At present, there are very few analysis methods for long-term electroencephalogram (EEG) components. Temporal information is always ignored by most of the existing techniques in cognitive studies. Therefore, a new analysis method based on time-varying characteristics was proposed. First of all, a regression model based on Lasso was proposed to reveal the difference between acoustics and physiology. Then, Permutation Tests and Gaussian fitting were applied to find the highest correlation. A cognitive experiment based on 93 emotional sounds was designed, and the EEG data of 10 volunteers were collected to verify the model. The 48-dimensional acoustic features and 428 EEG components were extracted and analyzed together. Through this method, the relationship between the EEG components and the acoustic features could be measured. Moreover, according to the temporal relations, an optimal offset of acoustic features was found, which could obtain better alignment with EEG features. After the regression analysis, the significant EEG components were found, which were in good agreement with cognitive laws. This provides a new idea for long-term EEG components, which could be applied in other correlative subjects.

This chapter deals with the application of principal components analysis (PCA) to the field of data mining in electroencephalogram (EEG) processing. The principal components are estimated from the signal by eigen decomposition of the covariance estimate of the input. Alternatively, they can be estimated by a neural network (NN) configured for extracting the first principal components. Instead of performing computationally complex operations for eigenvector estimation, the neural network can be trained to produce ordered first principal components. Possible applications include separation of different signal components for feature extraction in the field of EEG signal processing, adaptive segmentation, epileptic spike detection, and long-term EEG monitoring evaluation of patients in a coma.

Abstract: Introduction: Increase of liver function is one of the most common complications after kidney transplantation due to the use of immunosuppressive therapy and hyperlipidemia in addition to hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Method: Following the selection criteria (n = 59), the study is based on applied immunosuppressive therapy, baseline data of patients, further correlation between HCV and liver function deterioration. Patients were subjected to fasting laboratory examination to monitor serum electrolytes, uric acid and albumin levels. We looked at the effects of immunosuppressive therapy on the lipids (TG, TC, HDL, LDL) and liver enzymes (GOT, GPT, ALP, GGT). The analysis of the relationship between lipids and liver enzymes was also included in our study. Results: The data basics were not significantly different between the tacrolimus and the cyclosporine groups. In the laboratory results, Mg levels were significantly different between the two groups (p = 0.044). The impact of HCV on the liver function was significantly different on GGT (p = 0.008). We examed the lipids and liver function level between the tacrolimus and the patients receiving cyclosporine-based immunosuppression and the total cholesterol (p = 0.005) and GOT (p = 0.05) were significantly different between the two groups. Hyperlipidemia was associated with 26% of patients taking tacrolimus-based immunosuppression, and 89% of those receiving cyclosporine; the difference was significant (p = 0.002). Regarding the effect of hyperlipidemia on liver enzymes, ALP (p = 0.006) and GGT (p = 0.0001) were significantly higher. Conclusion: Increases in hepatic enzymes, ALT and GGT indicate the damage to hepatocytes. Beside the increase of liver function, which is the main risk factor in hepatitis on HCV soil, the applied immunosuppressive therapy and hyperlipidemia lead to degradation of allograft function and long-term graft loss. Background and objectives: In an aging society, the maintenance of the oral function of the elderly is of importance for the delay or prevention of frailty and long-term care. In the present study, we focused on the maximum tongue pressure (MTP) value and analyzed the relationship between MTP and age, occlusal status, or body mass index (BMI). Materials and Methods: This one-center observatory study was conducted using a cohort consisting of 205 community-dwelling outpatients over 65 years old. The MTP values of all subjects were measured using a commercially available tongue pressure measurement device and statistically analyzed. In addition, the correlation between MTP value and BMI was analyzed. Results: The MTP value decreased with age, especially in subjects classified as Eichner B and C. The difference in occlusal status did not show any statistically significant influence on MTP value. The correlation between BMI and MTP value was indicated in the tested groups other than an age of 65–74 and Eichner A groups. Conclusions: Although MTP value decreased with age, the difference in occlusal status did not have an impact on MTP value. The correlation between BMI and MTP value was not shown in the youngest group or a group with sufficient occlusal units. The results presented in the present study may imply that, even if MTP is low, younger age and/or better occlusal status compensate for the inferior MTP value in the cohort studied.

The relationship between acoustic emission and internal friction is investigated during cyclic deformation of copper single- and poly-crystals at intermediate amplitudes. Good agreement between these two phenomena has been demonstrated in all materials tested as long as the stress relaxation occurs uniformly within the sample whereas the difference between them becomes pronounced when strain/fracture localisation takes place. The similarity between acoustic emission and internal friction can be extended to materials deforming without appreciable plastic deformation, such as metal matrix composites where the main source of stress relaxation and strain accumulation is the particle breakage. The significance of the relation between internal friction and acoustic emission for understanding of fundamentals of AE is discussed.

During the construction of pre-stressed anchor cables for discharging flood and sand in the lower reservoir of Pushihe Pumped-storage Power Station, the tensioning of main and secondary cables are overall carried out according to design, in which the tensioning force is divided into seventh grades, the indicator values of ergometer and tensioning force of jack were obtained by experiment, and the difference between them were compared and analysis, the results of experiment provides the basis for the long-term and stable operation of pre-stressed pier in Pushihe project.

This article describes compassion as perceived within the relationship between nurses and older persons with a chronic disease. The aim of the study is to understand the benefit of compassion for nursing practice within the context of long-term care. The design of the study involves a qualitative analysis of in-depth interviews with nurses and patients in three different care-settings. Results show the nature of compassion in seven dimensions: attentiveness, listening, confronting, involvement, helping, presence and understanding. Analysis of the data also shows in what way opinions of participants relate to issues raised in a previous literature study, for example the difference between pity and compassion. The conclusion states that compassion is a valuable process which motivates patients as well as nurses to cooperate in achieving relevant outcomes of care. The discussion involves some methodological issues. For one thing, further confirmation of the dimensions found is recommended.

The owner of the company would want to enjoy the results of his business to the fullest. Therefore it is necessary to prepare a tax planning coordinated with long-term plans and short-term plans of the company. The conclusion is that the difference that occurs after applying the tax planning is a tax savings that can be obtained by the company. Where before the implementation of tax planning, income tax to be paid company is Rp. 425,671,743.25 and seteah doing tax planning to Rp. 341,456,597.75. So obtained tax savings of Rp. 84,215,145.50 the difference can be used by the company for something more useful and useful

The aim of this paper is to identify influence of selected factors on the repeat purchase of a package tour based on the responses of the selected customers in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The main factors are divided into three main groups as staff, environment and offer and each of these groups consists of other selected factors. Analyses of frequency responses and frequency distribution of data were used. Statistical hypotheses were formed, reflecting the relationship between the difference in responses from the customers’ and selected quality factors, that may affect the repeated purchase of the package tour. Most customers of repeat purchase of the package tour are affected by professional behaviour, sufficient space, cleanliness, tidiness of company premises and corresponding ratio of price / quality. This study is important not only for the marketers’ but also for all employees in services. Knowledge of the consumer buying behaviour leads to huge long term benefits to the businesses in various regions not only in Europe.

AbstractTropospheric features preceding sudden stratospheric warming events (SSWs) are identified using a large compendium of events obtained from a chemistry–climate model. In agreement with recent observational studies, it is found that approximately one-third of SSWs are preceded by extreme episodes of wave activity in the lower troposphere. The relationship becomes stronger in the lower stratosphere, where ~60% of SSWs are preceded by extreme wave activity at 100 hPa. Additional analysis characterizes events that do or do not appear to subsequently impact the troposphere, referred to as downward and non-downward propagating SSWs, respectively. On average, tropospheric wave activity is larger preceding downward-propagating SSWs compared to non-downward propagating events, and associated in particular with a doubly strengthened Siberian high. Of the SSWs that were preceded by extreme lower-tropospheric wave activity, ~2/3 propagated down to the troposphere, and hence the presence of extreme lower-tropospheric wave activity can only be used probabilistically to predict a slight increase or decrease at the onset, of the likelihood of tropospheric impacts to follow. However, a large number of downward and non-downward propagating SSWs must be considered (>35), before the difference becomes statistically significant. The precursors are also robust upon comparison with composites consisting of randomly selected tropospheric northern annular mode (NAM) events. The downward influence and precursors to split and displacement events are also examined. It is found that anomalous upward wave-1 fluxes precede both cases. Splits exhibit a near instantaneous, barotropic response in the stratosphere and troposphere, while displacements have a stronger long-term influence.

This article proposes that machine learning can break through the technical limitations of the linear growth test for the early physique of infants smaller than gestational age and can accurately calculate and predict the consequences of the disease. For testing the linear growth of the early physique of infants smaller than gestational age, the data collection and judgment are carried out according to the computer analysis method. Experimental results show that 47.3% of infants younger than gestational age may have suffocation. The experimental subjects designed in this study are small-for-gestational-age infants who were hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit from January 2020 to January 2021. According to the relationship between gestational age and birth weight, the survey subjects were divided into two groups: early group and late group. Male and female small-for-gestational-age infants accounted for 68% and 32%, respectively. Among them, the proportion of early gestational age was the most, with more boys than girls, and sick singleton was more than twins. In the early group, the incidence was 52.1% for neonatal asphyxia, 22.5% for feeding intolerance, 14.8% for intracranial hemorrhage, 6.3% for scleredema, 24.7% for neonatal hyperbilirubinemia, 24.6% for hypoglycemia, 1.1% for apnea, and 3.2% for respiratory distress syndrome. Infants develop differently at different stages of corrected gestational age. The incidence of low body weight (6%) after correction for 3 months was significantly reduced compared with correction for gestational age, and the difference was statistically significant ( P  < 0.05). The nutrient absorption of infants younger than gestational age can promote physical catch-up growth, physical development, and neurodevelopment. Therefore, the physical growth of infants younger than gestational age requires supplementation that focuses on nutrition.
