The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of Foreign Direct Investment, Gross Domestic Product, Energy Consumption, Electric Consumption, and Meat Consumption on CO2 emissions of 41 countries in the world using panel data from 1999 to 2013. After analyzing 41 countries in the world data, furthermore 17 countries in Asia was analyzed with the same period. This study utilized quantitative approach with Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression method. The results of 41 countries in the world data indicates that Foreign Direct Investment, Gross Domestic Product, Energy Consumption, and Meat Consumption significantlyaffect Environmental Qualities which measured by CO2 emissions. Whilst the results of 17 countries in Asia data implies that Foreign Direct Investment, Energy Consumption, and Electric Consumption significantlyaffect Environmental Qualities. However, Gross Domestic Product and Meat Consumption does not affect Environmental Qualities.

In the literature, the impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) on carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions is explained by two different hypotheses: Pollution Halo and Pollution Haven Hypothesis. While Pollution Halo hypothesis states that FDI provides advanced technology to countries and accordingly decreases CO2 emissions, Pollution Haven Hypothesis indicates that there is a positive relationship between FDI and CO2. In this regard, in this study, the impact of FDI on CO2 emissions in the selected 10 of G-20 countries in the period of 1970-2010 is investigated by using panel data analysis. The empirical findings show that panels have cross-section dependence and these two panels are stationary in different levels. Moreover, the existence of long term relationship between panels is found by using Durbin Hausmann panel cointegration test. The results of the study also show that while Pollution Halo Hypothesis is valid for USA, France and Argentina, Pollution Haven Hypothesis is valid for UK, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Italy, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.

As a synthesis of capital, technology, knowledge and information, foreign direct investment(FDI) has a significant impact on the host country's economy, and the infrastructure is no exception which is an important part of one country's economy. This paper aims to empirically analyse the impact of FDI on infrastructure, using the panel data of ASEAN countries’ infrastructure and FDI from 2003 to 2017 and compare the infrastructure effect of FDI from China and FDI from countries besides China. Result shows that FDI of ASEAN countries did improve the infrastructure level and for every 1% increase in FDI of ASEAN countries, the infrastructure level of ASEAN countries rose 0.308%. In addition, FDI from China of ASEAN countries did improve the infrastructure level and for every 1% increase in FDI from China of ASEAN countries, the infrastructure level of ASEAN countries rose 0.252%. Therefore, as a bottleneck of ASEAN's economic development, infrastructure can be improved by attracting FDI, especially FDI from China.

Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is the main element of the industrial development and economic growth. FDI will bring spillover effect in the form of technology transfer, increased competitiveness and surely will open up employment. But the presence of FDI into the country is not necessarily without problems. In the massif, the presence of FDI will build new factories that will bring the potential negative environmental externalities. This research aims to analyze the impact of FDI on the quality environment represented by CO2 emissions. In addition to the FDI also hosted other macroeconomic variables to see the impact on the environment in the aggregate economy. By using the time series regression analysis, the results show that the presence of the FDI has positive effects significantly to an increase in CO2 emissions. While the other macroeconomic variable, namely, poverty and population growth has a negative effect against CO2 emissions.

AbstractForeign Direct Investment (FDI) in recent years has created a positive impact for ASEAN countries. FDI give spillover effects that directly contribute capital improvements, technological developments, and global market access, also skills and managerial transfers. In order to attract FDI inflow into country, ASEAN member countries need to know what factors which attract investment related to the needs of infrastructure types and other factors. The purpose of this study is examine the determinant of FDI in ASEAN countries. This research method used is panel data regression period 2005-2015 from 10 countries in ASEAN. This study examined the relationship between Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and the emission of CO2 in the Sub Saharan Africa. The literature focuses on foreign direct investments and C02 emission studies in various countries. Data was obtained for the World Bank database from 2004 to 2015, the general method of moment (GMM) model was used for estimating parameters with endogenous regressions in the panel data model to analyze our data. We found out that FDI has significantly influenced the emission of CO2 in the Sub Saharan Africa. The results demonstrated the heterogeneity of the effects of foreign direct investment on CO2 emissions, the impact of foreign direct investment on CO2 emissions is negative and significant. However, the general environmental impact of foreign direct investment is determined by indirect effects and appears to be positive. Moreover, natural resources endowment seemed not to play a key role in this relationship. Recommendations were given to ensure the usage of renewable energy by ensuring a sustainable economic growth.

This study dealt with the effect of foreign direct investment on the market value of the company during the period of time (2010-2017). This issue was studied through a sample of oil fields in southern Iraq in which the company operates within the first and second licensing contracts rounds and according to the circumstances and variables of the investment environment as it is. Although this investment often achieves high returns, it is also characterized by a high degree of risk and for the purpose of evaluating the impact of foreign direct investment on the market value of the company's stock prices for the period (2010-2017). The statistical scale (T-TEST) was used to indicate the significance of the correlation hypotheses. Between the return on investment as the independent variable and the market value as the dependent variable, and the use of the coefficient of determination (R2) that measures the effect of the independent variable (foreign direct investment) on the dependent variable (market value) and the F-Test to demonstrate acceptance or rejection of the hypothesis of the return on investing in the market value of the oil company, and if the company achieves a high return in foreign direct investment, the market value of it will be affected positively. The study was based on a set of goals, including determining the attractiveness of Iraq to foreign investments, especially the oil sector, and the study reached a number of conclusions, the most prominent of which is the existence of a strong inverse correlation between the return on investment and the market value of the company. And the existence of a slight impact of the return on investment on the market value of the company, and the study reached a number of recommendations, the most important of which is activating the investment climate through political stability and the clarity and stability of laws and legislation regulating investment, which is one of the most important factors affecting the investment decision.
