Organizations have invested heavily in implementing Information Systems (IS) such as enterprise systems (ES) but experienced significant challenges in realizing the potential benefits from these systems. Despite the maturity of research in ES, little research has examined the impact of continued use of ES on job satisfaction. With increased use and dependency on systems such as ES, recent research has shown that system use can impact employees’ satisfaction especially during the earlier stages of the system implementation. This is because the implementation of this system is usually accompanied with drastic change in work duties and tasks in which employees might have to learn new skills to navigate the new system. This disruptive event can influence employees’ attitudes about their jobs following ES implementation. However, past the initial stage of implementation not much is known about the impact of continued use of ES on employee job satisfaction. This research, by drawing on theoretical models on IT continued usage and IT adoption (e.g., Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology [UTAUT]), theorizes the impact of perceived usefulness (PU) on user satisfaction, IS continuance intention, and job satisfaction, and tests a model through a survey of 108 ES users at a manufacturing company in Canada. The results suggest that facilitating conditions are a salient predictor of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and user satisfaction. Additionally, the results support that user satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on continuance intention and employee job satisfaction.

Purpose Many developing countries, including India, are committed to curbing black money from the economy. Therefore, these countries are focusing on a transparent online transaction facility. M-wallets are one online option facilitated by various companies using a mobile application. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of perceived usefulness, perceived security, perceived ease of use, trust, grievance redressal and satisfaction on young users’ intention to continually use M-wallet in India. Design/methodology/approach A research framework based on the expectation–confirmation theory has been formulated and tested empirically using data from M-wallets young users in India using structural equation modeling. Findings The analysis reveals that perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use significantly affect user satisfaction and intention to continually use M-wallets. The effect of perceived security on user satisfaction is significant, and grievance redressal mediates the effect of perceived security on intention to continually use M-wallets. Practical implications The outcome of the research will help M-wallet service providers and policy makers in planning the service and increasing customer’ continuance intention. Originality/value The uniqueness of this research is that it adds two important constructs for mobile payment systems (grievance redressal and perceived security) that were missing in the earlier model proposed by Zhou (2013). The addition of the two constructs helped in formulating a better model.

User satisfaction is crucial to reinforce continued usage intention of mobile banking (MB). Since IS literature has overlooked continued usage intention of MB and its significance to reflect the success of MB system, it would be important to further the research in this area. This study employs both customization and security, two concerned factors among customers, to examine their impact on satisfaction and MB continuance intention. Extended expectation-confirmation model in IT domain (ECM-IT), developed from TAM and ECM, is used to evaluate the factors affecting satisfaction which in turn affects MB continuance intention. With a sample of a mid-sized US bank customers, regression results reveal that efficiency quality with its underlying factors of perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are significant predictors of satisfaction. The interaction effect is significant for customization, but not for security. Theoretical and practical implications are communicated.

The aim of the study was to know the impact of service quality of E-Government (EG) on citizen satisfaction (CS). The aim was also to know the mediating roles of Perceived Usefulness of E-Government (PUEG). This study was conducted in Thailand. Out of the total 298 respondents of this research, 124 respondents were male, and 174 respondents were females, which means that majority of the respondents were females. Out of the total 298 respondents of this research, 23 of the respondents had completed their graduation, 143 respondents had completed their post-graduation, 122 respondents had completed their masters and ten respondents had other degrees. It has shown that how the perceived usefulness has helped the E-Government in different ways to be a part of the innovation and bringing new variations to the system. This can only be seen in effectiveness and cooperation of the general public which is a must for any system to run properly. The mediating role has added value and content to Citizenship and user satisfaction to the system. The ongoing processes of E-Government has gained vital interest of the general public which are ready to invest in self grooming so that they can be a part of online system introduced by the state.

Purpose – The purpose of the study is to investigate the impact of perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU) and trust on mobile website satisfaction. Design/methodology/approach – A total of 302 valid questionnaires were collected to empirically test the research model. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was performed to evaluate the reliability and validity of the measurement model and structural models. Findings – The results show that there is a positive relationship between PEOU, PU and mobile users’ satisfaction. PU is positively related to trust and mobile users’ satisfaction. Moreover, trust positively influences mobile users’ satisfaction. Practical implications – Drawing on the technology acceptance model and trust theory, this study develops and empirically examines a model for consumers’ satisfaction to use mobile services. This study contributes new insights concerning the marketing literature by examining the impact of PU, PEOU and trust on mobile users’ satisfaction. Originality/value – The contribution of the study is significant for both mobile marketers and academicians in the era of the third-generation environment. This study is among the first few attempts to integrate the TAM with trust to determine mobile user satisfaction.

This paper synthesized the technology acceptance model (TAM), to explain and predict the users' intentions to continue using e-payment system. The hypothesized model was validated empirically using a sample data collected from a modified e-payment questionnaire. A simple random sample technique was used to select 250 academic and non academic staff at the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. The results reveal correlation among perceived usefulness and attitude to use, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and attitude; perceived enjoyment and continuance intention to use, speed and actual use. Furthermore, attitude, satisfaction and actual use were all associated with continuance intention. Moreover, all the nine e-payment predictive factors together made 65% of e-payment continuance intention, and similarly; perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, enjoyment, speed; perceived benefits, user satisfaction, actual use and attitude are good predictors of e-payment continuance intention.

PurposeThe number of people using running apps has increased. Accordingly, a growing number of sports brands are launching running apps in hopes of improving their connection with consumers and thereby enhancing consumers' brand preference and purchase intention. This study adopted an integrated perspective to explore the effects of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and self-expression on consumers' continued use of running apps.Design/methodology/approachConvenience sampling was conducted among consumers in Taiwan (n = 251). Structural equation modeling using AMOS 21 was performed to analyze the data.FindingsThe study results revealed that (1) users' perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and self-expression significantly positively affected continuance intention, and (2) continuance intention was significantly positively correlated with word-of-mouth (WOM) and brand intimacy. Furthermore, the study confirmed the moderating effect of consumers' relationship norms on the correlation between continuance intention and WOM and brand intimacy.Originality/valueAmid the increasing emphasis on self-expression, almost all running apps endeavor to enable users to share their achievements, such as accumulated mileage and routes. However, research has rarely focused on whether these features influence consumers' continued use of running apps and whether these influences in turn affect consumers’ attitudes toward a brand. Therefore, this study explored the effect of self-expression on the continued use of running apps.

PurposeThe objective of this paper is to understand the benefits and utility of massive open online courses (MOOCs) as perceived by the student, vis-à-vis internship and determine the factors that influence student motivation and distraction in adoption of MOOCs.Design/methodology/approachAn empirical study is conducted through a survey; data are collected through a structured questionnaire. The technology acceptance model (TAM) is used as the base framework. For data analysis, Statistical Product and Service Solutions–Analysis of Moment Structures (SPSS–AMOS) 24.0 is used.FindingsThe impact of context-specific distinctive features of MOOCs and characteristics of students on user satisfaction are examined through perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. In the study, it is found that positive social influence and better facilitating conditions improve perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness leading to a better user satisfaction. Self-regulation positively influences self-efficacy among students while pursuing MOOCs. Contrary to the past researches, it is found that in the pandemic environment self-efficacy is not impacting perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and satisfaction.Practical implicationsThe findings of this study will benefit MOOCs developers and Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) in deeper understanding the significant factors affecting MOOC usage in higher education.Originality/valueThe study is ingrained to find the causes which will lead to user satisfaction of MOOCs by post-graduation students of B-schools in India. This is an original research and primary data has been collected for decision-making.

<p>Mobile payment has relative advantages compared to other payment methods, thus providing benefits for both consumers and the society. This study attempts to examine factors influencing consumer intention to use mobile payment services. Survey data are used to investigate the impact of consumers’ perceptions of mobile payment services and social influence on use intention. Empirical evidence from 489 Vietnamese consumers confirms a significant relationship between the factors and behavioral intention, and reveals that perceived trust is the strongest predictor of intention to use mobile payment services followed by perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, perceived behavioral control, perceived usefulness and subjective norm, respectively. The results contribute to the evolving literature, and suggest that mobile payment service providers should particularly focus on building up consumer trust, and making their services clear, understandable and easy to use. Future research directions for extending this study are also discussed.</p>

Recently, the social networking applications expand rapidly and attract a lot of users in a short time period. This study attempts to develop a conceptual model to understand the continuance intention in the context of social networking. The conceptual model integrates the post-acceptance model of information system continuance with perceived ease-of-use and perceived usefulness proposed by Bhattacherjee (2001a) and Davis (1989), respectively. In the proposed model, continuance intention is influenced by the relationship quality and information system quality. Additionally, nine propositions are developed based the proposed model and literature review. Finally, conclusions, managerial implications, and future direction of research are also provided.
