As an important psychological feature that affects the strategic decision-making of top management team (TMT), risk preference exerts important impact on the failure of innovation. Taking Chinese pharmaceutical listed companies from 2011 to 2017 as research samples, this paper uses principal component analysis and probit regression model to empirically test the impact of TMT risk preference on technological innovation failure of firms from the perspective of government intervention. It is found that TMT’s risk preference has a significantly positive impact on the failure of firms’ technological innovation. The regulatory role of government intervention between TMT’s risk preference and failure of firms’ technological innovation is an inverted U-shaped relationship. Low or high level of government intervention will promote the positive impact of TMT’s risk preference on the failure of technological innovation, and increase the risk of technological innovation failure. The findings of this study contribute to: (1) broaden the research perspective of technological innovation failure. (2) The innovation failure rate can be reduced by constructing or optimizing the TMT and the government intervening in firm innovation through reasonable and perfect technology innovation guidance policies. (3) expand the research means of innovation failure, making the results more convincing.

Web based services have turned into an integral part of peoples’ life. Ease of use and several advantages lead to the popularity of adopting electronic commerce (e-commerce). Though a big number of customers visit and register on the commerce sites daily, the selling rate is low for lack of trust and loyalty. Trust is the main connector of companies and customers. Loyal customers are the important assets for the companies. This study aims at identifying the factors that are associated with the trust and risk perception of the customers on e-commerce. A primary dataset is collected on this occasion. Likert scale type questionnaire is involved in the questionnaire and data reliability is checked through Cronbach's alpha. Probit regression and principal component analysis are used as statistical analysis. The study finds the variables age, internet using purpose, market orientation, and technology as significantly related to trustworthiness of the customers on e-commerce, while the variables experienced using the internet, internet using purpose, and market orientation are potential determinants of risk perception. The study results suggest the e-commerce companies emphasize technologies for keeping accurate information, performing the outmost of the customers’ benefit, and collecting customers’ information. In addition, they should be conscious of the customers’ opinion and pleasant experience, along with maintaining the mentioned delivery time.

Abstract This paper attempts to evaluate the coordinated development state of the subsystems within the internet financial ecosystem in China from 2011 to 2016. Focusing on the main business modes, technological innovation, and the external environment, we select 29 indicators to construct an index system and adopt a coupling coordination degree model for evaluation. Furthermore, we use two weight calculation methods, entropy weight and principal component analysis, to ensure the robustness of the results. The empirical results show that China’s internet financial ecosystem experienced five development stages from 2011 to 2016, which are moderate disorder, near disorder, weak coordination, intermediate coordination, and good coordination. Different methods of obtaining weights have little effect on the empirical results. These findings suggest that at the beginning, the coordinated development of China’s internet financial ecosystem was hindered by factors including the scarcity of main business modes and the defect of technological innovation; then, with the rapid development of China’s internet industry, the external environment became another drawback in coordinated development. Finally, based on the findings, we give some policy recommendations from a global perspective to achieve a sustainable internet financial ecosystem.

Regional technological innovation ability is increasingly becoming the determining factor to attain an international competitive advantage for the areas, as well as to achieve regional economic growth and development. But in the same time of raising the regional technological innovation ability, it is also necessary to continuously improve the efficiency of regional technological innovation, so as to increase the resources efficiency. We evaluate the efficiency of regional technology innovation for China's 30 provinces and municipalities using comprehensive evaluation model combined principal component analysis and DEA. According to evaluation results, we think that the overall efficiency for regional technological innovation is at the low level, and most areas is at the stage of increasing returns to scale, that account for a common problem of insufficient investment in the process of regional technological innovation.

Background: The Intermittent Claudication Questionnaire (ICQ) is a short questionnaire for the assessment of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in patients with intermittent claudication (IC). The objective of this study was to translate the ICQ into German and to investigate the psychometric properties of the German ICQ version in patients with IC. Patients and methods: The original English version was translated using a forward-backward method. The resulting German version was reviewed by the author of the original version and an experienced clinician. Finally, it was tested for clarity with 5 German patients with IC. A sample of 81 patients were administered the German ICQ. The sample consisted of 58.0 % male patients with a median age of 71 years and a median IC duration of 36 months. Test of feasibility included completeness of questionnaires, completion time, and ratings of clarity, length and relevance. Reliability was assessed through a retest in 13 patients at 14 days, and analysis of Cronbach’s alpha for internal consistency. Construct validity was investigated using principal component analysis. Concurrent validity was assessed by correlating the ICQ scores with the Short Form 36 Health Survey (SF-36) as well as clinical measures. Results: The ICQ was completely filled in by 73 subjects (90.1 %) with an average completion time of 6.3 minutes. Cronbach’s alpha coefficient reached 0.75. Intra-class correlation for test-retest reliability was r = 0.88. Principal component analysis resulted in a 3 factor solution. The first factor explained 51.5 of the total variation and all items had loadings of at least 0.65 on it. The ICQ was significantly associated with the SF-36 and treadmill-walking distances whereas no association was found for resting ABPI. Conclusions: The German version of the ICQ demonstrated good feasibility, satisfactory reliability and good validity. Responsiveness should be investigated in further validation studies.
