This paper presents a web-based remote access real-time laboratory using IOT (Internet of Things) control. The suggested architecture helps to improve safety for user to work in hazardous environment or the handling of hazardous chemical substances at industry. This system also creates new opportunities for distance learning among students and researches, particularly within in engineering disciplines where hands-on experience is regarded as essential to acquire knowledge and reinforce professional skills. The remote laboratory presented here offers an economical solution for multi-users to access real instruments in real industry via internet. This remote laboratory system uses real instruments such as Robotic arm, DC pump, Water flow sensor and Cameras and the developer user interface was designed using python ad tkinter module which allows users to access the lab and information about the conducted experiment

A method for setting up flexible and web based remote laboratory for mechatronics system experiment course is proposed. Unlike most current remote laboratories, in which the experiment procedures are always fixed, the new remote laboratory provides more flexibility to students in designing and testing programs and watching experiment results remotely via network. The proposed remote laboratory is implemented through windows remote desktop and web service technology, and also includes a course web site which is established for experiment selection and management. The whole new remote laboratory platform is easy to develop and maintain, and has been used during teaching practice of mechatronics system experiment course in University of Science and Technology Beijing, covering experiments of PLC-based stepper motor control and DAQ card based condition monitoring.

This paper presents an internet-based remote laboratory for process control on double holding water tanks using supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) technology. A three layer distributed system supporting web application was proposed. Programmable logic controller, measurement instruments, display instruments and configuration software were used as the main hardware and software to develop the laboratory system. Remote operations by the engineering students show that the laboratory system is useful in helping the students understand the control theory through remote experiments.
