The relevance of the study is confirmed by the fact that extremism is one of the most dangerous phenomena in the security of the world community, which pose a threat to the whole society both with committed crimes and the destruction of generally recognized rules of morality, law and human values. We point out that in modern conditions the dissemination of extremist ideas is actively promoted by information and communication technologies, especially the Internet. It is emphasized that extremists have the opportunity not only to demonstrate their materials to a multimillion audience, but also to enter into discussions and uphold their ideas and views. The Internet is very promising for extremists. This study considers the benefits that the Internet provides in disseminating extremist information. We believe that the problem of the spread of extremist information on the Internet is especially perceptible to young people. Due to personal and psychological characteristics, this social group is very vulnerable, as they are easily imposed on the ideas and views of extremists. In the context of the active spread of extremism on the Internet, the regulatory framework for combating these crimes is extensively presented. We indicate some problems with the practical implementation of countering extremism on the Internet.

The article adduces a research of psychological characteristics of information security of adolescents with deviant and normative behavior. 46 people from two Moscow schools were examined with a complex of four methods, one of which was the “Information Security Questionnaire" - is used for the first time. In addition, two experimental subgroups viewed videos about Internet security rules and then it was assessed how much it had influenced the responses of adolescents to spam mailing. A conclusion based on the obtained results was made, that adolescents with deviant behavior are less likely (in comparison with adolescents with normative behavior) to be exposed to negative information because of their personal characteristics and distrust of others. However, for the same reason, they are less susceptible to persuasive educational impact, including those related to information security on the Internet. Thus, it is teenagers with normative behavior who are the ones who need information security education, and the effectiveness of such education should be tested with various psychological methods.

Nowadays, the Internet has a serious impact on the human psyche, and this problem is only gaining momentum. During the COVID-19 pandemic, as part of a forced necessity, the whole world moved to the global information space. There are both pros and cons to such absolute digitalization. We, as psychologists, will be interested in the other side of the coin. On the basis of this, we conducted an empirical study dedicated to the study of the psychological characteristics of the personality of students with varying degrees of severity of Internet addiction. This article will present the results of a study involving 250 students from various universities in Russia. In the course of empirical research, we used the following methods: an author’s questionnaire to determine the amount and quality of time spent by respondents on the Internet; Diagnostics of the tendency to 13 types of addictions (G.V. Lozovaya); Test “Self-assessment of mental states” (G.Yu. Eysenck); Methodology “Diagnostics of typologies of psychological defense” (R. Plutchikas adapted by L.I. Wasserman, O.F. Eryshev, E.B. Klubova, etc.); Methodology for «Determining stress resistance and social adaptation» of Holmes and Rage; Kimberly Young «Internet Addiction Test». The results obtained in the course of the research can be used by practicing psychologists, psychotherapists, clinical psychologists when working with addicts and co-addicts. The presented results can be applied in the practice of the educational process as prevention of Internet addiction.

Аnnotation: The psychological essence of the process of education is the under- standing and consideration of the psychological mechanisms of the formation of personality in the interaction of the teacher of the pupil, the study of the effect of educational influences depending on the various individual psychological characteristics of the child. For example, the function of emotional communication, which consists in empathy, emotional support, has changed in many families due to the fact that the Internet and modern gadgets such as tablets, smartphones, etc. have become the most important competitor. This also applies to educational functions. Parents do not have significant educational skills, and their repertoire includes only two methods of education - punishment and encouragement. Moreover, the promotion acts as a "purchase of authority." Keywords: process, upbringing, child, personality, socialization, childhood, behav- ior, mechanism, management, individual.

The article determines that belonging to one type or another of a person’s communicative behavior in the Internet space is determined by a specific ratio of psychological factors namely: a combination of cognitive, motivational, affective components of a person’s communicative behavior in the Internet space and the level of constructive-destructive behavior. The author proposes a typology of communicative behavior of a person depending on the type of cognitive distortion: destructive types of communicative behavior of a person in the Internet are based on cognitive distortions such as depreciation of the positive, mental filter, overgeneralization, dichotomous thinking, and catastrophization. The psychological characteristics of users conducting provocative activities on the network are investigated; prone to provocative online activities; ascribing to themselves the conduct of provocative activities in the network; not leading provocative online activities.
