Link prediction to optimize network performance is of great significance in network evolution. Because of the complexity of network systems and the uncertainty of network evolution, it faces many challenges. This paper proposes a new link prediction method based on neural networks trained on scale-free networks as input data, and optimized networks trained by link prediction models as output data. In order to solve the influence of the generalization of the neural network on the experiments, a greedy link pruning strategy is applied. We consider network efficiency and the proposed global network structure reliability as objectives to comprehensively evaluate link prediction performance and the advantages of the neural network method. The experimental results demonstrate that the neural network method generates the optimized networks with better network efficiency and global network structure reliability than the traditional link prediction models.

Methods for evaluation the manufacturability of a vehicle in the field of production and operation based on an energy indicator, expert estimates and usage of a neural network are stated. By using the neural network method the manufacturability of a car in a complex and for individual units is considered. The preparation of the initial data at usage a neural network for predicting the manufacturability of a vehicle is shown; the training algorithm and the architecture for calculating the manufacturability of the main units are given. According to the calculation results, comparative data on the manufacturability vehicles of various brands are given.

In this study we apply back propagation Neural Network models to predict the daily Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index. The learning algorithm and gradient search technique are constructed in the models. We evaluate the prediction models and conclude that the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index is predictable in the short term. Empirical study shows that the Neural Network models is successfully applied to predict the daily highest, lowest, and closing value of the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index, but it can not predict the return rate of the Shanghai Stock Exchange Composite Index in short terms.

An inertial platform is the key component of a remote sensing system. During service, the performance of the inertial platform appears in degradation and accuracy reduction. For better maintenance, the inertial platform system is checked and maintained regularly. The performance change of an inertial platform can be evaluated by detection data. Due to limitations of detection conditions, inertial platform detection data belongs to small sample data. In this paper, in order to predict the performance of an inertial platform, a prediction model for an inertial platform is designed combining a sliding window, grey theory and neural network (SGMNN). The experiments results show that the SGMNN model performs best in predicting the inertial platform drift rate compared with other prediction models.

This paper compares two approaches to determining road markings from video sequences, namely, the method of finding the markings using geometrized histograms and the method based on neural networks. An independent open dataset TuSimple is used to conduct a comparative analysis of the algorithms. Since the investigated methods have different architectures, their work is evaluated according to the following metrics: Accuracy, speed (relative FPS), general computational complexity of the algorithm (TFlops).

An effective and reliable evolution model can provide strong support for the planning and design of transportation networks. As a network evolution mechanism, link prediction plays an important role in the expansion of transportation networks. Most of the previous algorithms mainly took node degree or common neighbors into account in calculating link probability between two nodes, and the structure characteristics which can enhance global network efficiency are rarely considered. To address these issues, we propose a new evolution mechanism of transportation networks from the aspect of link prediction. Specifically, node degree, distance, path, expected network structure, relevance, population and GDP are comprehensively considered according to the characteristics and requirements of the transportation networks. Numerical experiments are done with China’s high-speed railway network, China’s highway network and China’s inland civil aviation network. We compare receiver operating characteristic curve and network efficiency in different models and explore the degree and hubs of networks generated by the proposed model. The results show that the proposed model has better prediction performance and can effectively optimize the network structure compared with other baseline link prediction methods.

This paper discusses the neural network application for the information processing in the netted radar tracking systems compared with the problems of the conventional radar information processing. And then test the neural network using simulation method. The simulation result shows that the neural network method can perfectly solve the target tracking problems in the netted radar systems.
