Due to the limited deviation range of the controllable levitation gap, the vehicle/track coupling dynamic problem of the maglev transportation system is very prominent. The stability of the electromagnetic levitation system is deeply affected by the track irregularity. It is found that there are obvious dynamic characteristic differences of the electromagnetic levitation system, and the deviation range of the levitation gap increases gradually with the increase of the train speed. This paper presents a vertical dynamics prediction method of the electromagnetic levitation system. Firstly, the model of the electromagnet module and the track is established. Then, the amplitude spectrum functions of the levitation gaps are obtained by using the discrete frequency excitation method. Based on the amplitude spectrum functions, the vertical dynamic response of the levitation system can be predicted. The amplitude spectral analysis results are consistent with the numerical simulation results.

ABSTRACTTo evaluate the dynamic properties of a coupled structure based on the dynamic properties of its substructures, this paper investigates the dynamic substructuring issue from the perspective of response prediction. The main idea is that the connecting forces at the interface of substructures can be expressed by the unknown coupled structural responses, and the responses can be solved rather easily. Not only rigidly coupled structures but also resiliently coupled structures are investigated. In order to further comprehend and visualize the nature of coupling problems, the Neumann series expansion for a matrix describing the relation between the coupled and uncoupled substructures is also introduced in this paper. Compared with existing response prediction methods, the proposed method does not have to measure any forces, which makes it easier to apply than the others. Clearly, the frequency response function matrix of coupled structures can be derived directly based on the response prediction method. Compared with existing frequency response function synthesis methods, it is more straightforward and comprehensible. Through demonstration of two examples, it is concluded that the proposed method can deal with structural coupling problems very well.

In order to forecast the stability of deep roadway and optimize the parameters of bolts, the complex stress environment and the multivariate surrounding rocks characteristics of deep roadway were analyzed. Then the classification prediction method and the numerical simulation method were simultaneously used to analysis the stability of surrounding rocks. Furthermore, the supporting parameters of bolts were also designed optimally. It was shown that the characteristics of stress distribution, deformation and failure zone of surrounding rocks are not ideal. So it is necessary to optimize the supporting parameters of deep roadway. All these research findings will provide the theory basis for bolts of deep roadway and will ensure the optimization of bolts and the stability of deep roadway in the long run.

A limitation in research on bolt anchoring is the unknown relationship between dynamic perturbation and mechanical characteristics. This paper divides dynamic impulse loads into engineering loads and blasting loads and then employs numerical calculation software FLAC3Dto analyze the stability of an anchoring system perturbed by an impulse load. The evolution of the dynamic response of the axial force/shear stress in the anchoring system is thus obtained. It is revealed that the corners and middle of the anchoring system are strongly affected by the dynamic load, and the dynamic response of shear stress is distinctly stronger than that of the axial force in the anchoring system. Additionally, the perturbation of the impulse load reduces stress in the anchored rock mass and induces repeated tension and loosening of the rods in the anchoring system, thus reducing the stability of the anchoring system. The oscillation amplitude of the axial force in the anchored segment is mitigated far more than that in the free segment, demonstrating that extended/full-length anchoring is extremely stable and surpasses simple anchors with free ends.

The spectral method for establishing dynamic response of measuring instruments basically requires determining the amplitude spectrum of the signal in its informative part that includes the amplitude spectrum at zero frequency. The operating frequency range of existing low-frequency spectrum analyzers is above zero frequency that leads to an uncertainty in dynamic response of measuring instruments determined by the spectral method. The purpose of this paper is to develop a program for calculating the signal amplitude spectrum, starting from zero frequency, to implement a spectral method for determining the dynamic response of measuring instruments on computers equipped with the MatLab package.To implement the spectral method for determining the dynamic response of measuring instruments, we developed a program in the MatLab 2013b environment that determines the signal amplitude spectrum from zero Hertz. The program reads the source data from Excel tables and presents the calculated amplitude spectrum as a chart and a report table.It is shown that the developed program calculates the signal amplitude spectrum with a standard deviation of not more than 3.4 % in the frequency range of 0 to 10 rad/s. The calculated amplitude spectrum allows determining the time constant of first-order aperiodic measuring instruments with an uncertainty of not more than 0.166 % at any noise level, if their frequencies are outside the information part of the spectrum.We demonstrated the claimed advantage of the spectral method for determining dynamic response using the developed program by the example of a high-frequency noise in the transient response of some measuring instruments.
