AbstractThe objective of this research was to improve the eleventh graders’ recount text writing skill. To attain the objective a two-cycled classroom action research was conducted in SMA PSKD 7 Depok. The 28 students of the eleventh graders who participated in this research were taught recount text through mind mapping technique. The quantitative data, collected using tests, were analyzed by using statistical analysis technique. The qualitative data, collected using observation sheets and interview guide, were analyzed by using descriptive analysis technique. The results indicated that the mind mapping technique improved the eleventh graders’ recount text writing skill, as shown by the increase of the mean scores of the tests conducted, i.e. 52,61 (in the pretest) to 70.61 ( post-test of cycle 1) to 80.29 (post-test of cycle 2). Based on the findings, it could be concluded that through implementation of mind mapping technique, students’ recount text writing skill could improve. ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas untuk mengimplementasikan modul IPA berbasis etnosains masyarakat Bengkulu melalui Discovery Learning untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan IPA FKIP Universitas Bengkulu yang mengambil mata kuliah IPA 1. Kegiatan penelitian ini  dilakukan dua siklus dengan dua kali pertemuan. Setiap siklus terdiri dari empat langkah penelitian yaitu perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Perangkat pembelajaran terdiri dari (1) RPP model Discovery Learning; (2) Modul IPA berbasis etnosains Masyarakat Bengkulu materi Pengukuran; (3) LKPD; (4) instrumen penilaian Aktivitas dan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh adalah adanya peningkatan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis  Mahasiswa melalui pre test dan post test.  Pada siklus I,  rata-rata pretes adalah sebesar 71,92 dengan standar deviasi sebesar 6,01 dan postes sebesar 75,77 dengan standar deviasi sebesar 4,75. Pada siklus II, rata-rata pretes adalah sebesar 80,19 dengan standar deviasi sebesar 4,75 dan rata-rata postes sebesar 83,85 dengan standar deviasi sebesar 4,83. Dari hasil tersebut dapat dibandingkan bahwa peningkatan siklus II  lebih besar dibandingkan dengan siklus I. Peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada siklus I sebesar 58,69 dan siklus II sebesar 63,45. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan Modul IPA Berbasis Etnosains Masyarakat Bengkulu melalui Discovery Learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mahasiswa. Kata kunci: Classroom Action Research, Modul, Etnosains, Discovery Learning, Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis. ABSTRACT A Classroom Action Research has been carried out to implement a science module based on the ethnoscience of the Bengkulu people through discovery learning to improve the critical thinking skills of students of the Program Studi Pendidikan IPA FKIP Universitas Bengkulu who take the IPA 1 course. This research activity was carried out in two cycles with two meetings. Each cycle consists of four research steps, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The learning tools consist of (1) RPP Discovery Learning model; (2) Science module based on Bengkulu Community ethnoscience measurement material; (3) LKPD; (4) assessment instruments for Critical Thinking Skills and Activities. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis. The results obtained were an increase in students' critical thinking skills through the pretest and posttest. In the first cycle, the average pretest was 71.92 with a standard deviation of 6.01 and post-test was 75.77 with a standard deviation of 4.75. In cycle II, the average pretest was 80.19 with a standard deviation of 4.75 and the average post-test was 83.85 with a standard deviation of 4.83. From these results it can be compared that the increase in cycle II is greater than that of cycle I. The increase in students' critical thinking skills in cycle I is 58.69 and cycle II is 63.45. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the Bengkulu Community Ethnoscience-Based Science Module through discovery learning can improve students' critical thinking skills. Keywords: Classroom Action Research, Module, Ethnoscience, Discovery Learning, Critical Thinking Skills.

This study is a classroom action research. The general objective of this study is improving students’ writing skill through outdoor activity. While the specific objective of this research are (1) whether or not outdoor activity can increase the students’ writing content of descriptive text of the second year of Mts Sudirman Kopeng  Getasan. (2) it describe whether the outdoor activity can improve  the students’ writing skill in developing paragraph. This classroom action research was conducted at MTs Sudirman Getasan. The procedure of the research consisted of planning, action, observing, and reflection. The observation during the process of English teaching and learning was helped by the collaborator. In this research,  the writer acted as a practitioner. The test was in the form of pre-test and post –test conducted in cycle 1, cycle 2, and cycle 3. The research result were: (1)  using outdoor activity as a method can improve students’ writing skill, its proved with the student’s improvement score. The mean score of the pre-test of the students was 57 (very poor) and the mean score of the post- test 70 (good). The mean of the post-Test is higher than the mean of the pre-Test ( 64.53>56.56), the mean of the post-test in cycle 2  is higher than mean of cycle 1 (70.59>64.53) and the mean of the post –Test cycle 3 is higher than cycle 2 (74.56>70.59). the proven result of the implementation was 75%. (2) The effectiveness of using outdoor activity in improving students’ writing skill is proved from the t-test and t-table in cycle 1 (9.67>2.042) which the score of t-test was higher than the score of t-table and the result of t-test and t-table in cycle 3 (15.11>2.042) also showed that the score of t-table.

This research is motivated by the difficulty of children aged 3-4 years in recognizing five vowels that is often children fnd it difficult to mention and distinguish vowels such as the letter “e”, “u” and “o”. While the letters that are always emembered by children are the letters “i” and the letter “a”. This study aims to describe the learning process by using letter ball media in order to improve the ability to recognize five vowels in children aged 3-4 years and to find out the increased ability to recognize five vowel letters the use of lette ball media in children aged 3-4 years. The method used in this research is classroom action research. This research consisted of pre cycle, cycle I, cyle II, cyle III. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, interviews, non-test assessment, and documentation. The analysis technique in this study uses quantitative descriptive analysis, the results of this study are the se of letter ball media developed very well in cycle III by using letter ball media plus media decorating plastic cups.

The purpose of this research is to find does the animation movies can improve students’ skill and ability in writing narrative text at SMP Swasta TD Pardede Foundation at VII grade in academic year2018/2019. In this research, the researchers used classroom action research and was conducted in two cycles. Each cycles consist of four steps, there are: planning, action, observing and reflecting. This research used quantitative and qualitative research to collect the data, researchers conduct tests. The tests are pre-test and post-test.The result showed that the teaching students’ skill in writing using video can improve students’ skill in writing narrative text. An increase in mean scores indicates that there is an increase in students’ skill.  The student’s pre-test score was 63.69; it increased to 72.50 in the first post-test up to 78.02 in the second post-test. From the result of the study, it can be concluded that teaching writing skill using animation videos can improve students’ writing skill. Keyword: narrative, animation movie

Many problems faced by students in participating in the classroom and writing a text. This study discussed the use of write-pair-square strategy to improve the students’ active participation in writing descriptive text. The objectives of the study are to find out the implementation of write-pair-square in teaching descriptive text and to investigate the improvement of students’ participation and writing achievement after being taught by using write-pair-square strategy. The research focused on teaching of descriptive text by using write-pair-square as the strategy. The subjects are SMA Kesatrian 2 Semarang students. This study used Classroom Action Research that was carried out through a pre-test, first and second cycle activities. The result showed that the students’ progress of participation improved. The average score of pre-test was 11.27, post-test 1 was 20.13, and post-test 2 was 30.24. It also showed that students’ mastering descriptive improved. The average achievement of students’ pretest was63.27, First cycle test was70.23and post test was 77.66. According to this study, I conclude that teaching descriptive text by using write-pair-square as the strategy is helpful for students. It is recommended for English teachers to use Write-pair-square as the strategy for students’ improvement of their writing skill. This study aims to describe the implementation of Simultaneous RoundTable model of cooperative model to improve students' social skills in Tunjungsekar 5 Elementary School Malang. This type of research is a Classroom Action Research consist of 2 cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research are 25 students in II B class of Tunjungsekar 5 Elementary School Malang year 2015/2016. Data on students' social skills are collected through observation sheets and interviews. The collected data then analyzed by using qualitative descriptive analysis technique. In the first cycle, the percentage of social skills of students by 55% and experienced a significant increase in cycle II of 87%. Based on the results of this study, students 'social skills are enhanced through the application of Simultaneous RoundTable model of cooperation which includes sub aspect (1) the ability to communicate with other students, (2) make friendship with peers, (3) listen to friends' opinions, (4) giving and receiving criticism from others, and (5) giving or receiving feedback. The research included Classroom Action Research (CAR) with the aim of knowing the improvement of critical thinking skills through the inquiry learning model. Classroom Action Research was carried out at the eleventh MIA 5 grade of sixteen state senior high school of Makassar. The research consisted of two cycles. The first cycle consists of two actions and the second cycle also consists of two actions. The procedure carried out in each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. For getting the data used the observation sheet and the results of test scores in each cycle. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis and qualitative analysis. The results of the study showed that it increased through the use of the inquiry learning model. The students critical thinking skills in the first cycle increased even though the increase was not too significant than before the implementation of the inquiry learning model. In cycle one , the students were divided into 5 groups and learning using the free inquiry model then proceed to cycle two critical thinking skills increased from cycle one. In cycle two the number of groups was enlarged into 8 groups and in the learning process students were guided to find so Critical thinking of trained students and can be improved.Keywords: Critical Thinking, Inquiry Learning, StudentsPenelitian ini termasuk Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis melalui model pembelajaran inquiry. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 16 Makassar kelas XI MIA 5. Penelitian ini terdiri dari dua siklus. Siklus pertama terdiri dari dua tindakan dan siklus kedua juga terdiri dari dua tindakan. Prosedur yang dilaksanakan pada setiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Untuk mendapatkan data digunakan lembar observasi dan hasil nilai tes pada setiap siklus. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan analisis kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meningkat melalui penggunaan model pembelajaran inquiry. Keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada siklus I meningkat meskipun peningkatannya tidak terlalu signifikan dari sebelum diterapkannya model pembelajaran inquiry. Pada Siklus I peserta didik peserta didik dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok dan pembelajaran menggunakan model inquiry bebas kemudian dilanjutkan ke siklus II keterampilan berpikir kritis meningkat dari siklus I. Pada siklus II jumlah kelompok diperbesar menjadi 8 kelompok dan pada proses pembelajaran peserta didik dibimbing untuk menemukan sehingga keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik terlatih dan dapat meningkat.Kata kunci: Berpikir Kritis, Pembelajaran Inkuiry, Peserta Didik

This study focused to improve Students’ Vocabulary Achievement by Applying Anagram PlusFlashcards. This study was conducted by using classroom action research. The subject of thisstudy was students in class VII-7 of SMP Negeri 7 Pematangsiantar. There were 32 studentstaken as the subject. The instrument for collecting data were the test for vocabulary and diarynotes, questionnaire sheets, observation sheet, and interview for process of teaching andlearning vocabulary. The data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The result of the researchshowed that the mean of students’ score in pre-test was 56.41, the mean of students’ score inpost-test I was 69.22. The mean of students’ score in post-test II was 76.72. There wereimprovement of students’ achievement from 56.41-76.72 about 20.31 point and that score(76.72) was excelled the indicator (75). Based on diary notes, questionnaire sheets,observation sheet, and interview, it found that teaching and learning process ran well.Students were active, cooperative, enthusiastic and interested in learning vocabulary.There were 16 students (50%) agreed that the students active in learning process, 20students (62.5%) were interested, 20 students (62.5%) were enthusiastic and 19 students(59.37%) were agreed that strategy of learning was effective. It can be concluded that theapplication of anagram plus flashcards had successfully improved the students’ vocabularyachievement at the SMP Negeri 7 Pematangsiantar.

<p>The objectives of this thesis are to identify whether or not mind mapping technique can improve students’ writing skill and to identify the class climate when mind mapping is used in teaching learning process. The action research was conducted from August to September 2012 and was carried out in two cycles to 34 students of a Junior High School in Jaten, Karanganyar. The research findings show that mind mapping technique could improve the students’ writing skill. It can be seen from the score of pre-test, first post-test  and second post-test, that is 52.32, 67.97, and 76.50. Class climate also improved when mind mapping was used in teaching learning process. Therefore, mind mapping can be used as alternative technique to improve the students’ writing skill.</p>

The background of this research is based on the fact that the learning outcomes of the written recount text are still not as expected. Therefore there needs to be an effort from the lecturer to improve the learning outcomes.  This research generally aims to improve students' recount text writing skills. Specifically, this research aims for 1) Obtaining information about whether or not the flow sentence technique can improve recount text writing skills, 2) Obtain information about the ability of sentence techniques flow increases student participation in learning to write recount texts. Procedure This Classroom Action Research includes stages: (1) action planning (2) implementation actions, (3) observation and interpretation, and (4) analysis and reflection. This research was designed in two cycles using flow sentence techniques. The research instrument uses test and observation techniques. Data analysis techniques use Descriptive analysis, i.e. student learning outcomes were analyzed by describing inter-test scores cycle with performance indicators. Observation results were analyzed descriptively based on results observation and reflection.  The results of this Classroom Action Research are: initial conditions 15 students or 46% are incomplete, 17 students or 54% complete. In cycle I 8 students or 25% are incomplete, 24 students or 75% complete. In Cycle II 4 students or 12.5% ​​did not complete, 28 students or 87.5% complete. The results of the study concluded that the use of the technique flowing sentences can improve students' recount text writing skills third-semester academic year 2019/2020 of ABA Balikpapan. Flowing sentence techniques can also increase student participation in learning to write recount texts. A classical completeness level of 87.5% in the second cycle shows that the learning improvement effort has been successful. The sentence technique is effective used to improve recount text writing skills.
