Despite the importance of recognizing Arabic calligraphy styles and their potential usefulness for many applications, a very limited number of Arabic calligraphy style recognition works have been established. Thus, we propose a new computational tool for Arabic calligraphy style recognition (ACSR). The present work aims to identify Arabic calligraphy style (ACS) from images where text images are captured by different tools from different resources. To this end, we were inspired by the indices used by human experts to distinguish different calligraphy styles. These indices were transformed into a descriptor that defines, for each calligraphy style, a set of specific features. Three scenarios have been considered in the experimental part to prove the effectiveness of the proposed tool. The results confirmed the outperformance of both individual and combine features coded by our descriptor. The proposed work demonstrated outstanding performance, even with few training samples, compared to other related works for Arabic calligraphy recognition.

The design idea and design flow of the simulation software on the complex reaction kinetics are introduced in this article. Firstly, the total framework of the software was determined by the goal and function of the software; Secondly, the manuscript was written, the multimedia material was made and the computational programs were designed, the examples of making multimedia material by Photoshop and Flash are introduced, moreover, the thinking and method of program is introduced; Finally, The material such as text, images, sounds, animation is integrated by Authorware. The simulation software has friendly interface and simple operation, it can be used as a computational tool in studying chemical kinetics, in addition, the software can be assisted in the teaching such as physical chemistry and reaction engineering.

This research is focused on the visual elements contained on Kusdono's Cirebon glass painting. The writer uses descriptive qualitative research methods to examine the visual elements, with the technique of collecting data from books and journals that relates to the research object. The purpose of this study is to examine and find the meaning of Cirebon glass paintings. The results of this research are Semar as the main figure in the clown who always do good, keep the truth and obey the tenet that closely related to Islam. Arabic calligraphy reinforces Semar's figure. On the Cirebon glass painting, there are many mega mendung ornaments and wadasan which are Cirebon batik motifs, as well as the colors used in the coastal colors due to the geographical location of Cirebon City near the beach.

The choice of cost-effective method of anticorrosive protection of steel structures is an urgent and time consuming task, considering the significant number of protection ways, differing from each other in the complex of technological, physical, chemical and economic characteristics. To reduce the complexity of solving this problem, the author proposes a computational tool that can be considered as a subsystem of computer-aided design and used at the stage of variant and detailed design of steel structures. As a criterion of the effectiveness of the anti-corrosion protection method, the cost of the protective coating during the service life is accepted. The analysis of existing methods of steel protection against corrosion is performed, the possibility of their use for the protection of the most common steel structures is established, as well as the estimated period of effective operation of the coating. The developed computational tool makes it possible to choose the best method of protection of steel structures against corrosion, taking into account the operating conditions of the protected structure and the possibility of using a protective coating.
