Visual Communication Design as a Promotion Tool is a project that tries to describe a process of media design to inform a message regarding the promotion of an institution that is engaged in education that is STKIP Pasundan. Selection STKIP Pasundan is based on the consideration that this educational institution has great potential to compete with other similar educational institutions engaged in the field of College of Teacher Training and Education. Almost all educational institutions engaged in teacher training have the same facilities make the competition more difficult. Educational institutions that have long standing really have to be clever in attracting students to stay active and prospective students increase along with the many educational institutions that stand. Visual Communication Design is an appropriate means of promotion in building the identity of STKIP Pasundan to be able to compete and have a good image among the community. The basic design concept used is the simplicity / simplicity with the green color identity that is always applied in every design design. This concept is a simple concept that is able to attract attention. Seeing the conditions and problems, designed a visual communication design that can function effectively and variably that can convey information about STKIP Pasundan profile in detail and creative until the community and work relations image STKIP Pasundan Cimahi can be a positive recognition

Nowadays advertising is a field that is progressing rapidly and is quite popular majors marked by numerous educational institutions both private and the country that opened specialization advertising. One of the positions in the field of advertising that quite popular is Art Director. The skill of art directing is a bit much has been represented in the department of Visual Communication Design or Graphic design. But it is sometimes still confused between the duties and role of an art director and a graphic designer. This article gives a general overview of what is meant by Art Director as well as roles and duties.

Kebutuhan penggunaan karya fotografi untuk elemen iklan cetak saat ini masih tinggi. Iklan cetak di Indonesia 98% menggunakan ilustrasi dengan menggunakan teknik fotografi. Serta, pengetahuan dan keterampilan fotografi telah diberikan sebagai mata kuliah wajib di Perguruan Tinggi yang memiliki Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual (DKV). Tujuan tulisan ini adalah untuk mengingatkan betapa pentingnya pelajaran fotografi di desain grafis atau DKV, sehingga penting untuk dikelola dengan baik. Selepas tahun 1990-an dunia fotografi mulai memasuki era teknologi digital yang merubah budaya kerja di industri. Dari ketergantungan pada kemampuan skill manual manusia, berubah menjadi serba komputerisasi (digital). Era analog sedikit demi sedikit telah ditinggalkan karena di era digital kegiatan memotret dan paradigma tentang fotografi sudah bergeser. Dunia fotografi dulu dianggap kegiatan yang sulit dan mahal, namun sekarang relatif murah dan mudah. Teknologi boleh berkembang serta paradigma dapat bergeser, tetapi fungsi dan makna pada karya fotografi tetap penting serta diperlukan dalam desain komunikasi visual. Pendidikan Tinggi DKV tentunya ingin menciptakan sumber daya insani yang kompeten pada bidangnya dan diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi optimal di lapangan kerja. Alangkah baiknya apabila lembaga pendidikan mempedulikan profesi yang sesuai dengan levelnya.Kata kunci: fotografi, pendidikan DKV, desain komunikasi visual PHOTOGRAPHY IN VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGNAbstractThe need for photography works for printed advertisement is still high. Ninety-eight percents of printed advertisements in Indonesia use illustrations from photography techniques. In addition, the knowledge and skills of photography have been given as compulsory subjects in Higher Education which have a Visual Communication Design Program. The purpose of this paper is to remind us of the importance of photography lessons in graphic design that it is important to be well managed. After the 1990s the world of photography began to enter the age of digital technology that changed the work culture in the industry, from its dependence on human or manual skills into a completely computerized (digital) one. The analogue era has been gradually abandoned because in the digital era photographing activities and the paradigm about photography have shifted. The world of photography was once considered a difficult and expensive activity, but is now relatively cheap and easy. echnology may evolve as well as paradigms may shift, but the function and significance of photography work remain important and necessary in visual communication design. The purpose of a Visual Communication-Design program in Higher Education is to create competent human resources that are able to contribute optimally in the field of work. AbstrakProgram studi Desain Komunikasi Visual (DKV) di Malang memiliki banyak peminat dan terus meningkat. Zaman sekarang sudah banyak perguruan tinggi swasta yang membuka program studi DKV tidak terkecuali Universitas Ma Chung. Program studi S1 DKV Universitas Ma Chung atau lebih dikenal dengan DKV Ma Chung yang terletak di Malang ini merupakan program studi tergolong masih baru dan belum memiliki lulusan. Perkembangan suatu program studi di perguruan tinggi swasta sangat bergantung pada jumlah mahasiswa. Untuk memiliki peminat mahasiswa yang tinggi diantara peguruan tinggi swasta lain, program studi DKV Ma Chung harus memiliki brand equity. Multimedia interaktif adalah sebuah media yang mampu menyampaian informasi lebih kreatif, inovatif dan efektif. Maka dari itu tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang multimedia interaktif pengenalan DKV Ma Chung sebagai upaya meningkatkan brand equity. Metode perancangan multimedia interaktif menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif proses desain ADDIE meliputi Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, dan Evaluation. Metode ADDIE adalah model instruksi desain dengan sebuah framework yang membantu perancangan media. Manfaat jangka panjang dari penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan jumlah mahasiswa program studi DKV Ma Chung yang sangat penting bagi perkembangan sebuah program studi. Kata Kunci: DKV Ma Chung, brand equity, ADDIE, multimedia interaktif.  AbstractRecently, the number of applicants to study visual communication design in Malang increased significantly. The fact that nowadays many private universities, including Universitas Ma Chung, open a Study Program of Visual Communication Design. The Bachelor’s program of Visual Communication Design of Universitas Ma Chung (henceforth DKV Ma Chung), which is based in Malang, is a considerably new study program and has not had a single graduate. The development of a study program in a private university highly depends on the number of its students. To get a high number of prospective students for the study program amidst the competition with those in other universities, DKV Ma Chung has to build a brand equity. Interactive multimedia is one that can fulfill the needs in delivering information more innovatively. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to design an interactive multimedia to introduce DKV Ma Chung as an effort to improve brand equity. The interactive multimedia designing uses the qualitative approach to design process termed ADDIE. ADDIE, which stands for includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation, is a general design instructional model with a framework that helps media designing. The long-term benefit of this research is the increasing number of students of DKV Ma Chung, which is very important in the development of a study program.Keywords: DKV Ma Chung, brand equity, ADDIE, interactive multimedia

 A work of visual communication design which aired on the television screen has a different perspective in its interpretation in the eyes of the audience when compared to other media. By understanding the characteristics and nature of media, proper exploration of graphic design can easily be created. Through literature study, observations of the author as a practitioner of graphic design for television and comparisons with the print media will facilitate the understanding of this study.
