Green industry (sustainable) is an industry whose use of resources is carried out in a sustainable manner so as to be able to align industrial development with the preservation of environmental functions and be able to benefit the community. As a result, many manufacturing companies have begun implementing SSCM practices and proactively providing environmentally friendly products and services. The high number of production in the manufacturing industry raises negative issues in terms of the environment because the manufacturing industry is considered not environmentally friendly, the cause of climate change, forest destruction and the cause of global warming.

Globally, increasing environmental issues are gaining attention to facilitate the adoption of green innovation for sustainable supply chain management (SSCM). Sustainable environmental practices have been well-considered in the literature; however, no study has focused on adopting green innovation practices for sustainable development. Thus, environmental management authorities are putting pressure on industries to implement green innovation criteria for SSCM operations. Moreover, it is important to select traditional suppliers to transform its practices to that of sustainable supply chains in order to achieve the industry’s sustainable supply chain goals. In response, this research identified and analyzed the green innovation criteria for SSCM and then selected a supplier that could implement green aspects in the SSCM. This study developed an integrated multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) model using the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP) and the fuzzy technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution (FTOPSIS). The objective of this study was to analyze suppliers to implement green innovation criteria for SSCM practices in the textile manufacturing companies of China. This study reviewed and identified three green innovation criteria and seventeen sub-criteria. Then, the FAHP technique was employed to analyze and rank green innovation criteria and sub-criteria. Finally, the FTOPSIS method was used to investigate and rank eight suppliers. The findings of the FAHP indicated that economic (EC) criteria were the most vital green innovation criteria in the SSCM. Furthermore, the FTOPSIS results revealed that supplier 5 was the most suitable supplier for implementing green innovation criteria in the SSCM. These findings will help managers, practitioners, and policymakers implement green innovation criteria in sustainable manufacturing supply chains.

This study aims to investigate the sustainable supply chain management practices likely to be adopted by the manufacturing industry of automotive products in India. The approach of the present research includes a literature review, in depth interviews and questionnaire surveys. The relationship between sustainable supply chain management practices and environmental performance is studied. The industries in the automotive products industry in India were sampled for empirical study. The data were then analyzed using statistical package for the social sciences is used as a path analysis model to verify the hypothetical construction of the study. The results indicate that performance of automotive products industry regarding eco procurement, eco accounting, eco logistic design, eco product design, eco manufacturing practices, operational performance, vendor management etc in response to the current wave of national & international green issues and also environmental performance of the respective industries.

Manufacturing industry is the lifeblood of national economy, and innovation input is the lifeline of manufacturing enterprises. This paper selects the financial data of China’s listed manufacturing companies from 2015 to 2019 to study the moderating effect of governance structure on the relationship between innovation input and firm performance. It is found that innovation investment has a negative influence on firm performance with lag. In terms of ownership structure, ownership concentration has a negative moderating effect on the relationship between innovation input and firm performance. The degree of equity balance has a positive moderating effect on the relationship between innovation input and firm performance. According to the conclusion of this study, it is expected to optimize the governance structure of China’s manufacturing enterprises and promote industrial development.

The industry is gradually forced to integrate socially sustainable development practices and cross-social issues. Although researchers and practitioners emphasize environmental and economic sustainability in supply chain management (SCM). This is unfortunate because not only social sustainable development plays an important role in promoting other sustainable development programs, but social injustice at one level in the supply chain may also cause significant losses to companies throughout the chain. This article aimed to consolidate the literature on the responsibilities of suppliers, manufacturers, and customers and to adopt sustainable supply chain management (SSSCM) practices in the Pakistani industry to identify all possible aspects of sustainable social development in the supply chain by investigating the relationship between survey variables and structure. This work went beyond the limits of regulations and showed the status of maintaining sustainable social issues. Based on semi-structured interviews, a comprehensive questionnaire was developed. The data was collected through a survey of the head of the supply chain in Karachi, Pakistan. The results of this paper showed that organizational learning was the most important dimension of supplier social sustainability with a value of 40.5% as compared to the effectiveness of the supply chain and the supplier performance with values 37.7 and 9.6%, respectively. In terms of the manufacturer’s social responsibility, the highest score for operational performance was 47%, while productivity was 20%, and corporate social demonstration was 20%. Finally, for the customers’ social sustainability, two dimensions were determined, namely, customer satisfaction and customer commitment with scores of 47 and 40%, respectively. We also solved sustainable social problems from the perspective of suppliers, manufacturers, and customers. The study would help professionals anywhere to emphasize their considerations and would improve the management of social sustainability in their supply chain.

Purpose Green or sustainable supply chain management (GSCM/SSCM) has in recent years attracted much attention from academia and practitioners in all part of the world. In recent years, all humanity has experienced severe climate change which is widely attributed to human activity. Harmful emissions have made a major contribution to recent climate change which presents major challenges and threats to the entire human race in form of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunami and floods. The purpose of this paper is to propose a conceptual GSCM/SSCM framework contributing to knowledge-based view theory and systems theory (ST) and provide an exhaustive list of further research directions. Design/methodology/approach In this paper the authors have used a systematic literature review to identify building blocks of the conceptual framework, which is the principal contribution of the present paper. Findings In this paper the authors have proposed a conceptual framework for sustainable supply chain network and at the end the authors have outlined further research directions. Research limitations/implications The current paper is an attempt to develop a conceptual framework which is grounded in knowledge-based theory. The study helps to extent the prior works which lacks theory focused approach. Originality/value The present work has immense theoretical value and can be useful to the policy makers or practitioners engaged in GSCM practices.
