The study evaluated craft development centres’ programmes and manpower development in Rivers State, Nigeria. The research sample consisted of 80 students and 25 instructors and was randomly sampled. Two research questions and two hypotheses were posed, formulated and tested respectively. A twenty items structured questionnaire was developed for the study. T-test, standard derivation and mean were used to analyze the data collected. Based on the findings, some recommendations were made towards the enhancement of craft development centres in Rivers State, Nigeria. The study was a case study design aimed at determining the causes and levels of truancy among secondary school students, using Rivers State, Nigeria. The research sample consisted of 105 teachers and was purposefully sampled. Four research questions and one hypothesis were posed, formulated and tested respectively. A structured questionnaire was developed, validated and administered to the respondents selected for the study. T-test, standard deviation and mean were used to analyze the data collected. The results indicated that there is a significant difference between family background and student factor. The implication of this is that the student’s family background contributes greatly to the student’s level of truancy. Hence, the null hypothesis was rejected. Based on the findings, some recommendations were made towards the reducing the level of truancy among secondary school students. Students use social media for social activities more than learning but studies on the proficiency for learning has been less researched. This study therefore assessed the undergraduate students’ proficiency’ level of utilizing social media for learning in Nigeria. The study employed the quantitative research method. Four hundred and fifty (450) respondents were randomly sampled across universities in Nigeria on which a structured questionnaire was administered on the students. The research questions were answered using mean, while t-test statistic was used to test the two hypotheses. Results of the research revealed that the proficiency level of undergraduates on the utilization of social media for learning was high and there was no significant difference between male and female undergraduates' utilization and undergraduates' proficiency towards the utilization of social media for learning. The study concluded that undergraduate students have good proficiency level on the utilization of social media for learning. Abstrak Siswa-siswa sekarang banyak menggunakan media sosial sekadar untuk aktivitas sosial ketimbang belajar, hanya saja kajian untuk hal ini relatif minim. Penelitian ini mengkaji tingkat kemahiran mahasiswa S1 dalam penggunaan media sosial untuk pembelajaran di Nigeria. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dan melibatkan 450 responden yang dipilih secara acak dari seluruh universitas di Nigeria menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur untuk para siswa. Pertanyaan penelitian ini dijawab menggunakan rata-rata dan analisis statistik t-test digunakan untuk menguji hipotesisnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa level kemahiran/penguasaan mahasiswa dalam menggunakan media sosial untuk pembelajaran tinggi dan tidak ada perbedaan antara mahasiswa laki-laki dan perempuan. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa S1 memiliki tingkat kemahiran yang bagus dalam menggunakan media sosial untuk pembelajaran.

This study examined the gender disparity towards students’ enrollment in technical education in Rivers State. A sample of 403 students (362 Male and 41 Female) was selected through simple random sampling technique from Rivers State University (RIVSU) and Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUOE), Port Harcourt from the Department of Technical Education. Three research questions were posed to guide the study and two Null hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significant. Structured questionnaire was used to collect data. A reliability coefficient of 0.83 was established through Cronbach Alpha using test-retest method. Data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for research questions and hypotheses were tested using the independent sample t-test. The study revealed amongst others that poverty, preference of male child, cultural and religious beliefs were causes of female folks low enrollment into technical education programmes in Rivers State. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended amongst others that; allowances, scholarships, employment opportunities should be given to female students in order to enhance their enrolments into technical education programmmes in Rivers State.

This article aims at describing the obseroance of wasiat wajibah (compulsory bequeathment) in the Islamic court of Banten, analyzing the provision of the substitute heir and adopted children in the Compilation of  Islamic Law (KHI). In addition, the ideal laws to manage the innheritance rules in Indonesia. This article is library research by using doctrinal approach and using case study and survey methods. The data was, then, analyzed by using analytical descriptive and analytical correlative methods. The result showed that the observance of wasiat wajibah in the Islamic court of  Banten employed by judges is by using the Mawali Hazairin’s Doctrine. The criteria of the adoption of substitute heir and adopted children in the KHI is the attempts of Ulama and many judgees junst in giving legal justice and certainty to the society.   Key Words: Islamic Inheritance Law, Compilation of Islamic Law, Islamic court of  Banten

The present study is focusing on the professional stress on organisation among the Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) of Indian Military Intelligence. 384 samples of Military Intelligence personnel will be taken for this study. Sources of data is Primary data include a structured questionnaire. Data was collected through structured questionnaire and measure through Likert’s scale, using KMO measure of sampling adequacy, Cronbach’s alpha for checking internal consistency, Bartlett sphericity test for testing the null hypothesis and various factor analysis including Eigenvalues, Extract square Sum loading, variance percent and Accumulation percent values relative comparison and Correlation matrix will be used as tools to arrive at desired results and statistical interpretations. The hypotheses put for test and the resultant values at 0.01 and 0.05 (for different factors) clearly indicated that there is an existence of association between different level of cadres and professional stress among personnel of Indian Military Intelligence. The authority who can formulate the rules and regulations and binding them on the lower cadres and professions to accept and adopt.

The paper investigated the perceived influence of students’ demographic variables on their access to financial aids in public Universities in Rivers State, Nigeria. Six questions were formulated to guide the study and five hypotheses tested at 0.05 level of significance. The design adopted for the study was an analytical survey. The population of the study included 78, 216 students (34,997 male and 43,219 female) in the three public Universities in Rivers State. The sample of the study covered 791 students (Male= 395 and Female= 396) selected through the random sampling technique while Taro Yamane method of sample size determination was used for determining the sample size. The instruments used for collecting responses from students were questionnaire and a ten items interview schedule. The research questions were answered using frequency, percentage and cumulative percentage. Findings of the study revealed that students’ demographic variables have an influence on their access to financial aids in public Universities in Rivers State, Nigeria. The implication of this is that the government’s expenditure on education will continue to increase in the absence of these alternative financial aids in the public Universities in Rivers State, Nigeria.

This study was carried out to determine the measures for promoting democracy in a depressed economy through business education for national security in Enugu State. Two research questions and two null hypotheses were used for the study. The study adopted a survey research design. The population for the study was 41 business educators from four government owned tertiary institutions in Enugu State. There was no sampling since the population was manageable. The instrument for data collection was a structured questionnaire developed by the researchers and validated by the experts. The reliability of the instrument was determined using Cronbach Alpha, which yielded an overall index 0.72. Mean and standard deviation were used in answering research questions while hypotheses were tested using t-test. It was found that governmental measures items promoted democracy through business education for national security. The study also revealed that lecturers‟ measures also promotes democracy through business education for national security. It was recommended that: government should make adequate budgetary provision for business education. Democrats should be involved in business teacher‟s conferences and seminars.
