Strabismus is a common vision disease that brings about unpleasant influence on vision, as well as life quality. A timely diagnosis is crucial for the proper treatment of strabismus. In contrast to manual evaluation, well-designed automatic evaluation can significantly improve the objectivity, reliability, and efficiency of strabismus diagnosis. In this study, we have proposed an innovative intelligent evaluation system of strabismus in digital videos, based on the cover test. In particular, the video is recorded using an infrared camera, while the subject performs automated cover tests. The video is then fed into the proposed algorithm that consists of six stages: (1) eye region extraction, (2) iris boundary detection, (3) key frame detection, (4) pupil localization, (5) deviation calculation, and (6) evaluation of strabismus. A database containing cover test data of both strabismic subjects and normal subjects was established for experiments. Experimental results demonstrate that the deviation of strabismus can be well-evaluated by our proposed method. The accuracy was over 91%, in the horizontal direction, with an error of 8 diopters; and it was over 86% in the vertical direction, with an error of 4 diopters.

The online English teaching system has certain requirements for the intelligent scoring system, and the most difficult stage of intelligent scoring in the English test is to score the English composition through the intelligent model. In order to improve the intelligence of English composition scoring, based on machine learning algorithms, this study combines intelligent image recognition technology to improve machine learning algorithms, and proposes an improved MSER-based character candidate region extraction algorithm and a convolutional neural network-based pseudo-character region filtering algorithm. In addition, in order to verify whether the algorithm model proposed in this paper meets the requirements of the group text, that is, to verify the feasibility of the algorithm, the performance of the model proposed in this study is analyzed through design experiments. Moreover, the basic conditions for composition scoring are input into the model as a constraint model. The research results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper has a certain practical effect, and it can be applied to the English assessment system and the online assessment system of the homework evaluation system algorithm system.

Society's perception of people with different physical capabilities is that people with various physical capabilities might bring about nothing but catastrophe. Therefore, inclusive education implementation has related to society's problem perception should be improved. One way to improve the implementation of inclusive education is to pursue the development of the education system, evaluation system and career system to improve the productiveness so that the life quality might be better. In relation to the statement, the present study's objective is to identify the effectiveness of the sports massage and the circulo massage toward people productiveness with different physical capability based on the educational degree. During the study's conduct, the approach that had been adopted was the quasi-experimental approach with the factorial 2 x 2 design. The data were taken from the people with different physical capability who attended the training programs in the Integrated Rehabilitation Center for the People with Different Physical Capability. The samples were selected from the population by using the Purposive Sampling Technique. Then, in order to measure the productiveness, the researcher distributed a questionnaire to each sample. After the data had been gathered, the data were analysed using multivariate analysis with a significance level of 0.05. The results of the study show that the massage method that has shown the greatest improvement for the work productiveness is the one that has the following sequence: (1) sports massage for with school education; (2) circulo massage without school education; (3) sports massage without school education; and (4) circulo massage with school education. As a result, it might be concluded that the sports massage method with the school education has been the most effective method for improving the work productiveness, which consists of motivation, knowledge, skills, attitude and independence.

Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) systems support direct communication and control between brain and external devices without use of peripheral nerves system and muscles. BCI can convert electro-encephalogram (EEG) to the control signal to try repairing function for patients. So the study of BCI can improve the life quality of the patients. This system acquires EEG signals due to the left/right hand motor imagery among the normal subjects. For the processing of motor imagery EEG, we adopt the feature extraction method of second order moment in specific frequency band and the feature classification of linear discriminate analysis. Through the analysis of motor imagery EEG, we convert the data results into external control signal to control the movement of the cursor displayed on the computer. The experimental results show that the EEG analysis method makes it feasible and effective for disabled patients communicating with the outside world, and provides the basis for further study of brain-machine interface. Keywords: EEG; motor imagery; cursor movement; second-order moment.

Innovative algorithms and software evaluating the three-dimension topography in laser micro-machining are developed in this paper. First according to the features of the three-dimension surface consisted of micro peaks and pits, Gaussian curve parameters are presented and used to form a evaluation system with 22 parameters for three-dimension topography. Based on this, to completely and precisely evaluate the three-dimension topography,an assessment module for power spectral density is designed and implemented. Through integrating this module with the 22 parameters, a complete and precise evaluation system is built, which can evaluate the performance not only in vertical direction but also in horizontal is obtained. In software, through using MATLAB/GUI latest interface to implement integration, the following functions are implemented: surface three-dimension topography rebuilding, signal noise reducing, assessment data extracting, roughness calculating, and two-dimensional frequency domain analyzing. Furthermore, with this software, through comparing the parameters and spectrum, it is easy to determine the frequency affecting the roughness, thus providing some clues on how to further reduce the surface roughness. Test results show that this software system can provide more accurate assessment for the surfac three-dimension topography, and can be used to ultra-precision machining surface assessment.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference between the auditory selective attention abilities of normal and cerebral-palsied individuals. Twenty-three cerebral-palsied and 23 normal subjects between the ages of 5 and 21 were asked to repeat a series of 30 items consisting of from 2 to 4 digits in the presence of intermittent white noise. Results of the study indicate that cerebral-palsied individuals perform significantly poorer than normal individuals when the stimulus is accompanied by noise. Noise was not a significant factor in the performance of the normal subjects regardless of age.

Five subjects with normal middle ear mechanisms, and otosclerotic patients, before and after stapedectomy, matched the loudness of their voices to the loudness of a 125-cps-sawtooth noise. The results showed loudness matching functions with gradual slopes, less than 1.00, for the normal subjects and the patients prior to stapedectomy. Post-surgically, the loudness function for the patients increased in steepness to considerably more than 1.00. These results are explained, most logically, in terms of increased sensitivity of the altered middle ear to sound energy generated by the listener’s own voice.

Binaurally asynchronous delayed auditory feedback (DAF) was compared with synchronous DAF in 80 normal subjects. Asynchronous DAF (0.10 sec difference) did not yield results different from those obtained under synchronous DAF with a 0.20 sec delay interval, an interval characteristically resulting in maximum disruptions in speech.

The play behavior of 10 language-impaired children was observed. Their performances in play were compared to those of 10 normal-language children matched for chronological age as well as to those of 10 normal-language children matched for mean length of utterance. The children were observed as they played spontaneously with a standard group of toys and as they played with objects that required object transformations for successful play. The chronological age-matched normal subjects showed a trend toward performance of more object transformations in play than either the language-impaired or younger normal-language children. Additionally, although object transformations were observed in both segments, all children performed more object transformations with objects than with toys.
