Technogenic pressure in the industrial region, as Kusbass is, despite of taken measures for limitations of harmful substances emissions and stuffi in the atmosphere is continued to grow. The damage is being harmful to all (natural) environment and all living things including humans. This causes the probability of the ecological hazard, i.e. technogenic ecological risk. The present study examines the harmful effects of precipitation in the form of acid rains. It analyzes the factors causing the acid rains intensity in the vicinity of the mining sector. It is noted that fi the acid rains occurrence is caused by industrial explosions in the open casts and harmful emissions from heavy mining trucks. Special laboratory tests of automobile fuel including spectral methods have shown the presence of sub-standard component in the form of sulfur which is greatly exceeded the standard. It infl the air pollution level with sulfur compounds as there is the open cast localization of multi-ton vehicles running on this fuel. On the basis of social-hygienic monitoring of children and adults health and air pollution levels in big industrial centers of Kusbass, causal relationships have been established and the regularities of health disorders formation for population, especially among children, have been determined. In this connection there are opinions about the negative infl on population health who live close to Kuzbass open cast, harmful factors arising due to the fi of the air environment with many chemicals (nitric oxide, sulfur containing compounds like hydrogen sulfi thiophene and its derivatives, acid and average ethers of sulfuric acid, nitric acid vapours and many others) in large quantities.

The outbreak of COVID-19 has created a serious public health concern worldwide. Although, most of the regions around the globe have been affected by COVID-19 infections; some regions are more badly affected in terms of infections and fatality rates than others. The exact reasons for such variations are not clear yet. This review discussed the possible effects of air pollution on COVID-19 infections and mortality based on some recent evidence. The findings of most studies reviewed here demonstrate that both short-term and long-term exposure to air pollution especially PM2.5 and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) may contribute significantly to higher rates of COVID-19 infections and mortalities with a lesser extent also PM10. A significant correlation has been found between air pollution and COVID-19 infections and mortality in some countries in the world. The available data also indicate that exposure to air pollution may influence COVID-19 transmission. Moreover, exposure to air pollution may increase vulnerability and have harmful effects on the prognosis of patients affected by COVID-19 infections. Further research should be conducted considering some potential confounders such as age and pre-existing medical conditions along with exposure to NO2, PM2.5 and other air pollutants to confirm their detrimental effects on mortalities from COVID-19.

Abstract: Air pollution is the biggest problem of every nation, whether it is developed or developing. Health problems have been growing at faster rate especially in urban areas of developing countries where industrialization and growing number of vehicles leads to release of lot of gaseous pollutants. Harmful effects of pollution include mild allergic reactions such as irritation of the throat, eyes and nose as well as some serious problems like bronchitis, heart diseases, pneumonia, lung and aggravated asthma. According to a survey, due to air pollution 50,000 to 100,000 premature deaths per year occur in the U.S. alone. LPG sensor is added in this system which is used mostly in houses. The system will show temperature and humidity. The system can be installed anywhere but mostly in industries and houses where gases are mostly to be found and gives an alert message when the system crosses threshold limit. The advantages of the detector, have a reliable stability, rapid response recovery and long-life features. It is affordable, userfriendly, low-cost and minimum-power requirement hardware which is appropriate for mobile measurement, as well as comprehensible data collection

Air pollution is now considered to be the world’s largest environmental health threat accounting for millions of deaths globally each year. The social group that is particularly exposed to the harmful effects of air pollution is the children. A daily route to school can constitute an important component of children’s physical activity, but air pollution can pose a threat to their health. Numerous studies have proved high loads of PM can be effectively reduced by vegetation. Little is however known, whether vegetation can also reduce PM during the leaf dormancy period. In this study, we investigated the role of trees in PM removal on children’s routes to schools during winter. We investigated walking routes to selected schools in Warsaw, by examining the adjacent vegetation and PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations and the presence of local black-smoke-belching stoves. We found that proximity to local CHP emitters had the strongest impact on pollution on the way to schools, while not finding a significant relationship between dense greenery and PM loads. Even more, the highest density of vegetation along walking routes tended to stimulate higher PM concentrations. The results obtained show the poor performance of tree canopy in reducing PM loads during winter.

Vegan and vegetarianism that becomes an increasing trend day by day is a life style and a life philosophy and a bioethical approach. The reason of choosing for being a vegan/ vegetarian differs according to people’s preferences. These may be; respecting for a living things’ life, taking an ethical position against exploitation of animals, reducing ecological damage, being healthy and religious purposes. Most people believe that the nature and animals just exist for the sake of them. Accordingly, people use and consume them with impunity. Human exploits animals to use them for different kinds of purposes he wishes. While some of them are cared and fed at home (like cats, dogs) some of them are raised at farms for eating or to benefit from their products such as eggs and milk. There are also some other animals to be used for entertaining purposes in circuses or camel wrestling and bull fighting. There are also animals used for their abilities. A police dog can be given as an example. Police dogs are used for their powerful sense of smell that people have not. There have been some traditional practices that include some animals. Other two examples are turkeys being eaten at thanksgiving day and a ram decorated at the Festival of Sacrifice and sent to the fiancée‘s home. On the one hand it is observed that consuming meat of an animal has different meanings in terms of gender considerations. For example, eating meat is viewed as masculine behavior while eating vegetables is feminine. In addition, meat at advertisements is generally symbolized as a woman. These kinds of behaviors, attitudes, beliefs affect development of veganism/ vegetarianism positively or negatively. In this paper, veganism/vegetarianism is described as a life style.

Environmental pollution states the toxification by different forms of pollutants in the surroundings. This causes the natural system imbalance and affects the life on earth in different ways. The emissions of pollutants into air result in climate changes. The rising levels of CO2 and other air-polluting gases increase the greenhouse effect which results in temperature elevations and affects global weather patterns. Bill Gates also warned “Climate change is a terrible problem, and it absolutely needs to be solved; it deserves to be a huge priority”. Though climate change and air pollution are closely linked, these are treated as separate problems. Hence, it is aimed to understand the aspects of association between climate change and air pollution in this chapter with the objectives: (i) To know the basics of climate change and air pollution, (ii) To review the active background studies on climate change as well as on air pollution, (iii) To identify the issues, controversies, problems which include the effects of global warming and greenhouse gases followed by the types of air pollutants and its harmful effects, (iv) To find the solutions and recommendations, the discussions are made on climate laws and policies, (v) To retrieve, analyze and store the climate change related information, the description about models, tools and databases are given, (vi) To have a flawless insights on the association of climate change and air pollution, (vii) To exemplify species indicators for the assessment of the effect of air pollution on climate change are also included. As Bernie Sanders said “Climate change is a planetary crisis. We've got to act, and we have to act boldly”.

Atmospheric pollution limitation has evolved and evolves continuously, depending on the better knowledge of the harmful effects of the different atmospheric pollutants. The main elements that have led and lead to the continuous revision of the norms are the climatic changes and acid rain associated with atmospheric pollutants. In this context, the paper presents the following aspects: two monitoring regimes aims to evaluate and prevent air pollution in urban areas; was chosen as a monitoring location Constanta city, with strategic points exposed to the risk of pollution. For the monitoring of emissions in these locations, a selfemployed emission analyzer was used. Where there are risk areas, exists a risk analisys with vulnerable locations and values of emissions’s concentrations. There are monitoring CO, CO2, NO2, SO2 emissions and PM2.5 and PM10 in air of urban sites which are exposed to the risk of pollution. Finally, the recorded values are below the maximum permissible limit. The conclusion is that pollution in urban sites can also be a danger to neighboring rural settlements, if there is no strict monitoring thereof.

The harmful effects of man-made air pollution cause impaired functioning of many systems of the human body, posing the greatest danger to the health of children. Both Ukrainian and foreign scientific researches have proved that not only increase in the number of diseases of the respiratory system takes place, but also the prevalence of allergic diseases and a decrease in cognitive function of schoolchildren. The relationship between atmospheric air pollution in school districts and the presence of diseases among schoolchildren has been established. Some chemicals, such as lead and manganese, can have a direct effect on the brain, cognitive function of children, their intelligence and impair pupils' performance. Analysis of statistical data in the Kharkiv region over a 25-year period indicates a tendency to increase the levels of carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, soot, zinc in the atmosphere, against the background of the general reduction of emissions of organized and unorganized sources into the atmospheric air, including estimation per unit area and "technogenic load" per person. To date, sanitary and hygienic monitoring of atmospheric air is not organized in full, only full ecological monitoring is carried out. In this regard, the State Consumer Service of the Kharkiv region for 2019 developed a program of sampling of atmospheric air in the territories adjacent to the preschool institutions and schools of the region, with their further study on 12 ingredients - the main pollutants, most characteristic of both stationary and mobile pollution sources. Effective operation of the regional system of social hygiene and environmental monitoring is one of the necessary measures to stabilize and improve the environment, as well as the primary prevention of the harmful effects of industrial atmospheric pollution, including the identification of potential risk for the most vulnerable populations and development on the primary prevention of respiratory pathology.
