When the dynamic characteristics of a bridge structure are analyzed though Hilbert–Huang transform (HHT), the noise contained in the bridge dynamic monitoring data may seriously affect the performance of the first natural frequency identification. A time-frequency analysis method that integrates wavelet threshold denoising and HHT is proposed to overcome this deficiency. The denoising effect of the experimental analysis on the simulated noisy signals proves the effectiveness of the proposed method. This method is used to perform denoising pre-processing on the dynamic monitoring data of Sutong Bridge, and the denoised results of different methods are compared and analyzed. Then, the best denoising data are selected as the input data of Hilbert spectrum analysis to identify the structural first natural frequency of the bridge. The results indicate that the wavelet-empirical mode decomposition (EMD) method effectively reduces the interference of random noise and eliminates useless intrinsic modal function (IMF) components, and the excellent properties of the signal evaluation index after denoising make the method suitable for processing non-stationary signals with noise. When Hilbert spectrum analysis is applied to the denoised data, the first natural frequency of the bridge structure can be identified clearly and is consistent with the theoretical calculation. The proposed method can effectively determine the natural vibration characteristics of the bridge structure.

Background: Rolling mill vibration mechanism is very complex, and people haven't found a satisfactory vibration control method. Rolling interface is one of the vibration sources of the rolling mill system, and its friction and lubrication state has a great impact on the vibration of the rolling mill system. It is necessary to establish an accurate friction model for unsteady lubrication process of roll gap and a nonlinear vibration dynamic model for rolling process. In addition, it is necessary to obtain more direct and real rolling mill vibration characteristics from the measured vibration signals, and then study the vibration suppression method and design the vibration suppression device. Methods: This paper summarizes the friction lubrication characteristics of rolling interface and its influence on rolling mill vibration, as well as the dynamic friction model of rolling interface, the tribological model of unsteady lubrication process of roll gap, the non-linear vibration dynamic model of rolling process, the random and non-stationary dynamic behavior of rolling mill vibration, etc. At the same time, the research status of rolling mill vibration testing technology and vibration suppression methods were summarized. Time-frequency analysis of non-stationary vibration signals was reviewed, such as wavelet transform, Wigner-Ville distribution, empirical mode decomposition, blind source signal extraction, rolling vibration suppression equipment development. Results: The lubrication interface of the roller gap under vibration state presents unsteady dynamic characteristics. The signals generated by the vibration must be analyzed in time and frequency simultaneously. In the aspect of vibration suppression of rolling mill, the calculation of inherent characteristics should be carried out in the design of rolling mill to avoid dynamic defects such as resonance. When designing or upgrading the mill structure, it is necessary to optimize the structure of the work roll bending and roll shifting system, such as designing and developing the automatic adjustment mechanism of the gap between the roller bearing seat and the mill stand, adding floating support device to the drum shaped toothed joint shaft, etc. In terms of rolling technology, rolling vibration can be restrained by improving roll lubrication, reasonably distributing rolling force of each rolling mill, reducing rolling force of vibration prone rolling mill, increasing entrance temperature, reducing rolling inlet tension, reducing strip outlet temperature and reasonably arranging roll diameter. The coupling vibration can also be suppressed by optimizing the hydraulic servo system and the frequency conversion control of the motor. Conclusion: Under the vibration state, the lubrication interface of roll gap presents unsteady dynamic characteristics. The signal generated by vibration must be analyzed by time-frequency distribution. In the aspect of vibration suppression of rolling mill, the calculation of inherent characteristics should be carried out in the design of rolling mill to avoid dynamic defects such as resonance. It is necessary to optimize the structure of work roll bending and roll shifting system when designing or reforming the mill structure. In rolling process, rolling vibration can be restrained by improving roll lubrication, reasonably distributing rolling force of each rolling mill, increasing billet temperature, reasonably arranging roll diameter and reducing rolling inlet tension. Through the optimization of the hydraulic servo system and the frequency conversion control of the motor, the coupling vibration can be suppressed. The paper has important reference significance for vibration suppression of continuous rolling mill and efficient production of high quality strip products.

AbstractThere is evidence that high-frequency transcranial random noise stimulation (hf-tRNS) is effective in improving behavioural performance in several visual tasks. However, so far there has been limited research into the spatial and temporal characteristics of hf-tRNS-induced facilitatory effects. In the present study, electroencephalogram (EEG) was used to investigate the spatial and temporal dynamics of cortical activity modulated by offline hf-tRNS on performance on a motion direction discrimination task. We used EEG to measure the amplitude of motion-related VEPs over the parieto-occipital cortex, as well as oscillatory power spectral density (PSD) at rest. A time–frequency decomposition analysis was also performed to investigate the shift in event-related spectral perturbation (ERSP) in response to the motion stimuli between the pre- and post-stimulation period. The results showed that the accuracy of the motion direction discrimination task was not modulated by offline hf-tRNS. Although the motion task was able to elicit motion-dependent VEP components (P1, N2, and P2), none of them showed any significant change between pre- and post-stimulation. We also found a time-dependent increase of the PSD in alpha and beta bands regardless of the stimulation protocol. Finally, time–frequency analysis showed a modulation of ERSP power in the hf-tRNS condition for gamma activity when compared to pre-stimulation periods and Sham stimulation. Overall, these results show that offline hf-tRNS may induce moderate aftereffects in brain oscillatory activity.

Stress and deformation analysis of 950 mill housing was done by means of ANSYS to calculate the maximum stress and deformation. Strength and stiffness of the mill roll were checked to meet requirements. Carries on the modal analysis to the rolling-mill housing, obtains its first 10 steps the natural frequency and the mode of vibration, through the vibration model diagram analysis frame of the weak link,and it is significant for similar mill housing designs.

A modeling through sensitivity analysis is one of the promising methods to investigate the dynamic characteristics of complex mechanical parts. This study aimed to investigate the effect of sensitivity based on mass and stiffness modification in automobile crankshaft as a function of natural frequency. Verification for the crankshaft model that is used in the experiment and simulation was done and both results showed good agreement and small errors percentage. The modification was also done by reducing the different percentage of crankshaft’s mass and stiffness. Partial differential analysis was used in the sensitivity analysis in order to figure out the natural frequency after every set of modification. According to the results, we also found that there were changes of sensitivity value by changes in mass value but the stiffness value remains unchanged. However, there is no significant effect of stiffness reduction on vibration was found in this research.

Accurate dynamic characteristics of super high-rise buildings serve as a guide in their construction and operation. Ground-based real aperture radar (GB-RAR) techniques have been applied in monitoring and analyzing the dynamic characteristics of different buildings, but only few studies have utilized them to derive the dynamic characteristics of super high-rise buildings, especially those higher than 400 m and under construction. In this study, we proposed a set of technical methods for monitoring and analyzing the dynamic characteristics of super high-rise buildings based on GB-RAR and wavelet analysis. A case study was conducted on the monitoring and analysis of the dynamic characteristics of the Wuhan Greenland Center (WGC) under construction (5–7 July 2017) with a 636 m design height. Displacement time series was accurately derived through GB-RAR and wavelet analysis, and the accuracy reached the submillimeter level. The maximum horizontal displacement amplitudes at the top of the building in the north–south and east–west directions were 18.84 and 15.94 mm, respectively. The roof displacement trajectory of the WGC was clearly identified. A certain negative correlation between the temperature and displacement changes at the roof of the building was identified. Study results demonstrate that the proposed method is effective for the dynamic monitoring and analysis of super high-rise buildings with noninvasive and nondestructive characteristics.

Modal identification aims at identifying the dynamic properties including natural frequency, damping ratio, and mode shape, which is an important step in further structural damage detection, finite element model updating, and condition assessment. This paper presents the work on the investigation of the dynamic characteristics of a long-span cable-stayed bridge-Sutong Bridge by a Bayesian modal identification method. Sutong Bridge is the second longest cable-stayed bridge in the world, situated on the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province, China, with a total length of 2 088[Formula: see text]m. A short-term nondestructive on-site vibration test was conducted to collect the structural response and determine the actual dynamic characteristics of the bridge before it was opened to traffic. Due to the limited number of sensors, multiple setups were designed to complete the whole measurement. Based on the data collected in the field tests, modal parameters were identified by a fast Bayesian FFT method. The first three modes in both vertical and transverse directions were identified and studied. In order to obtain modal parameter variation with temperature and vibration levels, long-term tests have also been performed in different seasons. The variation of natural frequency and damping ratios with temperature and vibration level were investigated. The future distribution of the modal parameters was also predicted using these data.

It is still a challenge to accurately evaluate the structural safety of tunnel during the process of construction. To address this issue, a safety evaluation approach of tunnel based on the monitoring data during construction is proposed in this study. Firstly, the detailed description of modelling the tunnel excavation, releasing the load acting on the tunnel, and selecting the constitutive relationship of surrounding rock of tunnel is introduced. Secondly, aiming at an actual shallow-buried tunnel with underground excavation, utilizing the analytical results of deformation of tunnel, the structural safety of tunnel is evaluated by using a reliability-based method. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by using the dynamic monitoring data obtained during the construction of an actual tunnel.
