Ecotourism is considered as a pre-eminent form of tourism that helps to balance economic purpose and conservation of natural and cultural values of the area. However, in order to conduct efficient ecotourism activities, besides a specific ecosystem, the locality must have proper human resources as well as responsible tourists. This paper presents some findings from our research on how the labors’ planning and working for ecotourism spots in Can Gio to meet the requirements of ecotourism. A survey with tourists was also realized. The result raises some concerns about the sustainability of ecotourism in Can Gio.

This study investigated benthic diatom communities of mangrove forests at Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Samples were collected on two substrates: mud surface and living root surface. Sampling locations were placed in four types of mangrove vegetation: mud flat (without vegetation), Rhizophora forests, mixed forest of Avicennia-Rhizophora and Avicennia forest along three tidal creeks during wet and dry seasons of 2004-2005. A total of 348 taxa were identified, of which 100 taxa belong to the Order Centrales and 238 belong to the Order Pentales. There were significant differences in benthic diatom species richness and species composition between two types of substrates and among different mangrove forest types. The difference between wet and dry season was not significant.

A simple analytical model for flow in the creeks is formulated, built up and applied in the real conditions in Nang Hai creek, Can Gio mangrove Biosphere Reserve (Ho Chi Minh city).Observed data of current speed and water level in the creek in the year of 2005 were used to find the friction coefficients in the mangrove swamp and to apply in the model. Results from calculated modeling show obviously the tidal asymmetry in mangrove creek. The peaks of current speed at flood and ebb tides are not equal as the swamp is inundated. The friction coefficients have the great influence in the tidal asymmetry. The friction coefficient in the creek can change remarkably the current speed in the creek, inducing the changes of the current speed peaks. The friction coefficient in the swamp has much less influenced to the current speed in the creeks.

Education which is a system in the perspective of anthology is an attempt to humanize humans by an appropriate manner to achieve very high humane values as an attempt to change as well as to move the cultural values to any individual in society. But this view is difficult to achieve when the belief that a person's success will occur due to the efforts started early in order to organize their future without having an education. This paper will provide a breakthrough through leadership of education that is not only based on good intellectual ability, but also good emotional and spiritual. With the result that it will contribute qualified modern human resources. Modern human Resources is a human being who has the potential of ad equated intellectual quality. However, sometimes the potential is empty because it is not matched by the quality of the good faith or emotional. In the fact, they (modern humans) have good reasoning capability. However, the success which is useful in the future whether for themselves, the community, the nation and the state are not only enough by having logical thought only. But, it also requires EQ Emotional Quotient (level of emotional or personality) , CQ Creativity Quotient (level of creativity) and SQ Spiritual Quotient (level religiosities or faith and devotion to God. Thus , the national education system must be able to provide a solution- which is able to break of the empty circle of values and morals happening in education system around us . the empty circle we must combine as well as put the intellectual intelligence , emotional intelligence , and spiritual intelligence known as ESQ in order to get balance between the fulfillment of rights and vertical or horizontal obligations. ESQ is a role of the leadership of its resources which include Human Resources and Natural Resources with the organization as a model of leadership in education. ESQ if applied in educational leadership level, it would be beneficial along with the growth and development of the educational organization with the growth of moral values.

This paper focuses on local people’s participation in the development of ecological cultural tourism in the Vam Nao reservoir area of An Giang Province, located approximately 180 kilomteres southeast of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Building on experiences of several countries on how to involve local people in natural resource management and ecotourism development, we interviewed 95 in-depth stakeholders related to natural resource management, tourism, environment, and people’s participation; distributed questionnaires to 340 tourists; and synthesised field survey data from 500 online visitor surveys. On the basis of analysis and evaluation of these materials, this paper suggests a new policy on tourism for An Giang provincial leaders involving preservation of local cultural values as support for ecological and cultural tourism in the studied area. In the last section, the paper makes recommendations for increasing community participation in areas similar to the one studied herein.
