The purpose of the article is to identify the features of the genre ofUkrainian choral miniature and to identify the basic principles of theirimplementation in the choral works by Lesya Dychko. The purpose of thework determines the relevant tasks, which are in identifying the genrestyle landmarks of the musical language of L. Dichko, available in selectedchoral miniatures for poetic texts and, based on their analysis, outline anumber of immanent features inherent in the creativity of the composer. The methods of the research is formed by the using of empiricalapproaches of scientific investigation, namely observations, analyzes and generalizations, which allow the practical implementation of this studyingthemetic destination. The textological and semantic analytical approachesof the poetic text are also used in the work. The scientific novelty of thearticle is determined by the factor of primacy of the complex analysis ofselected choral miniatures from the standpoint of revealing immanentgenre-stylistic traits of L. Dychko’s creativity. Conclusions. The analysisof choral miniatures „Winter”, „Na chovni”, „Spring” on poetic textsallows to classify them as extremely bright, artistically expressiveexamples of modern interpretation of the genre with a relief display ofnationally characteristic stylistic features, which can be considered as anexample of the synthesis of neo-folklore neo-romantic orientation ofcreativity of L. Dychko. The choir miniature of Lesya Dychko is nowfirmly in the repertoire of numerous choirs of Ukraine. The composerforms a comprehensive outlook model of being in interaction with creativethinking. Her vision of the artistic text takes place at the same time in thedimension of literature, music and painting due to the constantinvolvement of elements of the visual arts vocabulary in her works, orientation to „painting”, and work with poetic images.

The article deals with the features of verbalization of the plant world in Oleksii Dovhiy’s poetic language. The study found that the natural world for the primitives reflected the entire Universe – its structure, essence, links, which could not be explained or understood by them. That is why all the phenomena and realities of the environment were anthropomorphized. The components of the plant world made up the largest part of conceptual concepts in the worldview of Ukrainians. The language appeared a certain medium for such representations, reflected by the figurative symbolic semantics of the words. Poetry became a special form for representation of these meanings, whereas just in the poetic text the deep symbolism of numerous anthropomorphized images of nature could be shown fully and vividly. In Oleksii Dovhiy’s poetic texts realities of the flora are presented quite clearly and multifaceted because a poet is aware of their important role in the Ukrainian cultural tradition. The largest part of these units are presented by trees and their parts. These are the most commonly used lexemes and their derivatives: birch, beech, elm, willow, cherry, pear, oak, guilder rose, maple, poplar, apple tree, etc. Usage of the lexemes with diminutive semantics allows a poet to convey the inner state of the lyrical hero and establish a deeper connection with the reader. Plant world is involved in the creation of feminine and masculine images in the text and in the process of sacralization of a particular locus.

The dependence of the semantic content of poetic texts on their metrorhythmic characteristics and the structure of stanzas requires describing the factures - the combination of these characteristics of poetic texts. The purpose of this article is to formulate the definition of facture as a structural model of a poetic text, which uniquely determines the metrorhythmic and strophic pattern of a poetic text, and also to develop the algorithms for automatic determination of facture. To achieve this goal, an algorithm for automatic determination of meter and number of feet, as well as the algorithm for automatic determination of the structure of stanzas of poems, has been developed. A distinctive feature of the algorithm for automatic determination of meter and number of feet of poems is to take into account the real problems of accentuation, which are associated with the presence of homographs, proclitics, etc., moreover, in the case of detection of a lexeme in a line that cannot be unambiguously accentuated using the automatic accentuation methods, it is used to establish the possible accentuation “by analogy” based on the accentuation of unambiguously accentuated lines. The algorithm for automatic determination of the structure of stanzas is based on the identification of the rhyming lines on the basis of their consonance. The testing of the algorithm was carried out on the corpus of poems by A.S. Pushkin, for which the "Metric Reference Book"was manually created in the 1930s with a description of metrorhythmics and stanzas. The developed algorithm showed the almost complete compliance of the results of the automatic determination of the factures with the metrorhythmic and strophic characteristics given in the reference book. Thus, the algorithm for automatic facture detemination which is developed and programmatically implemented by the authors of the paper, can be a reliable tool for the complex analysis of metrorhythmic and strophic characteristics of Russian poetic texts

Within the field of poetic text linguistics, the theories of both text linguistics and prosodic linguistics have failed to reveal the nature of the creation of the poetic text and the way it is received by people. This necessitates adopting a new theoretical framework that combines the two approaches by focusing on nine norms: domain rules, length and separation rules, paragraph and sentence rules, phrases and words rules, and syllable and sound rules. These rules should be used by anyone who compares between different poetic texts on the one hand, and between poetic and non-poetic texts on the other.

This article is aimed at presenting a methodology for the conceptual analysis of poetic texts based on their lexical structure using the theory of communicative stylistics. The lexical structure of the literary text is considered to be a means of aсquainting the reader with the values manifested therein. The study of values intertwined within written works is particularly significant for the development of an axiological approach to teaching the Russian language. This article proposes a method for a sequential analysis of the lexical structure of a poetic text, which can be used at Russian language lessons.

Abstract This article applies the theory of archaeological semiotics to the study of the “Olmec” style. A semiotic approach differs from an iconographic study because it provides the possibility for complex analysis of all significant traits of material archeological objects without distinction between stylistic and iconographic traits. In this context, the semiotic analysis of the Olmec style as a sign system shows that its particular signs, which can be defined as stylistic traits because of the lack of specific iconographic meanings, simultaneously participated in the creation and transformation of cultural meanings. This phenomenon reflected the “macrosignified” of Formative Mesoamerican cultures, associated with a structure that linked together various meanings throughout the culture.

Cooperation between libraries is time-consuming, but is both ‘worthwhile and essential. Scottish research libraries commenced active cooperation in 1977: the Scottish Confederation of University and Research Libraries now has 15 active members. More recently, libraries in Scotland have been encouraged to work together following the creation of the Scottish Library and Information Council. The National Library has a key role to play, but in partnership with other libraries rather than invariably taking the lead. Cooperation between Scottish art libraries can be traced back to the 1950s and to the development, under the auspices of the National Library, of a union catalogue of art books in Edinburgh. This project is being extended and it will eventually become a national database. The group of libraries responsible for the project has taken on a wider role and an expanded membership as the Scottish Visual Arts Group, one of several subject groups under the umbrella of the Scottish Confederation of University & Research Libraries. The Group will work closely with the Scottish Library and Information Council, and with ARLIS/UK & Ireland in the wider framework of the United Kingdom. (This article is the revised text of a paper presented to the ARLIS/UK & Ireland 25th Anniversary Conference in London, 7th-10th April 1994).

The basic principles and current state of topographic mapping of the territory of Ukraine are considered. Prior to the proclamation of Ukraine's independence, its territory was covered by topographic maps in the scale of 1:10 000 to 1: 1 000 000, created by the Main Department of Geodesy and Cartography under the USSR Council of Ministers and the Military Topographic Service of the USSR Armed Forces. The interaction of these departments in topographic mapping is highlighted. The topographic study of Ukrainian territory as of 1991 is analyzed in detail. Today the content of most topographic maps of scales from 1:10 000 to 1: 200 000 is characterized by "aging" of information and does not correspond to the current state of the area. The unsatisfactory state of topographic study of the territory led to the unclaimed topographic maps with much outdated information for consumers, and for the military it very difficult to perform combat tasks. The needs of current topographic information users require a significant improvement in topographic maps content. Since the mid-1990s, the creation of national geospatial data infrastructures has become crucial for providing spatial information to the state and society. The basic principles and general requirements for the creation and updating of state topographic maps are now defined by the "Procedure for national topographic and thematic mapping" (2013). The adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On the National Infrastructure of Geospatial Data", giving a powerful impetus to topographic mapping, poses a responsible task of organizational and regulatory and technical support of this process. The issue of obtaining topographic maps from the topographic database requires scientific and technical elaboration, development of appropriate normative and technical documents (guides, principles, instructions, symbols, etc.).
