Virtual reality has impacted education, where progressively more educational institutionsconsider its inclusion. The research problem derives from the need to study the educational possibilitiesprovided by integrating augmented reality into the curriculum, and its effect on academic achievement ina diverse class, specifically in the chemistry subject. This study examines 60 school-age participants withandwithout special educational needs, and addresses three overarching questions: (a)Would integratingaugmented reality (AR) technology result in better academic achievement? (b)Would knowledge beretained longer by using AR? (c) Is there any relationship between academic achievement, acceptanceand motivation regarding the use of this technology? Embracing the socio-constructivist theory oflearning and collaborative and immersive learning as a framework, this study was carried out usinga quantitative approach and a pre-experimental design. The AR VR Molecules Editor applicationwas used in chemistry lessons. Main results showed significant immediate academic achievementand content retention. Despite classroom diversity, immersive technologies enhance students’ learningregardless of whether they have special educational needs (SEN) or not. They also acknowledge that ARis a suitable sustainable technology that may foster social and cognitive justice and inclusive education, and train students that are equally prepared for the dynamic future.

The current study seeks to investigate the effectiveness of augmented reality in online distance learning at the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was carried out in an instructional software authoring tools course for in-structional technology department students to develop academic achievement and instructional software design skills. To achieve this, augmented reality was used, which allowed the learning process to be completed via online dis-tance learning. Forty students were selected to participate by purposeful sampling. The results show that augmented reality was more effective in supporting academic achievement as well as skills acquisition in the virtual classrooms compared to the virtual classrooms that did not use augmented reality in online distance learning. In general, augmented reality or one of its (fixed, animated) patterns can be used to effectively learn in online distance learning during pandemic periods. As well as augmented reality that can use location-aware or vision-based maybe have a good potential in online dis-tance learning within the pandemic. As such the teachers must be prepared to employ all patterns of augmented reality in traditional online distance learn-ing or during the pandemics to achieve the need for 21st-century skills. Con-ducting more research is required in online distance learning by using aug-mented reality with another sample and different content general, augmented reality or one of its (fixed, animated) patterns can be used to effectively learn in online distance learning during pandemic periods.

The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of using augmented reality applications in developing the academic achievement regarding fiqh for intermediate school students The researcher has built the tool of the study which was an achievement test by selecting random sample from intermediate school students in Princess Nora bint Abdul Rahman University in the year AH 1438/1439. The sample consisted of thirty students who represent the trial group studied through the technique of augmented reality applications. The researcher has used the semi-trial process and right after applying the statistical processing on the levels of post-test applications، the results has shown the following. There are differences of statistical influence at the level (0.05≥α) of grade points average of the students of the trial group along the pre-test/post-test measurement of academic achievement in favorer of the post measurement. Also، there is a major educational influence for using the augmented reality to enhance academic achievement in Fiqh for the intermediate first class students according to the conclusions of this study، where the researcher recommends the following.

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of course material developed with augmented reality (AR) technology in teaching subjects related to coding on students' academic achievement, their level of permanence in learning and their opinions on the process. The mixed method was used in the study. In the quantitative dimension of the research, semi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group, and in qualitative dimension phenomenology pattern were preferred. The quantitative data of the research were collected with the achievement test and the qualitative data were collected with a semi-structured interview form. The study group consists of 64 students attending a university in Computer Programming department in Turkey. There are 34 students in the experimental group and 30 students in the control group. The prepared achievement test was applied to the students as pretest, posttest and permanence test. After the application, interviews were made with 15 students selected from the experimental group. As a result of the research, it is seen that the academic achievement and permanence levels of students in the experimental group using AR course material for teaching coding education are higher than the students in the control group. According to the results obtained from the qualitative dimension of the research, it has been determined that AR technology provides many advantages such as efficiency, permanence, comprehensibility and convenience on learning; accordingly, it has been suggested that it should be expanded in different courses and fields.
