In recent years, interest in BIM and GIS applications in civil engineering has been growing. For bridge engineering, BIM/GIS applications such as simulation, visualization, and secondary development have been used to assist practitioners in managing bridge construction and decision-making, including selection of bridge location maintenance decisions. In situ 3D modelling of existing bridges with detailed images from UAV camera has allowed engineers to conduct remote condition assessments of bridges and decide on required maintenance actions. Several studies have investigated the applications of BIM/GIS technology on bridge projects. However, there has been limited focus on reviewing the outcomes of these studies to identify the limitations of BIM and GIS applications on bridge projects. Therefore, the aim of this study was to review the research on BIM/GIS technology applications in bridge projects over the last decade. Using a systematic review process, a total of 90 publications that met the inclusion criteria were reviewed in this study. The review identified the state-of-the-art methods of BIM and GIS applications, respectively, at the planning and design, construction, and operation and maintenance phases of bridge projects. However, the findings point to segregated application of BIM and GIS at all phases of bridge projects. The findings of this study will contribute to guiding practitioners in selecting appropriate BIM and GIS technologies for different aspects of bridge projects.

<p><strong>Abstract.</strong> Digital India program aims to transform India into a knowledge economy with Smart Cities / Smart Villages etc. It depends significantly on Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). It requires enormous computing Infrastructure and RS-GIS trained professionals along with Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Satellite based Earth Observation (EO) data volumes are increasing at a rate of several Terabytes a Day in heterogeneous formats (different spatial and temporal resolutions in optical, thermal and microwave). The recent trends towards free and open access policy creates unprecedented opportunities for both industrial and academic research communities for Big Data applications.</p><p>During the last decade, Engineering Institutions across the nation have improved significantly in terms of high end computing, Wi-Fi campuses and qualified faculty to help students. Agricultural Universities/Colleges are also making extensive use of RS-GIS technology. Many research papers are also being published by students from Engineering / Agricultural Institutions in the domain of RS–GIS. Here lies the scope for enhanced collaboration between ISRO / Industry and Academia in the form of Student Remote Sensing and Geospatial programme (SRSGP) for scaling up operational services to sustain Digital India and boost the <i>Geospatial Readiness Index of the nation</i>. It will expand the hands-on experience of the student community and enrich their job-readiness in the industry and lead to development of trained RS-GIS professionals. It has the potential to make Digital India the global destination for RS-GIS applications similar to how Y-2K made India the global IT-destination.</p>

Abstract. Campi Flegrei caldera (Southern Italy) is one of the most hazardous volcanic complexes in the world since it is located inside the densely inhabited urban district of Naples-Pozzuoli. In the past, the caldera has produced devastating to moderate eruptions and periodically undergoes from strong to minor uplift episodes, named “bradyseism”, almost always accompanied by seismic swarms. Starting from 2005 Campi Flegrei has undergone an unrest crisis, characterized by ground uplift, localized gas emissions and seismicity, often occurring in seismic swarms. As a consequence, the monitoring activities have been progressively increasing, producing a huge amount of data, difficult to manage and match. GIS (Geographical Information System) represents a potent tool to manage great quantity of data, coming from different disciplines. In this study, we show two GIS technology applications to the seismic catalogue of Campi Flegrei. In the first one, a high-quality dataset is extracted from the GeoDatabase addressed to seismological studies that require high precision earthquake locations. In the second application, GIS are used to extract, visualize and analyse the typical seismic swarms of Campi Flegrei. Moreover, density and seismic moment distribution maps were generated for these swarms. In the last application, the GIS allow to highlight a clear variation in the temporal trend of the seismic swarms at Campi Flegrei.

<p>While concrete structures perform well in many situations, lack of durability has emerged as a significant issue for asset owners. A review of past bridge failures was done to identify the most probable causes of bridge failures. This study has tended to focus on current models used for estimating the time to deterioration of concrete bridges instigated by Chloride ingress and Fatigue. Subsequently, mathematical modelling of the best-suited deterioration model is done to arrive at the residual life of two existing bridges. This work has highlighted high variability in the parameters used to describe the durability related properties of in-situ aged concrete. A realistic residual life assessment can be achieved by correct evaluation of these parameters by periodic testing of bridge samples</p>

Abstract. Mobile-Geographic Information System (GIS) is one of the dimensions of these enhancements, which, due to its flexibility, its simplicity with traditional GIS systems, the need for less expertise and low cost, has brought this technology into a variety of areas. Mobile technologies using mobile devices is proving to be a more effective implementation for crime detection and monitoring. Mobile-GIS are operating within a wider range of GIS technologies, wireless technologies, and global positioning technology. The ability to use this system to report crime and control crime in cities has led different countries to use this system for easier and less costly reporting of citizens, and many developed countries use Mobile-GIS technology to do this. And they use this technology depending on their needs. In this research, Mobile-GIS applications in the five developed countries of the world are being studied and their disadvantages and advantages are discussed, and finally, regarding to society safety the possibilities and necessity of police department to develop such programs are discussed. In this study, we are proposing a crime reporting and management model using GIS technologies and review the all possibility and limitation to implementation are confronted in order to mitigate the challenges are faced by most developing countries in reducing the crime rates. A conceptual plan for constructing such a program in the police department has been proposed, which is suggested by using systems like Real-time kinematic (RTK) to improve the user's location to increase accuracy.

<p>Any struoture in navigable waters constitutes a hazard to shipping and is itself vulnerable to damage or destruction in the event of vessel collision. Worldwide vessel traffic and the average size of vessels continue to lncrease. At the same time, ever more bridges crossing navigable waterways are being planned and constructed, sometimes with inadequate navigation clearance and/or lnadequate protection. <p> The objective of this publication is to provide information and guidelinesfor engineers charged with the planning and design of new bridges, navlgation channels, and prevention and protection measures. Lt offers advice on up­grading and retrofrtting existing bridges and navigation channels. And lt provides the means to evaluate the safety of bridges, vessels, persons and the environment. <p>After reviewing some basics o! navigatlon and vessel traffic, and consider­ing risk acceptance and collision risk, the publication examines vessel impact forces on bridges and proposes appropriate bridge design criteria. Prevention measures, such as regulations and management systems. And protectlon measures and systems are also described. Abstract The planning and design of any coal mine development requires among others a thorough investigation of the geological, geotechnical and hydrogeological subsurface conditions. As part of a coal mine exploration program we conducted heat pulse vertical flow meter testing. The flow data were combined with absolute and differential temperature logging data to gain information about the hydraulic characteristics of two different coal seams and their over- and interburden. For the strata that were localised based on geophysical logging data including density, gamma ray and resistivity hydraulic properties were quantified. We demonstrate that the temperature log response complements the flow meter log response. A coupling of both methods is therefore recommended to get an insight into the hydraulic conditions in a coal seam and its overburden.

To explore the landscape planning of the comprehensive sports stadium and the football field, the similarities and differences between the comprehensive sports stadium and the football field landscape design and the general park design were analyzed by GIS technology. Special factors were discussed in the design of the complex sports stadium and football field. The treatment methods and principles of these special factors were analyzed. The results showed that their characteristics were created while meeting the functional requirements of each space. The local history and cultural scene left a deep impression on the viewers. Therefore, the design of sports facilities is consistent with the overall landscape effect. During the transformation of the base, the relationship between the original landform protection and development of the base is emphasized. This provides information and assistance for the comprehensive sports stadium and football field landscape design.

The urban development management is a complex science including many different fields in which scheming management plays a vital role. How to make the process of urbanization develop stable? Most of the departments of urban management may use drawing software to keep scheming/planning data under control, attributive information is thought to be particularly treated or directly noted in drawing file. With the aforementioned facts, the management of urban plan is simplified and the urban planning managers can reduce their labor, as well as their time. Climate change is increasingly complex and unpredictable worldwide. The consequence of global warming is the rise in sea level that caused more severe flooding. Vietnam is one of the countries severely affected by this process. In this paper, the authors aim to use the opportunities offered by GIS analysis of mapping flood warning service for flood protection, rescue, and traffic, to provide the residents with the forecast changes about the route they have chosen to move through flood zone, and to study the functional process of planning management model applying GIS technology to support the management of zoning plan.
