Today, the diversity of functions of the state is objectively expanding, especially in the context of socially oriented economies of developed countries. Effective governance of state property serves as a solid foundation for successful performance of the state functions. The chosen topic is of particular relevance in the context of Ukraine's transformational economy. The subject of research is the system of economic relations of state property. Methodology. In the course of the study, a general philosophical dialectical method was used to find contradictions in the phenomena and sources of their development, such as the essence of state property and its contents. Common scientific methods were also used: analysis and synthesis; comparative analysis; statistical methods for calculating the structure and dynamics of indicators of condition and development of state property. The overall system for assessing the socio-economic efficiency of state property management was carried out on the basis of microeconomic indicators and macroeconomic indicators (indicators of economic and social efficiency). The purpose of the paper is to reveal the trends of development of state ownership relations in the European countries as well as in Ukraine, in particular, the difficulties of the process of managing them, as well as to formulate possible ways to overcome such difficulties. Conclusions of the study. Today, the importance of the state as a public institute is objectively increasing in the most economically developed countries. By succeeding in achieving positive institutional changes in ownership relations (creating favorable conditions for SMEs, developing market infrastructure, conducting moderate privatization of state property, transferring state-owned enterprises to market tracks, maintaining policies for protecting national interests, etc.) the grounds for economic growth and improvement of the social sphere in France and Poland were made. Though the conducted analysis showed that the development of state property in Ukraine is contradictory, it has the following problems: ambiguous character of privatization; low efficiency of state property governance; insufficient efficiency of work of enterprises with state ownership; institutional problems. Overall, the socio-economic efficiency of state property governance in Ukraine needs improvement. Thus, the state policy of property governance should include, in particular, the following steps: development of a national model of governance, as well as strategies for the development of state property; organization of state property management entities; development of a system of criteria and indicators for assessing not only the economic but also the social efficiency of state property governance.

Subject. We consider the investment compliance methodology for power grid companies. Objectives. The purpose is to develop a methodology for investment compliance and test it, using the case of a power grid company engaged in investment activities. Methods. The study rests on methods of generalization, systematization, grouping, analysis, working documentation modeling, and planning methods. Results. The developed methodology includes an algorithm for compliance procedures grouped by stage of the life cycle of investment projects, a compliance program, and forms of working documentation. The investment compliance methodology is based on assessment procedures and comparison of information, identification and assessment of the risks of power grid companies, methods of investment analysis and predictive audit. Conclusions. The proposed methodology enables to review the schedule of works according to approved deadlines, to confirm the investment value, and to assess the accuracy of macroeconomic indicators that are chosen as a basis for evaluating the economic efficiency of projects.

Images of protests and demonstrations are crucial to both social movements and protesters who wish to communicate their identity and their messages to wider audiences. However, the photographing of such political events by press photographers is a complex process. The current analysis focuses on questions of aesthetics surrounding issues of visuality regarding protests and demonstrations. Based on empirical data from 17 semi-structured in-depth interviews with Greek photojournalists, this article examines what is photographed during a protest and how this is affected by the photojournalists’ aesthetic criteria. Drawing on scholarly work on photojournalism (Ritchin and Åker) and photography (Sontag), the author discusses how, in addition to the presumption of the principle of recording reality, photojournalists’ practice is also infused with subjective language and influenced by art photographers’ techniques. Therefore, the main argument of this article is that the employment of hybridized photography practices by photojournalists can have an impact upon their visual decisions with regard to what and how is photographed during a protest. The product of such practices is usually high quality, captivating images with apparent affective qualities.

The article contains a methodology of identification of the dynamic Ramsey model for the Polish economy. It includes two different scenarios of the development of the Polish economy for five years (2017-2022) and the comparison of the forecasts made on their basis. The first scenario is built using the model parameters estimated basing on the data for the period 1991-2016. The second scenario considers a more recent period (2010-2016), which is picked according to a hypothesis that the statistical data of this period describing the labor force dynamics shows its trend more representatively. The method of model identification is based on evaluating the proximity between the calculated and statistical time series of macroeconomic indicators (output, consumption, investment, export, import). The GDP and investments volumes are predicted for the five years’ period and the visualization of the forecasted trend is made for the both identified models.

The article presents arguments substantiating the influence of tax factors on the indicators of economic efficiency of oil and gas enterprises. The paper gives an interpretation of the influence of tax, customs-tariff, and macroeconomic factors on the indicators of economic efficiency of oil refining enterprises. The authors consider and set the objectives of the influence of tax, customs-tariff and macroeconomic factors. The study provides statistics of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation on the amounts of lost oil and gas revenues from the federal budget. The article considers the exchange rate as one of the key factors influencing the dynamics of macroeconomic indicators. The paper analyses the prices of “Urals” crude oil on the world oil industry markets. The authors discuss changes and modernization of the oil-refining industry.

Unemployment has become one of the major problems in Indonesia in the last eight years. SBY administration decides many economic policies in order to overcome the problem, but it seems not enough. However, the rate of foreign direct investment in Indonesia is increasing in the last three years. Macroeconomic indicators show that everything in its right track. This research analyzes the effects of FDI rate to employment rate in Indonesia. This research uses empirical data from ADB from 1983-2004. This research uses error correction model as a tool of analyses. The result shows that FDI rate does not have effect to employment rate. It means that FDI does not open job opportunity for many unemployer in Indonesia. In the end, this paper discusses the possibility of industrial policy in order to provide direction for government to develop Indonesia’s industry.

Abstract. Aims: To discuss and review the latest research related to gambling expansion. Method: We completed a literature review and empirical comparison of peer reviewed findings related to gambling expansion and subsequent gambling-related changes among the population. Results: Although gambling expansion is associated with changes in gambling and gambling-related problems, empirical studies suggest that these effects are mixed and the available literature is limited. For example, the peer review literature suggests that most post-expansion gambling outcomes (i. e., 22 of 34 possible expansion outcomes; 64.7 %) indicate no observable change or a decrease in gambling outcomes, and a minority (i. e., 12 of 34 possible expansion outcomes; 35.3 %) indicate an increase in gambling outcomes. Conclusions: Empirical data related to gambling expansion suggests that its effects are more complex than frequently considered; however, evidence-based intervention might help prepare jurisdictions to deal with potential consequences. Jurisdictions can develop and evaluate responsible gambling programs to try to mitigate the impacts of expanded gambling.

Over the last 30 years, numerical estimation has been largely studied. Recently, Castronovo and Seron (2007) proposed the bi-directional mapping hypothesis in order to account for the finding that dependent on the type of estimation task (perception vs. production of numerosities), reverse patterns of performance are found (i.e., under- and over-estimation, respectively). Here, we further investigated this hypothesis by submitting adult participants to three types of numerical estimation task: (1) a perception task, in which participants had to estimate the numerosity of a non-symbolic collection; (2) a production task, in which participants had to approximately produce the numerosity of a symbolic numerical input; and (3) a reproduction task, in which participants had to reproduce the numerosity of a non-symbolic numerical input. Our results gave further support to the finding that different patterns of performance are found according to the type of estimation task: (1) under-estimation in the perception task; (2) over-estimation in the production task; and (3) accurate estimation in the reproduction task. Moreover, correlation analyses revealed that the more a participant under-estimated in the perception task, the more he/she over-estimated in the production task. We discussed these empirical data by showing how they can be accounted by the bi-directional mapping hypothesis ( Castronovo & Seron, 2007 ).
