With the rapid development of vehicle communication and the goal of self-driving vehicle, research in this area is still ongoing, as car companies aspire for more studies and effective communication methods between vehicles. In this research, we have developed an intelligent, innovative and fully integrated multi agent model, which is used for vehicle-to-vehicle communications. The developed model is supported by an intelligent system based on a Nonlinear External Neural Network (NARX) and signal estimation theory. The system is built using real vehicles sensors, Arduino, GSM and RF technologies. The system is tested by applying different scenarios and observing vehicle behaviors. The results show that the smart system is able to make the appropriate decision based on both the vehicle's current condition and sensor readings. The developed system is able to operate effectively in a noisy environment in an excellent manner.

AbstractSummaryCoevolutionary sequence analysis has become a commonly used technique for de novo prediction of the structure and function of proteins, RNA, and protein complexes. This approach requires extensive computational pipelines that integrate multiple tools, databases, and data processing steps. We present the EVcouplings framework, a fully integrated open-source application and Python package for coevolutionary analysis. The framework enables generation of sequence alignments, calculation and evaluation of evolutionary couplings (ECs), and de novo prediction of structure and mutation effects. The application has an easy to use command line interface to run workflows with user control over all analysis parameters, while the underlying modular Python package allows interactive data analysis and rapid development of new workflows. Through this multi-layered approach, the EVcouplings framework makes the full power of coevolutionary analyses available to entry-level and advanced users.Availabilityhttps://github.com/debbiemarkslab/[email protected], [email protected]

This study examined the Governors’ powers to charge ground rent and revoke certificate of occupancy in Nigeria under the Land Use Act of 1978 in relation to its impacts on land development. The study found out that there is lack of clarity in the assessment, double payments in the collection of ground rents and loss of revenue by the government. This review strongly suggests that for effective application of ground rent that ensures rapid development of land, there should be an amendment of section 5 (1) of the Act, elimination of frequent revision of ground rent and the use of qualified Estate Surveyors and Valuers in the assessment and collection of ground rents.

The rapid development of portable electronic products in recent years increases demands of varied displays. With resolutions of panel sizes and pixels under current drive capability improved, this study is intended for designing an inductive DC boost converter circuit for displays, which is fully integrated with IC fabrication technology [1][2]. Most of current displays employ capacitances for voltage-boosting to supply relative high-voltage biases to displays. These booster circuits are in small sizes and with high efficiency, but limited output currents, which are inadequate for some of large-sized displays. To remedy the problem, an on-board, small-sized inductor in the forms of coils in a printed circuit board (PCB) is proposed for a superior solution. This PCB-type inductor can be incorporated into the same board with other drive chips for the displays, while offering large, adequate current, as an incapable task via an on-chip coil.

Real-time visualization algorithms which are fully integrated into software framework are of importance for the rapid development of medical visualization applications. This chapter gives an overview of different software frameworks for real-time visualization algorithms. These algorithms are fully integrated into some open-source freely-available software frameworks. First, we introduce the famous Visualization Toolkit (VTK), and we then describe some other specialized toolkits, for example, for image registration and segmentation, MAF (Multimod Application Framework) supported by an EC-funded project MULTIMOD. We discuss the majority of algorithms available that can be easily combined for rapid construction of visualization applications. Finally, we place emphasis on exploiting the characteristics of medical datasets for further utilizing the hardware-accelerated capabilities of modern graphics cards.

This study aims to determine the validity of Maharatul Qira'ah learning model design by utilizing Edmodo e-learning application, and to describe the learning model and its impact on student participation. The rapid development of ICT is influencing the Arabic learning model at PBA UIN IB Padang which is still using the classical model, and the participation of students is still lacking. Here, the innovation of the classical learning model toward online-based learning needs to be done, such as by utilizing Edmodo e-learning application. This research used the ADDIE step model. The research subjects consisted of 32 students and 5 lecturers of PBA. This study used valid instruments. Based on the data analysis, the validity of the design of the teaching materials presented in the Edmodo e-learning has met the very valid criteria, with a score of 83.59.  The e-learning model developed was a blended learning with complement functions in the form of synchronous and asynchronous communication. This e-learning had been able to increase student participation by 81,25%.  This study recommends further researchers to use Edmodo e-learning application in teaching various language skills in a fully integrated online model.

The excellent preservation of the molluscan fauna from the Gosport Sand (Eocene) at Little Stave Creek, Alabama, has made it possible to describe the preserved color patterns of 15 species. In this study the functional significance of these color patterns is tested in the context of the current adaptationist controversy. The pigment of the color pattern is thought to be a result of metabolic waste disposal. Therefore, the presence of the pigment is functional, although the patterns formed by the pigment may or may not have been adaptive. In this investigation the criteria proposed by Seilacher (1972) for testing the functionality of color patterns were applied to the Gosport fauna and the results compared with life mode as interpreted from knowledge of extant relatives and functional morphology. Using Seilacher's criteria of little ontogenetic and intraspecific variability, the color patterns appear to have been functional. However, the functional morphology studies indicate an infaunal life mode which would preclude functional color patterns. Particular color patterns are instead interpreted to be the result of historical factors, such as multiple adaptive peaks or random fixation of alleles, or of architectural constraints including possibly pleiotropy or allometry. The low variability of color patterns, which was noted within species and genera, suggests that color patterns may also serve a useful taxonomic purpose.

Endothelial cells in longitudinal and cross sections of aortas from 3 randomly selected “normal” mongrel dogs were studied by electron microscopy. Segments of aorta were distended with cold cacodylate buffered 5% glutaraldehyde for 10 minutes prior to being cut into small, well oriented tissue blocks. After an additional 1-1/2 hour period in glutaraldehyde, the tissue blocks were well rinsed in buffer and post-fixed in OsO4. After dehydration they were embedded in a mixture of Maraglas, D.E.R. 732, and DDSA.Aldehyde fixation preserves the filamentous and tubular structures (300 Å and less) for adequate demonstration and study. The functional significance of filaments and microtubules has been recently discussed by Buckley and Porter; the precise roles of these cytoplasmic components remains problematic. Endothelial cells in canine aortas contained an abundance of both types of structures.

The IRμs™ is the first fully integrated system for Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) microscopy. FT-IR microscopy combines light microscopy for morphological examination with infrared spectroscopy for chemical identification of microscopic samples or domains. Because the IRμs system is a new tool for molecular microanalysis, its optical, mechanical and system design are described to illustrate the state of development of molecular microanalysis. Applications of infrared microspectroscopy are reviewed by Messerschmidt and Harthcock.Infrared spectral analysis of microscopic samples is not a new idea, it dates back to 1949, with the first commercial instrument being offered by Perkin-Elmer Co. Inc. in 1953. These early efforts showed promise but failed the test of practically. It was not until the advances in computer science were applied did infrared microspectroscopy emerge as a useful technique. Microscopes designed as accessories for Fourier transform infrared spectrometers have been commercially available since 1983. These accessory microscopes provide the best means for analytical spectroscopists to analyze microscopic samples, while not interfering with the FT-IR spectrometer’s normal functions.
