A dramatizált játékban a jövőbeni technológiák alkalmazása keveredik a múltbeli gazdasági szerkezet jellemzőivel. A nyolcadikos korosztálynál a pályaválasztás kényszere közelebb hozza a reális világot, éa fiú–lány mintázatok sem karakterisztikusan jellemzők, a társadalmi hasznosság előtérbe kerül, de nem jelenik meg az új ipari forradalom képe.The new industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) is fundamentally going to change the world of labour. At the same time a generation split is taking place: the now primary school age students will determine the future labour market. This age is very sensitive, a foundation period for developing skills and norms. Hence what students have in their minds about work is essentially important. This paper is an introductory research, a case study of 8–9 and 14–15 year old students of an average primary school. The action research took place in three sessions of a day, and the method contains a combination of observation, group discussion, interviews, drawing analysis, story writing and drama pedagogy. The results reflect that the pre-school patterns of labour are still determining, the young primary school children still live in the stereotype-fantasy phase. Pleasure and search for identity motivate the choice of profession, rather than money. Future technology mingles with past and present structures in the futures drama performances. The results of the 14–15 age students partly differ: in terms of profession the need to choose secondary schools brings realities more to the forefront, the diverse boy-girl patterns fade away, and the motivation of social use becomes dominant; however, the Industry 4.0 structures are still neglected.

Experimentation with e-cigarettes has grown rapidly among UK adolescents. To date, this topic has been primarily researched in secondary schools, with less understanding of development of attitudes and behaviours at an earlier age. This research reports qualitative data from interviews with pupils, parents, and teachers at 4 case study schools in Wales (N = 42). It draws on Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory to consider how the intersection of systems surrounding primary school-age children and their interaction with these systems, shape knowledge, and attitudes towards e-cigarettes and tobacco. Findings indicate that consistent messaging on smoking from school and family was reflected in strong disapproval among pupils and clear understanding of harms. This was less evident for e-cigarettes, where messages were mixed and inconsistent between home and school, with concerns over what to tell children about e-cigarettes in light of mixed messages and absence of official guidance. Implications of findings for policy and teaching are discussed.

Purpose Industrial revolutions have been induced by technological advances, but fundamentally changed business and society. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the fourth industrial revolution (I4.0) and derive guidelines for business strategy, it is, therefore, necessary to explore it as a multi-facet phenomenon. Most literature on I4.0, however, takes up a predominantly technical view. This paper aims to report on a project discussing a holistic view on I4.0 and its implications, covering technology, business, society and people. Design/methodology/approach Two consecutive group discussions in form of academic world cafés have been conducted. The first workshop gathered multi-disciplinary experts from academia, whose results were further validated in a subsequent workshop including industry representatives. A voting procedure was used to capture participants perspectives. Findings The paper develops a holistic I4.0 vision, focusing on five core technologies, their business potential, societal requests and people implications. Based on the model a checklist has been developed, which firms can use a tool to analyze their firm’s situation and draft their industry 4.0 business strategy. Originality/value Rather than focusing on technology alone – which by itself is unlikely to make up for a revolution – this research integrates the entire system. In this way, a tool-set for strategy design results.
