The study aimed to develop and evaluate an immediate-release tablet dosage form of Linagliptin. Different concentrations (ranges 5-10%) of super-disintegrants, Croscarmellose sodium (CCS), and Sodium starch glycolate (SSG) were used to prepare nine tablet dosage forms (F1 to F9) through the direct compression method. The compatibility of the formulations was evaluated by FTIR to reveal any possible drug-excipient interactions and it was proved to be compatible with all formulations. Precompression (bulk density, tapped density, Carr’s index, Hausner’s ratio, and angle of repose) and post-compression parameters (weight variation, hardness, thickness, and friability) were analyzed for all tablets and the results were found satisfactory as well as within limits as per USP guidelines. All the formulated batches (F1 to F9) exhibited disintegration of tablets within 2 minutes, where formulation F9 represented the lowest disintegration time (51±3 sec) which was also found significantly better than the marketed product (310±5 sec). In terms of drug dissolution, 90% of drug release was observed for all nine formulations within 45 minutes and formulation F9 (5% CCS and 5% SSG) illustrated the rapid and highest dissolution rate compared to the marketed one’s, 100% drug release at 20 minutes and 91.77 % drug release at 30 minutes successively. The respective data sets of drug release were mathematically fitted to several kinetic models and for all formulations, drug release pattern obeyed first-order kinetics amongst those, formulation F2 (r2= 0.98), F4 (r2= 0.99), F5 (r2= 0.98), and F9 (r2= 0.97) were found to be best fitted in this kinetic norm. Based on disintegration time and dissolution data comparison to a brand leader market product, F9 was experienced as the best formulation. Furthermore, it was observed that if SSG and CCS were combined, then these two parameters were more improved compared to their separate uses. Thus, incorporation of the optimum amount of super-disintegrants in a formulation showed rapid swelling, faster disintegration as well as ease of dissolution of tablet dosage forms. The aim of the current study work was to formulate and assess a fixed dose mixture tablet of instant release oral solid dosage form comprising two anti-diabetic drugs (linagliptin and metformin hydrochloride) for managing of diabetes mellitus type 2.The innovator drug product (Jentadueto Tablet) was evaluated for the various evaluation parameters, which have been taken into consideration during the drug product development. Pre-formulation evaluation was accomplished to safeguard better parameters of formulated drug product. On the result of pre-formulation evaluation and innovator drug product characterization, the model drug product was recognized in various steps. The established formulation was augmented for different excipients. The instant release film covered tablet of linagliptin and metformin HCl was expressed and augmented at laboratory scale. The individual steps (procedures) were improved for the same and the scale-up contemplation have been engaged into account certify the product performance at pilot plant-up to commercial scale-up. The present research work was carried out to Formulate and evaluation of bilayer tablet dosage form for the treatment of Hypertension.The objective of this study to compare the specific characteristics of Metoprolol [beta selective (cardio selective) adrenoreceptor blocking agent] and Hydrochlorothiazide (Thiazide Diuretics]) in order to design stable formulation. It can be concluded that bilayer tablet were successfully formulated to achieve immediate release of Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ)  and tailored release of Metoprolol (MPL)by using Dual Release Drug Absorption System(DUREDAS technology).Both drugs were found to be stable in Bilayer tablet formulation and were found to be stable for few months. This bilayer tablet dosage form increases the stability which may reduce loss and cost of formulation. It improves the benefits of producer, retailer, and patients. Recently, greater attention has been focused on development of bilayer tablet formulations. Over the past 30 years, the expenses and complications involved in marketing new drug entities have increased with concomitant recognition of therapeutic advantages of conventional drug delivery system. Several pharmaceutical companies are currently developing bi-layer tablets, for a variety of reasons: patent extension, efficient pharmacological effect, better patient compliance, etc. Bilayer tablet is becoming new approach for the successful drug delivery system and for better stability in combination. Bilayer tablets can be primary option to avoid chemical incompatibilities between APIs by physical separation.
