF, inflation, and household income variables have a significant positive effect on homeownership financing in Islamic banks in Indonesia, but the variable of PPR margin has a significant negative impact on sharia financing for homeownership.

This study examined the effect of capital structure on profitability of listed insurance firms in Nigeria for the period 2013-2017 The study used correlation research design. The source of data which were collected from the published annual financial reports of studies listed insurance firms in Nigeria. The population of the study comprised of the 28 listed insurance firms. The sample size was fifteen (15) listed insurance firms in Nigeria. The data collected were analyzed with the aid of OLS multiple regression technique. Using 75 firm-year paneled observations, the result of the ordinary least square regression showed that short-term debt has a negative and significant effect on the profitability of listed insurance firms in Nigeria. In addition, long-term debt has a positive and significant effect on profitability. Finally, premium growth has positively significant effect on profitability of listed insurance firms. Based on the findings, the study recommends that the management of listed insurance firms should strive towards having optimum capital structure by increasing their equity level and reducing dependence on debts so as to avoid being cash strapped and debt ridden.

Today, customers are looking for benefits from the bank, better service, lower transaction fees, higher interest rates, a sign of prestige, new products access from different channels. This study evaluates the influence of CRM dimensions on bank performance. Zenith Bank Plc was selected through purposive method, while judgmental sampling technique was also used to select Head of Operation, Accountant, Auditor, and Branch Manager from its 35 branches in Lagos, Nigeria, totaling 140 respondents as a sample size for the study. Multiple regression analysis, Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method of estimation was employed to analyze the data. Results revealed that CRM dimensions (customer involvement, long-term relationship with customers, joint problem-solving and information sharing) jointly and independently influence bank performance measured by customer satisfaction, deposit mobilization and profit level. Subsequently, the study recommended that management of Nigerian banks should be actively involved in changes in organization in order to spread positive vision of CRM concept and to support organizational change.

Introduction: Right Ventricular End-Diastolic Volume indexed (RVEDVi) obtained by MRI is an accurate measure of RV size and a marker for secondary complications. Echo RV measurements are used early in life after TOF repair for practical reasons. We sought to examine the correlation between early echo Right Ventricular End-Diastolic Dimension z-score (RVEDDz) and MRI RVEDVi at 15 years post-repair. The relationship between these parameters and repair technique is investigated. Methods: 185 TOF patients were repaired at our institution from 1996-2002. Repair techniques were: annulus preservation (AP=124), trans-annular patch (TAP=56), and Pulmonary valve replacement (n=5, patients excluded). Data was reviewed for outcomes, echo studies, and MRI reports. A linear ordinary least square model demonstrated the relationship between early RVEDDz and late RVEDVi (n=57) . Longitudinal analysis with mixed effects model was performed on 783 serial echocardiograms (n=146) to demonstrate the effect of technique on RVEDDz progression. Results: RVEDDz at 1-5 years post-repair was a significant predicator for late RVEDVi (p=0.0016). A change in RVEDDz from 0-3 predicted an increase in RVEDVi of 28 mL. TAP repair was an independent predictor of a larger RVEDVi (p=0.0011). TAP was associated with more RV dilation throughout follow-up (0.37 RVEDDz higher every 5 years, p<0.0001). TAP patients had larger late RV volumes for the same early RVEDDz as those with AP repair (Fig. 1). The same findings were demonstrated in a sub-analysis of anatomically matched patients who could have had either TAP or AP based on surgeon choice. Conclusion: These results from a single institution support the use of RVEDDz by echo as an early maker for late MRI RV volumes in TOF. Early identification of high risk patients may influence decisions around follow-up and re-interventions. Larger population studies are needed to confirm these findings and the effects of technique on long-term RV health. Fig 1.

This study analyses the economics and determinants of a brewery industry (Guinness Nigeria Limited) with a view of establishing the future of breweries in Nigeria. The specific objectives were to estimate the factors influencing products production and determine the viability of products manufactured by the company. Multiple regression and the ordinary least square techniques were used to analyse the long-term (2006 - 2015) annual time series data observed for the study. The results showed that the major determinant of Stout, Harp and Malt production is demanded. As a significant input, it positively influences product production. The observed values of regression coefficients (R2) are 0.99349 (for Stout), 0.90981 (for Harp), and 0.99498 (for Malt), which indicates that they are reliable for determining the future of Guinness Nigeria Ltd. The results also showed that logarithm of demand for Stout production (LstoutD) of 13.5277, LharpD of 21.8439 and LmaltD of 12.2653 were projected respectively up to the year 2025, an indication that brewery production in the state is viable and that future is bright.

This paper aims to identify the influence of inflation and unemployment on the economic growth of the country. This study recommends some essential policies about unemployment and inflation in the economic growth of Pakistan. In this study, the “Ordinary Least Square (OLS)” method is used with different diagnostic tests for determining the fitness of data for the investigation; and the data is collected from 1980 to 2018. The econometric results suggest that the time series is stationary because the values of t-statistic are more than t-tab and sig value is also significant. The error term on ADF is significant and that ensures that there is long term association. The results of ECM indicate that inflation and unemployment are away from the value of equilibrium. The results of multiple linear regression models indicate that inflation and unemployment are statistically insignificant, and the overall model is also statistically insignificant. There is no multicollinearity and there is no heteroscedasticity as per White test. By running the Ramsay Reset test, the researcher concludes that the model is not specified because the sig value of the t-test and f-test is significant.

Competition in financial companies makes each company increasingly improve its performance so that its goals can still be achieved. The main goal of a company is to get profits, to achieve these goals, management is required to make good planning. Likewise, management in a financial company has a goal, where the Debt Policy and Company Value will affect the company's management in achieving profits. This study aims to analyze as much as possible the effectiveness of profitability, dividend payout ratio, asset structure, Free Cash Flow, company size and sales growth and have an influence on the Debt Policy and Company Value. In this study, researchers used the OLS (Ordinary Least Square) method, the Panel Regression method and the Simultaneous / 2SLS method (Two Stage Least Square). Which aims to analyze the influence of independent variables on the dependent variables both separately and jointly and also see the influence of variables in the short and medium term.

In this paper, the most efficient (from data compaction point of view) and current image lossless coding method is presented. Being computationally complex, the algorithm is still more time efficient than its main competitors. The presented cascaded method is based on the Weighted Least Square (WLS) technique, with many improvements introduced, e.g., its main stage is followed by a two-step NLMS predictor ended with Context-Dependent Constant Component Removing. The prediction error is coded by a highly efficient binary context arithmetic coder. The performance of the new algorithm is compared to that of other coders for a set of widely used benchmark images.
