This research aims to give information regarding the speed of mathematical calculation on windows so that people can choose an operating system which suits them without wasting their time. In this research, we need a laptop and some operating systems (windows) so that we can compare one with the other accurately. The result of this research will be noted and analysed qualitatively, quantitatively, and descriptively. It shows that running the same mathematical calculation program on different operating systems will produce a same result but different time. Index Terms - calculate the speed, operating system

Today, smart cards are widely used in variety of applications of human life. The nature of these cards depends on theirs operating system, in other words the operating system determines that card can be used in what field. Hardware development on the one hand and increasing use of smart cards on the other, have led to that the operating systems have progressed dramatically.Moving from special-purpose operating systems with single application into multi-purpose operating systems with open architecture, is proof of claim.Increase the number of operating systems and variety of their applications, caused that the need to categorize and classify operating systems be felt more than ever.Smart card operating systems can be categorized based on different parameters such as file management, applications management, and historical generations. In this paper we will discussion about smart card operating systems and their classification based on these parameters.

This article describes the family of emulators for IBM mainframe architectures, their development history, functional features and capability, as well as the experience of many years (since 1994) of emulators development and their implementation area. There was sold the relatively simple task (for modern standards) of creating a virtual machine in the VSE/ESA operating system for transferring legacy platform-dependent applications to this target environment. The problem was solved at first for EU computers in Russia, and then for IBM 9221 in Germany and in the other western countries. The transfer was made to the OS/390 environment, and to IBM AIX, quite modern at that time. The virtual execution of any existing IBM mainframe operating systems in the main server OS environments: Linux, Windows, AIX, Z/OS, ZLinux had been provided. There was developed the solution for combining any types of formed virtual computing nodes into heterogeneous geographically distributed computing networks that provide, in particular, multiple mutual redundancy of nodes in the network.

Since the great success of the operating system Linux, the development of Free and Open Source Software is broad discussed. This is also seen as the beginning of a new economic development. This paper examines, what makes Linux actually so significant for the computer industry. First Linux is critical evaluated and placed opposite the Microsoft operating systems. Than some substantial new influences on the development and production in the computer industry are worked out. On the one hand this are modifications in the production chain of computers and on the other hand network effects (externalization), which proceed from these products. On the basis of this new economic situation the Linux phenomenon is explained and it is shown from which the great importance of Microsoft in the computer industry results at present.

Today in a computer era there are two most used operating systems i.e. Windows and Linux. Windows is famous for its easy to use interface. Linux, on the other hand provides a ton of inbuilt functionalities to automatize task. To understand which one is superior we are going to compare them on grounds of kernel architectural differences, memory management, respective file systems and CPU scheduling task. These are standard bench-marks on which we are contrasting the internal working of an operating system. Linux and Windows vary in price, viewpoint and adaptability, with both in quest to stabilize in their present flaws.

In establish good relationship with customer, companies need to have a good customer relationship management system as well. The purpose of this study is to explore the level of development of the use of instant messaging applications that are used for mobility of companies in establishing relationships with customers; and to investigate the factors considered important for the success of the mobility of companies in establishing relationships with their customers. In this study it was found that not all instant messaging application has a feature which serves to establish rapport with customers. The results showed some of the determinants of success in the utilization of instant messaging applications is the ease of use, target the most used mobile devices, operating systems most used by users, and mobile application user interface that is used. Index Terms - customer, relationship, management, application, messanging, instant

In this project, we demonstrated how to improve transfer rate when transfering data from a notebook installed FreeBSD operating system to another notebook installed Windows 8 operating system. The method which we used was with customizing the kernel on FreeBSD. Before we customized the kernel, we calculated the average time of the transfer speed with its default kernel. After we got the average time, then we customized its kernel and calculated the average time after we installed the custom kernel. At the end we got faster average time with the customized kernel and the performance better. Index Terms - FreeBSD, Server, Transfer rate, Improving

Nowadays, a large number of information can not be reached by the reader because of the misclassification of text-based documents. The misclassified data can also make the readers obtain the wrong information. The method which is proposed by this paper is aiming to classify the documents into the correct group.  Each document will have a membership value in several different classes. The method will be used to find the degree of similarity between the two documents is the semantic similarity. In fact, there is no document that doesn’t have a relationship with the other but their relationship might be close to 0. This method calculates the similarity between two documents by taking into account the level of similarity of words and their synonyms. After all inter-document similarity values obtained, a matrix will be created. The matrix is then used as a semi-supervised factor. The output of this method is the value of the membership of each document, which must be one of the greatest membership value for each document which indicates where the documents are grouped. Classification result computed by the method shows a good value which is 90 %. Index Terms - Fuzzy co-clustering, Heuristic, Semantica Similiarity, Semi-supervised learning.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a growing research area as a large of number portable devices are being developed. This fact makes operating systems (OS) useful to homogenize the development of these devices, to reduce design times, and to provide tools for developing complex applications. This work presents an operating system scheduler for resource-constraint wireless devices, which adapts the tasks scheduling in changing environments. The proposed adaptive scheduler allows dynamically delaying the execution of low priority tasks while maintaining real-time capabilities on high priority ones. Therefore, the scheduler is useful in nodes with rechargeable batteries, as it reduces its energy consumption when battery level is low, by delaying the least critical tasks. The adaptive scheduler has been implemented and tested in real nodes, and the results show that the nodes lifetime could be increased up to 70% in some scenarios at the expense of increasing latency of low priority tasks.

Smart grid endpoints need to use two environments within a processing system (PS), one with a Linux-type operating system (OS) using the Arm Cortex-A53 cores for management tasks, and the other with a standalone execution or a real-time OS using the Arm Cortex-R5 cores. The Xen hypervisor and the OpenAMP framework allow this, but they may introduce a delay in the system, and some messages in the smart grid need a latency lower than 3 ms. In this paper, the Linux thread latencies are characterized by the Cyclictest tool. It is shown that when Xen hypervisor is used, this scenario is not suitable for the smart grid as it does not meet the 3 ms timing constraint. Then, standalone execution as the real-time part is evaluated, measuring the delay to handle an interrupt created in programmable logic (PL). The standalone application was run in A53 and R5 cores, with Xen hypervisor and OpenAMP framework. These scenarios all met the 3 ms constraint. The main contribution of the present work is the detailed characterization of each real-time execution, in order to facilitate selecting the most suitable one for each application.
