In this study, the trip making characteristics in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Nigeria are descriptively analysed. The city was divided into nine zones out of which 1,597 households were interviewed out of a total population of 15,945 households Trips generated and attracted to each zone of the city of Ado-Ekiti for business and non-business purposes were determined. The relationship between the number of trips generated and land use factors were also determined. The effects of income on car ownership and the effects of both on trip making pattern were established while trips were accrued to various modes of transport in the city. The study showed that land-use is the main factor responsible for trips production and attraction. It was established that commercial zones attracted the highest number of trips generated per week for both business and non-business trips while high and medium residential zones produced the highest number of business and non-business trips. In contrast, public zone produced the lowest number of business and non-business trips. Finally, the study shows that income is directly proportional to car ownership and that both income and car ownership have considerable effects on trip generation.

This paper investigated the travel patterns of 1.7 million shared E-scooter trips from April 2018 to February 2019 in Austin, TX. There were more than 6000 active E-scooters in operation each month, generating over 150,000 trips and covered approximately 117,000 miles. During this period, the average travel distance and operation time of E-scooter trips were 0.77 miles and 7.55 min, respectively. We further identified two E-scooter usage hotspots in the city (Downtown Austin and the University of Texas campus). The spatial analysis showed that more trips originated from Downtown Austin than were completed, while the opposite was true for the UT campus. We also investigated the relationship between the number of E-scooter trips and the surrounding environments. The results show that areas with higher population density and more residents with higher education were correlated with more E-scooter trips. A shorter distance to the city center, the presence of transit stations, better street connectivity, and more compact land use were also associated with increased E scooter usage in Austin, TX. Surprisingly, the proportion of young residents within a neighborhood was negatively correlated with E-scooter usage.

The present study aims to grasp the car ownership characteristics of households in the sub-urban area in Makassar City, Indonesia. The study considers some exogenous characteristics of the households, such house types, family size, income, motorcycle ownership, trip number, and worker number. To construct the relationship between those characteristics and the car ownership, we applied the multinomial logit model approach. This study surveyed seven residential areas in the sub-urban area of the city. The survey conducted an interviewing method using a questionnaire sheet. The survey respondents as representative of the households, which selected randomly from the residential areas. The results show that the goodness of fit of the car ownership model is acceptable enough. Further, all of the exogenous variables significantly influence the households in car ownership. We expected that the results provide a basis for further studies such time valuation of car riders, mode choice model of the households, etc.

Abstract. The factors that contribute to land use change in the municipality of Gaúcha do Norte - MT, are entirely linked to the economic process and agricultural production. This process has left Brazil in a state of alert due to the process of deforestation and loss of tropical forests. From 2000 to 2010, the forest areas converted into agriculture accounted for 13.3%, the main factor that directly potentiated with deforestation was the cultivation of soybeans, which in turn was occupying places previously occupied by livestock and pushing the livestock forest inside. The phenomena of land use change and land cover start from multidimensional issues in the environmental and economic context. The use of environmental modeling through cellular automata to analyze land use change phenomena and reproduce the trajectory through future land use simulations and evolution establishes an integration associated by mathematical models and flow integration systems. That predict the trajectory of land use change, thus generating a dynamic model capable of predicting future land use changes by replicating possible patterns of landscape evolution and enabling assessments of future ecological implications for the environment.

The area in Surabaya and Mojokerto is an industrial area that is increasing quite rapidly. Based on City Mojokerto in Figures Year 2016. From an industrial estate is a change of land use from agriculture or ponds into settlements and / or industries. The occurrence of congestion along this road because of the capacity that is not sufficient to accommodate the number of vehicles passing. The purpose of this research is to know the model of land use interaction, knowing the network performance and know the travel time to be passed. And analyze what components affect the calculation of travel time. Necessary data. The existing land layout along the road and the average traffic calculation data on the road in the study area. To know the travel time must be known in advance the capacity of the road that can be accommodated along the road. After the capacity is known the service performance becomes the main factor in determining road network performance. This research uses regression analysis for land use modeling.

AbstractThe location and development of cities has been influenced basically by various environmental factors. However, the relationship is bilateral, because not only the environment can affect the city, but the city can affect the environment in different ways, depending on recovery. This is especially true in the case of large cities such as Budapest where the different geological, geomorphological, hydrological, soil and bio-geographical conditions can be changed in very small areas, which implies that land use can be also modified as well. The aim of our study was to determine the chemical water quality of three small streams in Budapest which have same water flow and compare the field and the laboratory test results. Between many natural characteristics of these streams similarity is evident, however, several differences were found between the watersheds in terms of human land use. Statistical data analysis was performed as well, which was the aim to explore the relationship between the parameters. Overall, according to our study it can be concluded, the small streams have similar water chemical properties, but some parameters need special attention in the future, because the investigated small streams can be categorized into polluted and sometimes heavily polluted category.

This study aimed to modify the traditional method of trip-generation by investigating the relation between trip generation and land use. Based on the interaction between urban land-use sorts and trip generation, the trip generation weights among different urban land-use sorts are determined by multiple regression analysis. Given full consideration of the land-use mixing degree, the entropy of traffic-zone-land-use mixing was calculated. An improved trip-generation model based on the entropy of land-use mixing was proposed by analyzing the relationship between trip-generation weight and land-use mixing degree. This method was tested through applying it to Xi’an urban trip generation forecasting. The result of the test shows that this method effectively illustrates the correlation between trip-generation demand and land-use mix sort, and has a better application prospect due to simple calculation, high reliability and feasibility.
